“Ling Ning rembered! Wahaha~”

Bai Yiyue sat on the couch, a silly grin plastered on her face.

Ling Ning glanced at her overly obsessed childhood friend with an expressionless face. Was rembering a bit of the past really worth getting this excited over? She sighed, shaking her head. But on second thought, if Su Ya ever rembered her past life, Ling Ning suspected her own reaction wouldn’t be much better than Bai Yiyue’s.

anwhile, Ling Ye clung to one of her mom’s arms, staring blankly at the grinning Bai Yiyue. She still hadn’t figured out what had just happened. Was this older sister crazy or sothing?

After a while, Bai Yiyue snapped out of it and, ignoring Ling Ye’s sharp glare, wrapped herself around Ling Ning’s other arm, resting her head on Ling Ning’s shoulder.

Ling Ning sighed helplessly. “Can’t you two let go? It’s really hot. If you want to hug soone, hug each other!”

“I would never hug her!”

“I’d love to hug Ye Ye, but she won’t let !”

Rolling her eyes, Ling Ning sighed again. It was supposed to be a perfect vacation, yet why did she feel so exhausted? Shrugging both of them off, she stood up and limped toward her room.

“You two have fun. I’m going to bed.”

“I’ll sleep with you!”

“No way! I’ll sleep with Mom!”

Though Ling Ning had claid she was going to sleep, she had no such intention. Instead, she planned to browse the web, watch videos, and maybe write a little. The recent comics by Chen Ruo had been too intense—writing sothing might help calm her nerves.

In truth, her stockpile of chapters was running low. If she didn’t write soon, she’d be bombarded with razor blades from readers. Imagining the scene of being torn apart like a salted fish, Ling Ning shuddered.

Putting on her headphones, she ignored the arguing outside and opened her go-to site, “Bilibili.” As always, she navigated to the gaming section and clicked on Xia You’s latest video.

What? Write first? Inspiration cos from watching videos, doesn’t it? How else could she find her creative spark?

Flawless logic. Absolutely convincing.

Outside the room, Ling Ye and Bai Yiyue stared at the closed door in shock. How had things ended like this? They hadn’t had nearly enough cuddle ti with Ling Ning yet!

“This is your fault! If you weren’t so clingy, Mom wouldn’t have gone to bed!”

“No, it’s not! It’s not my fault!”

At that mont, Bai Yiyue’s phone rang. She glanced at the screen to see “Hao Shuai” calling. Raising an eyebrow, she answered.

“Hello, Yiyue?”

“Yes? What’s up?”

“You’re back in S City, right? Got ti to et up?”

“Now?”

“Yeah, I’ve got sothing urgent to discuss.”

Looking at Ling Ning’s closed door, Bai Yiyue sighed softly. “Alright. Where?”

“The usual spot.”

“Got it.”

After hanging up, Bai Yiyue turned to Ling Ye and said, “I’ve got sothing to take care of. Tell Ling Ning I’ll co back tomorrow.”

“Sure.”

Before leaving, Bai Yiyue touched up her makeup in the bathroom, donned her sunglasses, and hailed a cab to her destination.

The usual spot was a small, unassuming restaurant. Despite its modest appearance, the food was excellent, and the owner was familiar with both her and Hao Shuai, ensuring their privacy.

After a brief greeting with the owner, Bai Yiyue headed to her regular booth. Inside, she found a broodingly handso man—Hao Shuai.

“Hey, Yiyue! Long ti no see~” Hao Shuai greeted her with a faint smile.

“Don’t give that ‘long ti no see’ nonsense. We saw each other two days ago! What’s so urgent?”

Hao Shuai’s cheerful expression darkened. With a sigh, he confessed, “I broke up with my boyfriend.”

“What!?” Bai Yiyue nearly spat out the water she had just sipped. Her shock wasn’t because Hao Shuai had a boyfriend—she’d known he was gay for ages and considered him her confidant because of it. What stunned her was the breakup.

It didn’t make sense. They had been secretly dating for nearly five years. How could they break up so suddenly?

“What happened?”

“His family found out about us. They told him that if he didn’t break up with , they’d out as gay.” Hao Shuai sighed again. “If you were in my shoes, what would you do?”

“? I’d keep dating them, of course. Becoming a star was always about finding her, and now that I have, I don’t care if the world knows I’m into won. What other people think doesn’t matter to ,” Bai Yiyue replied nonchalantly.

Hao Shuai chuckled bitterly. “I wish we had your mindset. It’d make things so much easier.”

“Oh~ This position is amazing.”

Ling Ning muttered as she stared intently at her screen, rubbing her legs together. The monitor displayed a rather explicit scene between two beautiful won.

Why was she watching this? Well, she had been searching for inspiration to write. Soone had shared a mysterious file in a group chat, and her curiosity had led her to download it. Now, she couldn’t tear herself away. The quality was top-notch!

Completely engrossed, Ling Ning didn’t notice when the locked door creaked open, and Ling Ye peeked inside.

Ling Ye had intended to sneak in with a spare key to cuddle with her mom but froze when she saw Ling Ning sitting at the computer.

Her gaze shifted to the screen, and the mont she registered what she was looking at, she blurted out, “Ahhh!”
