Chapter 62: Chapter 62: Forced to Use Physical Cooling Only

Fang Anning never expected that by asking them to consider, He Tingchen ant for them to consider for three days.

During these three days, except for the occasional delivery of so water and food, no one else ca to see them.

Fang Anning was fine, just a cold, and after changing into clean clothes and enduring for two more days, she recovered.

But Mu Yunxi had been beaten black and blue, and without tily treatnt and disinfection of his wounds, he started to have a fever by that night.

While taking care of the feverish Mu Yunxi, Fang Anning couldn’t help but curse with anger.

When soone ca to deliver food, she shouted at them: "Tell Mr. He to spare us, please. If not, at least find a doctor. Mu Yunxi is running a fever; if it goes on, soone will die."

However, that person ignored her and naturally did not bring them a doctor or any dicine.

She didn’t know whether that person didn’t relay the ssage to He Tingchen at all or whether, after telling He Tingchen, he didn’t allow for a doctor or dicine to be provided to them.

Perhaps, from the very beginning, He Tingchen never intended to let them live.

If they really died of the illness here, perhaps that would be exactly what he wanted.

"Mu Yunxi, hold on. If you don’t hold on, you will really die here," Fang Anning said while giving him water and patting his face, trying to talk to him.

But Mu Yunxi was delirious with fever and probably couldn’t hear her clearly.

However, when she patted his face, he did manage to open his eyes to look at her.

But it was only for a mont before he closed them again.

Fang Anning had no choice, but luckily there was plenty of water delivered by that person.

She kept feeding Mu Yunxi water to prevent him from dying of dehydration and tore off her own clothes, dampening them to wipe his neck and underarms to cool him down.

Without dicine, she could only resort to physical cooling.

Fortunately, she had taken care of Li Xiaoxiao when she was a child and knew how to bring down a fever physically.

During this ti, Mu Yunxi woke up twice and his forehead was not so hot. But soon he would pass out again and the fever would start anew.

Fang Anning was almost frantic with worry; if he kept feverish like this, even if he didn’t die, he’d probably end up brain-damaged once he woke up.

But she couldn’t just ignore him, she couldn’t bear it.

Finally, on the third day, the door opened.

Fang Anning hadn’t eaten anything these past two days, having given all the bit of food that was delivered to Mu Yunxi.

Seeing the bright light cast from outside, she couldn’t help but smirk bitterly.

Were they preparing to release them, or was it a prelude to claiming their lives?

Nevermind, whatever it was, it was good to have an end to it.

Even if it ant dying like this, she was willing. It would be better than enduring in here beside soone suffering from fever.

"Yunxi, Yunxi?"

A middle-aged man ca in, rushed to Lu Yanxi’s side, and took Mu Yunxi from her.

Lu Yanxi looked at him, he seed sowhat familiar, wasn’t that just the older version of Mu Yunxi?

It was likely that this was Li Xiaoxiao’s boss, Mu Yunxi’s real father, Mu Zhengyuan.

Indeed, Mu Yunxi was right; Mu Zhengyuan had co to save him.

"He’s feverish, been feverish for three days now, hurry and take him to the hospital," said Fang Anning weakly.

Mu Zhengyuan imdiately instructed his people to lift Mu Yunxi and take him out.

After Mu Yunxi was taken away, Fang Anning let out a sigh of relief, and rose up from the ground.

However, just as Mrs. Chen stood up, she ca back in, her eyes betraying so reluctance. But she ultimately showed no pity for this promiscuous woman, saying coldly, "Mr. He wants you to see him."

Fang Anning nodded, following Mrs. Chen out with feeble steps.

But as soon as she left the room, she asked, "Could I get sothing to eat first? I’m really hungry."

Mrs. Chen sighed and told her to wait in the living room. She quickly brought out a bowl of porridge from the kitchen.

Fang Anning took the porridge and ate vigorously. It was just a bowl of plain porridge, yet it tasted more delicious than any delicacy.

She almost licked the bowl clean and let out a satisfied sigh after finishing.

"So delicious."

"You could have enjoyed many delicious foods, but you chose to betray Mr. He," Mrs. Chen said with a cold snort.

Fang Anning weakly replied, "I didn’t, I really didn’t."

"Whether you did or didn’t, you know the truth, and we aren’t blind. You better explain that to Mr. He," Mrs. Chen said sternly.

Fang Anning sighed.

Indeed, people always have their biases and distances. Mrs. Chen used to be so good to her, and she thought they had truly connected. Now she realized, all that kindness was only because she was He Tingchen’s wife. Without that status, she was probably nothing in Mrs. Chen’s eyes.

"Go take a shower; you’re too dirty and might offend Mr. He’s eyes."

After going upstairs, Mrs. Chen asked her to shower in the guest room first.

Fang Anning nodded. Even if she wasn’t afraid of offending He Tingchen’s eyes, she wanted to take a shower and freshen up.

After not bathing for three days—and having been constantly taking care of the sick—she was worried she might catch sothing from Mu Yunxi.

After showering and changing into clean, fresh clothes, she went to He Tingchen’s study to et him.

He Tingchen had removed his mask. His face was as pale and handso as usual, flawless, which ant the rash on his face must have subsided.

Indeed, several days had passed; how could it not have gone away?

But his expression was dark and cold as ice, causing a chill in those who saw him.

Fang Anning felt very nervous. As she entered and saw his expression, she swallowed and greeted him in a small voice, "Are you okay?"

He Tingchen looked at her expressionlessly, his gaze as sharp as frosty daggers falling upon her.

Apparently, he was not okay!

Fang Anning shrank back a little and said softly, "Thank you for releasing Mu Yunxi, but no matter whether you believe

or not, I still have to explain. There’s really nothing between Mu Yunxi and . I absolutely did not betray you, I definitely did not cheat."

He Tingchen said nothing, turning the computer screen in front of him towards her.

Fang Anning glanced and recognized the image on the screen.

On closer inspection, wasn’t that the basent they had stayed in?

It turned out that He Tingchen’s computer could access the basent’s surveillance footage.

"Since there is surveillance, you must have heard my conversation with him on the first day! He Tingchen, you have to believe . Though he denies it, he probably knew about the surveillance, but I’m telling the truth. He must be framing

to avenge his cousin. He Tingchen, please don’t fall for his tricks."

"What did you just call ?" He Tingchen asked coldly.

Fang Anning belatedly realized she had called him by his na and quickly apologized, "I’m sorry, Mr. He."

"These past two days, you’ve taken good care of him," He Tingchen said slowly.

Fang Anning explained, "I wasn’t taking care of him, I just... couldn’t bear to watch a life fade away before my eyes. Believe , even if it was a dog, I would take care of it with all my heart. It’s not because it was him that I did."

"Do you think I would believe that?"

He Tingchen looked at her, his eyes filled with scornful light.
