“So full…”

Su Ya gently patted her slightly bulging stomach. The al her mother and Ling Ning had collaborated on was dangerously delicious. Before she realized it, she had eaten way too much, and now the discomfort of being overstuffed was all too real.

As Su Ya sat listlessly on the sofa, a hand suddenly appeared beside her, holding a small tablet.

Glancing up at Ling Ning with a confused expression, Su Ya’s questioning gaze said it all.

“Relax, it’s just a digestive tablet. Take it, and you’ll feel better in no ti.”

Ling Ning looked at Su Ya with mild exasperation. Just like in her previous life, Su Ya always forgot to consider her own limits when it ca to good food. Ling Ning was more than used to this by now.

After hesitating for a mont, Su Ya took the tablet from Ling Ning’s hand.

Ling Ning always seed so mysterious, as though she could see straight into Su Ya’s thoughts. Whenever Su Ya wanted to do sothing, Ling Ning had already prepared for it, just like now. Why was she like this?!

While Su Ya fell into deep thought, her mother walked over and said, “Since Ling Ning ca all this way, couldn’t you take her out for a bit?”

“Huh?! But it’s freezing outside, and there’s nothing fun around here anyway~”

Despite her protest, Su Ya begrudgingly got up and walked over to Ling Ning. “You heard what my mom said. Do you want to go out?”

“If it’s not too much trouble. Besides, a walk will help you feel better after eating too much.”

After saying this, Ling Ning turned to her daughter, who was engrossed in her phone. “Ye Ye, want to co for a walk?”

“Nope~”

Ling Ye rejected the invitation without hesitation.

The city was blanketed in snow, and while it looked beautiful, she hated the cold. The initial excitent she’d felt when the snow first fell had long faded, leaving her preferring the warmth of indoor heating and her gas.

At that mont, Ling Ye longed for the cozy comfort of the kotatsu back ho. With it, she wouldn’t need to leave its warmth all day—except for certain unavoidable necessities.

“Alright then, stay here and be good. I’ll be back soon.”

“Mm~”

With coats and scarves on, Ling Ning and Su Ya stepped out of the house.

The skies outside were overcast, with no sign of sunshine. It didn’t look like there would be a chance to bask in the sun today.

Su Ya wasn’t wrong—this small, third-tier city didn’t offer much in terms of entertainnt. Going out was little more than an excuse to stretch their legs.

Ling Ning took in her surroundings with curiosity. The area around Su Ya’s house was completely different from what she rembered in her previous life.

Seemingly struck by a thought, Ling Ning asked, “Xiao Ya, where’s your school?”

“What are you planning to do?”

“Nothing. I’m just curious to see where you used to study.” Ling Ning smiled warmly.

Though skeptical, Su Ya led Ling Ning to her old high school. After all, there wasn’t much Ling Ning could do there now, especially with the school closed for the holidays.

Ling Ning gazed at the school with interest, though the locked gates ant there was no way to explore further.

Just as they were about to leave, a sowhat familiar figure caught Ling Ning’s eye.

Xie Zeyu had been admiring the snowy scenery from a nearby building when he spotted Su Ya back at the school gate. But this ti, she wasn’t alone—a girl was with her. From a distance, he couldn’t make out who the other person was.

As he got closer, he froze in place. It was Ling Ning. Weren’t Su Ya and Ling Ning supposed to have broken up? Why were they here together?

“Hello there~”

Ling Ning greeted Xie Zeyu with a bright smile, though inwardly she mused that he might be trying to rekindle his past fla with Su Ya.

Like I’d let that happen.

“H-Hello,” Xie Zeyu stamred, forcing a smile. After greeting Ling Ning, he turned to Su Ya. “Xiao Ya, weren’t you here this morning? Does this an…”

He wanted to ask if Su Ya was dwelling on the past, but her response dashed his hopes.

“Ling Ning dragged here. She said she wanted to see my old school. Is there a problem with that?”

“N-No, not at all.”

After a mont’s hesitation, Xie Zeyu offered, “How about I treat you both to sothing warm? My treat.”

Before Su Ya could decline, Ling Ning interjected, “Sure, that sounds great~”

Her response surprised both Su Ya and Xie Zeyu. What kind of move was this? He’d thought for sure they would turn him down.

Recovering quickly, Xie Zeyu smiled. “Alright then, there’s a place nearby. Let’s go.”

At the milk tea shop, Ling Ning observed Su Ya as she ordered a milk cap tea. Following her lead, Ling Ning opted for a regular pearl milk tea—deliberately choosing sothing different from Su Ya’s.

Perhaps due to the cold weather, the shop wasn’t busy. The three of them sat in a quiet corner, the atmosphere thick with silence.

Breaking the tension, Ling Ning suddenly asked, “Xiao Ya, how’s your milk cap tea?”

“It’s fine. Why?”

“Just curious if it’s as good as the one we usually go to. Let have a sip, and you can try mine in return~”

Without much thought, Su Ya handed her cup to Ling Ning, taking Ling Ning’s in exchange. It was sothing they’d often done back at school.

Watching the exchange, Xie Zeyu pursed his lips. Weren’t Su Ya and Ling Ning supposed to be having issues? Why did they seem so close?

Ling Ning shot a glance at Xie Zeyu, a subtle smirk playing on her lips. Let’s see how long you stick around. Try rekindling the fla, and I’ll make sure you’re extinguished for good.
