Pei Shu’er quickly stopped thinking about it, because Shen Wanqing had finished eating and was eagerly watching her.

Pei Shu’er handed her another grilled fish, then used a stick to dig out the baked potatoes from the fire. Letting them cool, she peeled one and gave it to Shen Wanqing.

After eating, Shen Wanqing kept nodding. Both of them were quite full, and she worried about her Jiaohua mother’s stomach discomfort.

She even gave her so stomach dicine after the al, and then they both returned to the incense room.

Early the next morning, when Pei Shu’er woke up, she noticed a not-so-obvious footprint outside the window.

Pei Shu’er and Shen Wanqing went to do chores at the monastery, with Shen Wanqing continuing to sit in the main hall. In front of her were the monks; she sat at the end, listening to the abbot’s chanting.

The abbot said a lot, and gradually, Shen Wanqing’s heart cald down.

anwhile, Pei Shu’er’s task remained to find a path.

She just couldn’t believe that the road would be so hard to find.

She also thought about it and decided that if the path to Dayan was that tough, maybe she could find a similar terrain and carve out a new path.

There were indeed places with good terrain, but unless one’s martial arts skills were particularly high and under protective asures, otherwise, soone like her couldn’t climb up.

One could also use climbing equipnt, but if she used it rashly, bluntly speaking, it would be no different from sending herself to death.

Not to ntion, there was also Shen Wanqing.

Her Jiaohua mother couldn’t handle it.

Realizing this, Pei Shu’er had to give up.

Just as she was heading back, she turned her head and saw Zhen Xu once more.

He continued quietly following her, his cold and emotionless black eyes fixed on her.

At that mont, Pei Shu’er felt creeped out.

This Zhen Xu seed to have been following her for quite so ti, and often, whenever she turned her head, he was always there.

Pei Shu’er recalled that Zen Master Zhenxu didn’t seem like any kind of psycho killer, so why did his actions incite such fear?

Pei Shu’er approached and asked with a smile, "Little monk, are you following ?"

Her height only reached Zhen Xu’s shoulder; when she looked up at him, his silhouette was reflected in her eyes, giving her a sowhat innocent appearance.

Zhen Xu’s head drooped; his skin was pale and his features were as exquisite as a non-living being. His eyes showed no expression, and he quietly observed Pei Shu’er.

This woman, after washing off her makeup, looked like this.

From his observations over this period, he realized that this woman didn’t seem to possess high-level martial arts skills, so she couldn’t possibly be his nesis.

She lacked the capability.

As for the other woman, she was helplessly weak.

Pei Shu’er gently smiled and asked again,.

"Little monk, why are you following ?"

This man from the future world, the War God, could he have discovered her secret?

Zhen Xu didn’t speak, simply turned, and left.

When he finally reached the ditation room, he remained silent until the abbot finished the scriptures and then looked up at him.

"Zhen Xu, I did not misjudge."

With those words, Zhen Xu spoke no more.

Pei Shu’er increasingly discovered that Zen Master Zhenxu was still following her.

And he was getting closer and more frequent in proximity.

Sotis when she turned her head, she found him less than half a ter behind her.

That day, Pei Shu’er went mining but had not yet started digging when those mining folks noticed her.

They spoke in the Dayan Language and, upon seeing her, dozens of overseers rushed towards her.

"Well, well, it’s you, little thief, stealing our ores."

Pei Shu’er quickly ran—the cost of confrontation wasn’t worth it. Moreover, the ore was ownerless.

But the people behind her gave chase zealously, so she had to change tactics, fighting while retreating, hoping to win this way.

Pei Shu’er also saw Zhen Xu following her; standing quietly ahead, he looked like a silent statue.

Pei Shu’er didn’t want to talk to him, lest he be treated as an accomplice.

However, seeing Zhen Xu, those people still slashed at him.

"Monk, I’ve seen you chopping wood nearby a few tis, are you part of this too?"

Zhen Xu’s face turned icy as he clutched the person’s hand, causing the knife to fall, and with a swift motion, he slashed at the man.

His moves were too fast to be discerned by the naked eye, and in just a mont, the man’s head separated from his body, blood splattering onto Zhen Xu’s white garnt.

But Zhen Xu’s face showed no reaction.

As more people approached him, he dealt with them decisively, killing them one by one.

Pei Shu’er was a bit stunned. This monk was different.

Weren’t monks supposed to abstain from killing?

How co, when it ca to killing, he was more ruthless than anyone else?

By the ti Pei Shu’er regained her composure, Zhen Xu had already finished off the people, his white robe painted red with blood. He held Buddha beads in his hand, chanting a Buddhist blessing over the corpses.

There was a sense of dissonance that spread through Pei Shu’er’s heart.

Uncertain, Pei Shu’er called out to him.

"Little monk? You’ve broken your vows."

Zhen Xu turned his head slowly, his face devoid of any expression, but the blood on his excessively pale face added a touch of allure.

"These people were heavily sinful, filled with much suffering in this world, I rely helped them find liberation early."

Pei Shu’er was stunned. So, killing could be spoken of in such a rciful yet cold-blooded manner?

Seeing that Pei Shu’er had nothing more to say, Zhen Xu intended to leave. His monk’s shoes stepped over severed limbs, staining the soles with blood and leaving behind a trail of bloody footprints.

Following him, Pei Shu’er found the monk increasingly strange.

No, this monastery seed normal, but actually exuded oddities everywhere.

She must take her Jiaohua mother and leave here as soon as possible.

After the two had walked for a bit, Pei Shu’er spoke up from behind him.

"Little monk, do you want to wash the blood off yourself sowhere. Entering the monastery like this may be a little inappropriate."

Zhen Xu didn’t answer, but the path he took did lead to the riverbank.

After killing those people, he wasn’t afraid of others finding out, but he didn’t like the blood sticking to him.

Right now, Zhen Xu, taking Pei Shu’er along, was on a path they had never taken before. She was sowhat delighted that they finally might find a way out of here.

While searching, Pei Shu’er unexpectedly found a very precious herb nearby, the Jade Reviving Grass.

Its leaves were jade-like and large, and this herb was extrely useful, considered an all-purpose antidote; even if it couldn’t completely detoxify a person, it could buy ti.

This was a key herb ntioned in the book.

It was said that this grass was worth a fortune, but even at such a high price, nobody would sell it because it was supposedly extinct—a legendary herb.

The heroine later ca to the Great Shang looking for this Jade Reviving Grass; who would have thought, she found it herself now.
