Pei Shu’er sensed sothing was off with Tang Zan; she wanted to look at him, but he held her tightly in his arms, as if trying to ld her into him, becoming one.
Once again, she caught the faint scent of cool sandalwood on him.
She could clearly hear Tang Zan’s heartbeat, beating steadily.
Tang Zan felt his heart was on the brink of shattering; he feared this was a dream, awakening to find no one next to him, with the relentless reminders from others that Pei Shu’er was dead echoing in his ears.
Yet he refused to believe it; he truly couldn’t accept that Pei Shu’er would leave him, especially since she had promised she wouldn’t.
But as ti went by, everyone failed to find Pei Shu’er. It seed as if she really had been reduced to ashes by that lightning strike.
His mories from that ti were chaotic; he only knew he had to find her, bring her back, and be with her.
Otherwise, he would really die of heartbreak.
Now, she was back; the sensation was real, but he was scared.
Afraid that the hope ignited with much difficulty would again turn out to be just a dream.
When Pei Shu’er wanted to speak, Tang Zan scooped her up.
Pei Shu’er quickly gave orders to Di Yi.
"Take my mother to a clean room."
Tang Zan took Pei Shu’er back to the suite-style room.
All the way, Pei Shu’er felt as though she was being held by a block of ice.
Tang Zan placed her on the bed; when she looked up, she found him standing at the bedside, his face dark and shadowed like a monster, cold eyes fixed intensely on her.
His gaze had never been so frightening.
She felt as if she were being stalked by a giant predator, ready to be devoured at any mont.
She took a few steps toward Tang Zan, stood before him.
Pei Shu’er imdiately grabbed his hand; her touch was gentle, finding his fingers extrely cold, as if touching a cold-blooded creature.
She hesitantly called out.
"Tang Zan."
Pei Shu’er wanted to explain, but Tang Zan reversed his grip on her hand, pressed her against the wall, and kissed her.
His actions were swift and fierce, like a beast aggressively conquering territory.
It was as if he urgently needed to prove sothing, knowing through touch that Pei Shu’er truly had returned.
Pei Shu’er instinctively sensed sothing was wrong, raised her hand to push him away.
But Tang Zan’s chest was hard as stone; she didn’t manage to push him away, so she half-heartedly submitted.
However, this side of Tang Zan was clearly not right; he seed tireless, Pei Shu’er was overwheld.
Pei Shu’er soothed him: "Tang Zan, I wanted to tell you before, only I hadn’t gotten the chance yet."
Tang Zan didn’t respond, so Pei Shu’er added.
"Tang Zan, I won’t leave you again."
Tang Zan sneered, raised his gaze to Pei Shu’er, his eyes filled with even more grim emotions.
"You want to leave , but there won’t be a chance. You’re mine in life, and even in death."
Pei Shu’er leaned against Tang Zan’s chest, feeling bittersweet.
Only when he was exhausted and asleep did Pei Shu’er get a mont to catch her breath.
She reached out to check Tang Zan’s pulse, finding his Inner Strength in turmoil, signs of becoming possessed, an unclear state, acting on instinct.
While Tang Zan was asleep, she carefully gave him acupuncture.
Tang Zan suddenly opened his eyes, watching her warily, then instinctively held her tighter.
Seeing she was performing acupuncture, he didn’t stop her, only fell back to sleep in exhaustion.
Obviously, besides fearing her departure, even if she were to stab him now, he probably wouldn’t stop her.
After one incense stick worth of ti, Pei Shu’er removed the silver needle.
Treating this possession requires so acupuncture, plus precious dicinal ingredients; otherwise, recovery is possible but slow, and Tang Zan’s ridians may suffer damage.
If paired with dicine, such as Jade Reviving Grass, it can effectively repair the damaged ridians.
She felt sorry for Tang Zan, instinctively hugged him tighter.
She knew that despite her carefulness, Tang Zan had already completely darkened as per the plot.
She rested her head on Tang Zan’s chest, listening to his steady and powerful heartbeat, and then slowly drifted into slumber.
Upon waking again, it was already nightti; she saw Tang Zan sitting by the bedside under the moonlight from the window, eyes filled with icy, bloodthirsty violence.
Tang Zan’s hand circled her ankle; Pei Shu’er felt he was definitely thinking of how to keep her bound to him.
However, this Tang Zan felt incredibly unfamiliar.
Pei Shu’er walked towards Tang Zan, her long dark hair cascading down.
Seeing her, Tang Zan’s gaze was filled with intense obsession; he lifted her chin and leaned in for another kiss.
Tang Zan’s state was unmistakably wrong, his eyes bloodshot, wordless.
These days, Pei Shu’er felt she was living in absurdity, as was Tang Zan, sotis even while bathing...
After Tang Zan tiredly fell asleep, Pei Shu’er perford acupuncture and administered the prepared dicine and Spiritual Spring Water to him.
Every day, soone from the Xuan Departnt would bring als; Pei Shu’er waited until Tang Zan’s condition improved slightly.
She would bring the als inside, patiently coaxing Tang Zan to eat together.
At this point, Tang Zan seed like an extrely obsessive single-celled being, stubborn, but under Pei Shu’er’s patience, there was finally progress.
Tang Zan moved from initial resistance to later compliance, able to occasionally eat a bit.
One day, when Pei Shu’er awoke, she sensed Tang Zan’s fingers lightly tracing her face.
When Pei Shu’er opened her eyes, she saw that those usually bloodshot eyes now held gentleness and obsession.
Pei Shu’er smiled softly, her voice tender like water.
"Tang Zan."
Tang Zan responded softly, his voice unexpectedly choked up.
Before Pei Shu’er could speak, he leaned over once more.
Pei Shu’er: "..."
Upon waking again, Pei Shu’er was already very hungry, and Tang Zan said: "Co, let’s eat."
Unexpectedly, he seed slightly more normal.
Pei Shu’er sighed in relief, after finishing eating, Tang Zan said: "Let’s go, I’ll take you out for a while."
Pei Shu’er nodded, went to the room’s bathroom for a fresh change, and when she erged again, she wore light green clothes, with a cloak also light green, looking fresh.
Tang Zan watched Pei Shu’er erge, his gaze deepened, stopping in front of her as Pei Shu’er thought he might do sothing else, but Tang Zan went in to bathe.
Upon seeing the outside scenery suddenly, Pei Shu’er felt a sense of ti-lapsed surrealism.
Even though it remained desolate and barren, she felt an overwhelming sense of warmth.
