Tang Qinghua and Mrs. Li stood up to search for the dicine depicted in Pei Shu’er’s drawing for a long ti, but they couldn’t find it.

While they suspected Pei Shu’er of tricking them, Tang Qinghua discovered a herb on a large rock.

She quickly got up to pick it, but just as she was about to grab it, she slipped and fell from the large rock.

Her bones snapped with a loud crack.

She cried out in pain, and Mrs. Li, startled, rushed down to check on Tang Qinghua.

Upon seeing Tang Qinghua’s broken leg, Mrs. Li imdiately carried her on her back to find Pei Shu’er.

Seeing that leg, Pei Shu’er couldn’t help but shake her head.

"The conditions are limited, I can’t do anything about this leg."

Mrs. Li frowned, "Didn’t you treat Tang Zan before? His leg was severely injured, but now, with your daily treatnt, he is much better. Please take a look at your sister."

Fearing Pei Shu’er might not be wholehearted, she added a sentence.

"Shu’er, Aunt knows your dical skills. If you can’t cure Qinghua, it can only an you hold a deep resentnt against the main family."

Pei Shu’er laughed, considering she was in exile, conditions harsh, with life constantly in danger.

If it were in modern tis, anyone who spoke like this, she’d surely turn around and leave.

Even now, she had a temper.

She shook her head, "Auntie, see, cousin’s bone is snapped in two, nothing can be done."

If she didn’t treat her, there was no reason to accuse her of not being wholehearted, right?

After saying this, Pei Shu’er wanted to leave.

Mrs. Li beca anxious, "Pei Shu’er, are you still holding a grudge against us? But our issues are our issues, your cousin is so seriously injured, should you not take a good look instead of being willful."

Pei Shu’er said, "How can a clever woman cook without rice? Without any dicine, I am no immortal. I believe there isn’t a doctor in the world who can cure my sister with nothing."

After that, she left. Let alone her, even a Divine Doctor would’ve said the sa, and no one could do anything.

Tang Qinghua burst into tears on the side.

"Mother, will I be a cripple in the future?"

With such an injury, becoming la seed a certainty.

Earlier, their main family secretly laughed at Tang Zan, now their own daughter beca one of the disabled, her face turned unsightly.

But this wasn’t the hardest part; the hardest was during the journey.

Tang Qinghua didn’t break one leg but both, necessitating carrying by others.

No one in the main family was willing to carry her; those from the second and fourth families were injured too, and this niece was not particularly likable, so naturally, no one wanted to take on this task.

The third family’s people were even less likely to carry, Tang Zan himself was la.

The main family wanted Pei Shu’er to carry Tang Qinghua.

Mrs. Li said, "Shu’er, you are strong, you carry Qinghua."

Pei Shu’er shook her head, "I still need to carry Qing Huan and Shuo’er."

Mrs. Li ground her teeth in annoyance, "They have your mother and your cousin to carry them."

Pei Shu’er looked at Mrs. Li, seemingly surprised.

"But Auntie, you are the true parents of cousin, if you don’t carry her, why let others do so?"

"Frankly speaking, we are already living separate lives, each family minding its own business. If I have the strength, I would consider helping."

"Moreover, my mother and sister’s health is so weak, they’ve been sick several tis along the way, and even now they are still ailing."

Mrs. Li gritted her teeth, "Shu’er, you are strong."

Pei Shu’er laughed, "Auntie, my uncle is even stronger, he’s a general who leads soldiers."

After saying this, Pei Shu’er didn’t bother to talk further with Mrs. Li, shouldering Tang Qinghuan and Tang Shuo to move on.

Mrs. Li chased after her from behind trying to negotiate, all ignored by Pei Shu’er.

Liu Xu and Tang Qingning wanted to speak, but were pulled onward by Pei Shu’er.

Mrs. Li, finding no success, could only have Tang Qinghua carried by the main family.

Aunt Lin also carried Tang Qinghua, but Tang Qinghua was sowhat picky.

She complained Aunt Lin was too thin and uncomfortable, and later, that Aunt Lin’s carrying posture was bad making her uncomfortable again.

Tang Qingrou remained weak and frail as if she might die at any mont, no one expected her to carry Tang Qinghua.

Tang Peilin also carried Tang Qinghua, but the distance was shorter, even less than Aunt Lin.

Tang Qinghua feared this father, didn’t dare utter a word.

Mrs. Li’s distance was equally short; they all relied on Aunt Lin to carry longer.

After a few days of carrying like this, everyone dreaded Tang Qinghua and really wanted to abandon her.

Even Tang Peilin didn’t want to pay attention to Tang Qinghua, but he couldn’t do anything as she was his daughter, so he still took care of her cautiously.

In this way, the main family fell sick.

Lin Aunt and Tang Qingrou, like background figures, began to move into everyone’s view.

They diligently cared for Mrs. Li, Tang Peilin, and Tang Qinghua, a gentle warmth spread through the main family, earning praise from the others for these two.

On the road, rain mixed with hail fell, hitting Tang Qinghua, causing her to cry out continually.

The mountain road was slippery with mud; Tang Peilin slipped and rolled down the slope.

With everyone’s help, the main family was finally rescued.

But two mbers of the main family were left injured, and Tang Qinghua was unconscious, scarcely breathing.

The Tang Family took turns carrying the main family, enduring a week with Tang Peilin and Tang Qinghua being demanding.

Everyone’s mood grew increasingly irritated, what little brotherly affection there might have been faded completely.

Their life, already relatively easier as exiles, was made difficult by carrying these two, wearing blisters onto their feet once more.

Tang Peiyi’s injury, not fully healed, relapsed, burdening the second house with the extra load.

The clever second house mbers wouldn’t suffer this silently.

When Tang Peilin got up one night, angering the second house, they refused to carry the main family anymore.

Tang Peilin looked at the seemingly dead Tang Qinghua, gritted his teeth, and found a governnt officer while she was still alive.

"Lord, my daughter has died, please help with the burial."

One of the five horse-drawn carts officials had carried li ant for burying the deceased along the way.

The official didn’t check, and dug a pit to bury Tang Qinghua.

Tang Peilin watched from the side, struggling and in pain.

Yet he knew clearly, if Tang Qinghua continued living with them, the entire main family would die dragged down.

Being ruthless now was for the sake of the main family, for the Tang family.

At this mont, from under the dirt ca Tang Qinghua’s sobs, indicating she had woken from unconsciousness.

The officials halted their actions, turned to ask Tang Peilin.

"Did your daughter just make a sound?"

Tang Peilin’s expression was strained, his nails nearly piercing his palms.

"Lord, you must have misheard, I checked several tis."
