“My dear sister, why aren’t you ready yet?”

Wei Suozhai sat in the living room, sighing helplessly. Girls were so troubleso—why did getting ready to leave take so long? Honestly, he would have preferred going to Bai Yiyue’s concert with his other friends, like Chu Feng or Qian Xu, instead of his sister.

He rembered Chu Feng ntioning at the maid café that she might attend the concert. If luck was on his side, he might just run into her there.

“What’s the rush, silly brother? With this level of impatience, you’ll never find a girlfriend,” quipped Wei Lan as she stepped out of her room, fully dressed.

Wei Suozhai grinned confidently. “Don’t joke around. How could soone like not find a girlfriend?”

Wei Lan shrugged with a look of disdain. She thought to herself that if her brother ever did find a girlfriend, it’d be a miracle. Heck, she’d probably find a girlfriend herself before he did. Wait—girlfriend? Was she watching too many yuri ani recently? Yes, that had to be it.

Noticing her sudden silence, Wei Suozhai asked, “What’s wrong, Xiao Lan?”

“Nothing. I was just wondering if you’ll end up with a boyfriend or a girlfriend,” she replied sarcastically.

“Huh!? Boyfriend? No way! With my taste, no guy could ever et my standards.”

“But you get so nervous when talking to girls that you stutter. Honestly, a cute boy might be a more realistic option.”

Wei Suozhai was at a loss for words. He quickly regained his composure, though, and grinned smugly. “Hmph, do you think I’m still the sa person I used to be? You underestimate , dear sister. I’ve overco my fear of talking to pretty girls!”

Wei Lan raised an eyebrow, skeptical. Growing up, her brother had always been nervous around unfamiliar girls. Unless it was soone he knew well, he’d trip over his words without fail.

Wei Suozhai, sensing her disbelief, cleared his throat. “You’ll see soon enough. I’ll prove it.”

“Fine. I’ll be watching.”

The siblings finally left the house around noon. Since their parents were away, they decided to eat out, watch a movie, and do so shopping before heading to the concert.

Walking through the bustling shopping district, Wei Suozhai scanned the area and said, “I know a good restaurant nearby. Let’s eat there.”

“Whatever you say. You’re paying, and you know I’m not picky.”

The restaurant wasn’t far and wasn’t too crowded yet. But as they entered, Wei Suozhai spotted two familiar figures: Chu Feng and Qian Xu. The two girls were in the middle of ordering their food.

Chu Feng and Qian Xu noticed him at the sa ti. Both sighed inwardly. They had co out early specifically to spend so quality ti together, and yet, fate had other plans.

anwhile, Wei Suozhai’s mood soared. This had to be destiny! What were the odds of running into them like this? Was he the protagonist of so cosmic story?

With a beaming smile, Wei Suozhai approached their table, his sister in tow. “Hello, ladies~”

“You really are like a ghost that won’t go away,” Qian Xu said flatly. She had planned to confess to Chu Feng today, but now that seed impossible.

“Good afternoon. Want to join us?” Chu Feng asked warmly. To her, Wei Suozhai was a good friend, so inviting him to join didn’t seem like a problem.

It was then that Chu Feng noticed the girl standing behind him. Judging by her appearance, she seed like a middle schooler. Curious, Chu Feng asked, “Hey, Suozhai, is this your sister? Don’t tell she’s your girlfriend—three years minimum, maximum life sentence, you know.”

“Don’t joke around. This is my sister, Wei Lan.”

After they were all seated and introduced, Wei Lan found herself curiously observing Chu Feng and Qian Xu. These two young won were stunning, exuding a certain charm that she couldn’t quite place. She was especially surprised that her brother—of all people—knew such beauties. Wasn’t this the sa brother who could barely talk to ordinary girls?

Wei Suozhai, catching his sister’s questioning look, gave her a smug smile as if to say, “See? I wasn’t lying.”

“Rua~” Wei Lan muttered under her breath before pulling out her phone to play a ga. Honestly, she couldn’t rule out the possibility that these two “ladies” might actually be “pretty boys.” Then again, with her brother’s personality, he might just hit it off with a charming boy too.

While Wei Lan was engrossed in her ga, a gentle voice interrupted her. “Wei Lan, would you like to order sothing?”

Startled, Wei Lan turned to find Chu Feng looking at her kindly. Her flawless features left Wei Lan montarily awestruck. Even as a fellow girl (?), she couldn’t help but admire her beauty. Television stars didn’t hold a candle to her.

Seeing Wei Lan frozen in place, Chu Feng assud she was unsure about what to order. She patiently began explaining the nu items.

Watching this, Wei Suozhai’s eyes glead with envy. What a sight to behold! He suddenly wished he could trade places with his sister.
