“Finally ho~”

As soon as she stepped through the door, Ling Ning dropped her suitcase to the side, kicked off her boots without care, and flopped onto the couch. While most of her trip had been spent sitting, the ntal exhaustion had taken its toll.

It felt so good to be back ho.

“Mom, could you at least try to maintain so dignity?”

Ling Ye sighed as she glanced at her Mom sprawled out on the couch, skirt flipped up with no concern at all. Not that she minded—after all, it was a little bonus for her, even if it didn’t reveal much.

“There’s no one else here. I’ll clean up later. Let rest for a bit,” Ling Ning replied lazily.

Sighing again, Ling Ye decided not to press the issue. With so free ti on her hands, she headed to her room to write. Sleep wasn’t an option now, not after already napping for most of the day.

Shortly after Ling Ye retreated to her room, Ling Ning sat up with a sigh and sent a quick ssage to Su Ya, letting her know she had arrived ho safely. Then, she began unpacking.

Even though she’d only been gone a few days, the pile of dirty laundry waiting to be dealt with felt daunting.

anwhile, Su Ya, who was lounging in front of the TV, felt her phone vibrate. Glancing at the ssage, she told her Mom, “Mom, Ling Ning just texted. She said she’s ho now.”

“Oh? I didn’t expect her to leave so soon. I thought she’d stay a bit longer.”

After a mont of hesitation, Su Ya asked, “Mom, what do you think of Ling Ning?”

“She’s wonderful! She’s kind, a great cook, and handles housework with ease. Whoever marries her will have a truly blessed life.”

Su Ya couldn’t shake the feeling that her Mom was intentionally giving her a aningful look as she spoke.

“Xiao Ya, cherish the people around you. If you let them slip away, you’ll regret it forever. Whether you like n or won, your mom will always support you. As for your dad, leave him to !”

With that, Su Ya’s Mom left the room, leaving Su Ya stunned. What was that about? Had her Mom figured out her relationship with Ling Ning?

Impossible. She hadn’t given anything away, had she?

Deep in thought, Su Ya found herself questioning everything.

“Finally done!”

Ling Ning let out a breath of relief as she looked at the freshly washed laundry hanging on the balcony. Despite being ho, there was still so much to do.

After finishing, she quietly peeked into Ling Ye’s room. Seeing her daughter diligently typing away, she tiptoed out of the apartnt. It was still early, too soon to shop for dinner. Instead, she decided to visit Xia You.

Using the spare key she had, Ling Ning let herself into Xia You’s apartnt.

As expected, the living room was empty—Xia You was likely holed up in her room.

Knocking lightly on the bedroom door, Ling Ning called out cheerfully, “Xia You, I’m back!”

Her voice was followed by a series of clatters from inside the room. After so ti, Xia You appeared, wrapped in a blanket.

“Ling Ning~”

“What were you up to just now?”

Curious, Ling Ning stepped into the room and looked around. As always, it was impeccably tidy. Was Xia You hiding a ss just now?

“N-Nothing much. I was just playing a ga and accidentally tripped over a cord,” Xia You murmured, avoiding eye contact.

“What kind of ga? Mind if I join?”

Without waiting for an answer, Ling Ning approached the computer. The screen displayed an explicit scene from an 18 ga, freezing Ling Ning in place.

Xia You froze as well, realizing she had forgotten to close the ga in her rush to tidy up.

“So… Xia You likes this kind of ga?”

“It’s just a passing interest! But honestly, I prefer the real-life version~”

With that, Xia You shut the door, her gaze burning with intensity. After days without seeing Ling Ning, she could no longer hold back.

“Wait, Xia You, it’s still dayti! Can’t we wait until tonight?!”

Ling Ning instinctively backed away, only to find herself pressed against the bed.

Before she could react, Xia You closed the distance and pushed her onto the bed. “It’s not like we have school or anything. Afternoon is just fine~”

“But I still need to buy groceries later!”

“I’ll go with you afterward~”

“W-Wait…!”

“Ling Ning… let’s go buy groceries,” Xia You muttered softly, her earlier dominance replaced with a ek deanor.

“Fine.”

Ling Ning sighed, standing up unsteadily. Even after so ti had passed, her legs still felt weak.

The two left for the nearby market. Although the supermarket was closer, Ling Ning planned to cook a feast, and the market offered better options.

Noticing Ling Ning’s unsteady gait, Xia You asked curiously, “What’s wrong, Ling Ning?”

“What do you think?!”

Earlier, Ling Ning had accidentally grabbed Xia You’s underwear—T-back style, no less. How was she supposed to explain that?

Smiling faintly, Xia You quickened her pace to catch up.

After buying everything on her list, Ling Ning returned ho to find Ling Ye lounging on the couch, watching TV.

“Ye Ye, all done writing?”

“Yep~ Mom, where did you go just now?”

“I went grocery shopping with Xia You. I’ll make your favorite dishes tonight!”

Cheering excitedly, Ling Ye paused as she noticed sothing. “Mom, your stockings have a small tear in them.”

“Huh? Must’ve snagged them on sothing…” Ling Ning laughed awkwardly.
