Chapter 459: Chapter 458 Chapter 459: Chapter 458 Kiera Olsen sighed quietly and then looked again at Lewis Horton.
Lewis Horton was watching her quietly, “Leave first, or…”
Kiera Olsen gazed ahead, “Let’s go to the hospital first.”
“Okay.”
Lewis Horton drove past Ellis Olsen.
Yet Ellis acted as if he had not seen them, just staring in the direction of the gate.
Through the rearview mirror, Kiera watched him.
Ti seed to stretch at this mont, as the car drove past, she could clearly see Ellis’s body trembling slightly in the breeze.
She averted her gaze, afraid of feeling sorry for him.
Lewis Horton spoke up, “Actually, it’s not that he doesn’t trust Mary Davis…”
He had just begun when he paused slightly and then glanced cautiously at Kiera before continuing, “It’s just that you don’t quite understand what azoospermia ans to a man.”
“What does it an?” Kiera asked.
“It’s a kind of sha. n are actually very simple, I rember when we were in college, even going to the bathroom, Ellis would run over and compete with to see who could pee further…”
Kiera: “…”
That sounded incredibly childish!
Perhaps because she grew up in a less favorable environnt and matured early, she couldn’t comprehend such behavior.
But suddenly she was very curious, “Who could pee further?”
Lewis Horton: “…”
He twitched the corners of his mouth and then said, “Girls shouldn’t worry about these things.”
Then with a slight curve of his lips and a proud tone, he said, “Of course, it was .”
Kiera: “…”
It’s not that… you’re not childish. Why on earth are you proud!
She rolled her eyes, “And then?”
Lewis Horton continued, “His personality is like that; ostentatious, and he is excellent, always the top presence in the circle, being admired by everyone. Look at him, he’s getting old and still not married, just because he fears people will find out about his azoospermia, you can understand how strong his pride is.”
“He doesn’t want anyone to know about it. So all the Olsens are kept in the dark by him. Everyone thinks he’s just too into his fun to get married…”
After Lewis Horton finished speaking, he began again, “To him, having azoospermia is like a destructive blow. But when Mary Davis said she was pregnant, Ellis, willing to go for another check-up and even visiting other hospitals to do so, already considered it a humiliation.”
Kiera frowned slightly, offering no rebuttal.
Lewis Horton went on, “Moreover, he did it three tis.”
He focused on the road ahead, driving seriously, “Each ti, for him, was a humiliation. He endured this humiliation three tis.”
“Kiera, from Mary Davis’s point of view, he is, of course, in the wrong, but think about it from his perspective?”
“I know what kind of person Mary is, and that she would never behave recklessly. But Clance’s circles are ssy, and Mary’s reputation within it is truly not good. When I first ca to Clance, the Davis Family even wanted to form a marital alliance with the Horton Family, but the information Tom Davis found also indicated Mary led a chaotic private life… Faced with this version of Mary Davis, suddenly telling Ellis that she was carrying his child, while he has azoospermia, it’s understandable he’d have doubts.”
Kiera pressed her lips together and looked out of the car window.
Lewis Horton added, “So, Ellis is not beyond redemption.”
Kiera sighed quietly, “What you’ve said, I understand. But who can truly empathize with Mary’s sorrow? Her background, as you’ve seen, is quite hopeless; she’s faced with her parents and uncle, against whom she has no power to resist. Her prior reputation isn’t so good either, but that didn’t reflect her true character… And regardless of the reason, Ellis nearly caused her to lose the baby, which inflicted real harm, both physically and emotionally. Then…”
She spoke quietly, “Do you know what sisterly friendship is?”
Lewis Horton shook his head.
Kiera’s gaze seed distant, “I never had friends growing up, so I lacked sisterly bonds. But when I put myself in my sister’s shoes, who grew up with Mary, I believe she would’ve undoubtedly supported Mary without hesitation, rather than standing on the side of impartiality.”
She looked at Lewis Horton, “Sisterly friendship ans unconditional acceptance. So, I won’t say a single good word for Ellis. Unless Mary forgives him, I won’t forgive him.”
Lewis Horton nodded upon hearing this, “Understood.”
He didn’t speak up for Ellis anymore and instead, changed the subject, “As for the Gill family, we can just take them head-on today.”
“That’s what I was thinking too,” Kiera said, a trace of loathing in her eyes, “Again and again, they bully without end, such cowards! I really can’t understand why Lady Gill would protect such a scoundrel. Isn’t she a person of clear right and wrong?”
“It’s simple.”
Lewis Horton spoke slowly, “Lady Gill has to consider the Gill family’s face. So, in this matter, even though she knows Jackson Gill is wrong, she will not admit it.”
Kiera scoffed, “The face of the five major families of Clance, is it that important? Since that’s the case, it seems there are only two ways to deal with the Gill family.”
“Which two?”
“Acquire the Gill family!”
Kiera spoke fiercely.
At these words, Lewis’s lips curved slightly. Just as he was about to speak, Kiera said, “But that’s not very realistic. Whether it’s the Olsen family, the information I have on hand, or even adding the Horton family, we can’t swallow such a big bone as the Gill family. So, we must use the second thod.”
Lewis Horton paused slightly.
Then he heard Kiera Olsen say, “Help the Gill family find their daughter! The other day, the Gill family made a big show of looking for a piece of jade outside. I suspect they’re looking for their lost daughter. So, if we find out where the jade is, we could help them find their daughter. Judging by how much Lady Gill and Austin Gill dote on this daughter, the two families might just be able to turn enmity into friendship.”
Kiera took out her phone and opened the advertisent, but frowned as she looked at the jade, “Why does this jade feel so familiar?”
