“D-Don’t get so worked up…”
“How can I not get worked up? That girl had the audacity to do sothing like that right in front of !” Su Ya lowered her head, her heart weighed down with frustration. She had hoped that what she saw earlier was just a misunderstanding, but now it seed undeniable. How had things co to this?
Ling Ning sighed softly. Su Ya might have been too agitated to notice, but Ling Ning had observed everything quite clearly.
That beautiful “girl” from earlier was almost certainly a boy. Ling Ning had honed her skills in voice imitation and could detect subtle inconsistencies. The “girl’s” voice had a faintly unnatural tone.
And then there was the chest—too flat. Even for soone with a petite figure, a girl would never have an Adam’s apple.
Ling Ning couldn’t help but wonder—had Su Ya been NTR’d by a boy?
The thought left a bitter taste. Su Ya was beautiful and kind—why would Xie Zeyu choose a boy over her? Could it be that after dating Su Ya, Xie Zeyu realized his true preferences?
The possibility wasn’t far-fetched.
Shaking her head lightly, Ling Ning pushed the thoughts aside. This wasn’t the ti to dwell on such things. The priority was to comfort Su Ya.
“Ling Ning… Am I just not attractive at all?”
“What? Why would you say that?”
“We’ve been dating for barely a week, and he’s already moved on…” Su Ya mumbled, her head hanging low.
Ling Ning chuckled softly. She grabbed Su Ya’s shoulders, leaning in close to look her in the eye. “That just ans he has no taste. Xiao Ya is beautiful and incredibly attractive.”
“R-Really?” Su Ya stamred, caught off guard by Ling Ning’s sudden closeness.
“Of course. No matter what others might think, to , you’re the prettiest girl I know. And that’s the truth.”
Su Ya’s cheeks flushed involuntarily. She had heard plenty of complints about her looks before, but coming from Ling Ning, it felt different. Why was that?
“Oh, by the way, you asked a question at the bubble tea shop earlier. Do you still want to know the answer?” Ling Ning asked.
“Huh?”
“It’s because… we were lovers in a past life. After crossing ti and space, I finally found you again!” Ling Ning declared with a serious expression.
Su Ya blinked in surprise before breaking into a soft smile. “You’re teasing again.”
Ling Ning’s eyes flickered briefly with a hint of sadness before she masked it with a bright smile. “Xiao Ya looks best when she’s smiling.”
Su Ya puffed her cheeks in mock annoyance. “Stop beating around the bush and just tell already!”
“Are you sure you want to know? No regrets?”
Sothing about Ling Ning’s serious expression made Su Ya feel nervous. But her curiosity outweighed her apprehension. She nodded firmly. She genuinely wanted to understand why Ling Ning treated her so well.
After glancing around to make sure the area was relatively secluded, Ling Ning suddenly grabbed Su Ya’s shoulders. “Xiao Ya, you want to know why I’ve been so kind to you? It’s simple—I like you. From the mont I first saw you.”
“Wha—?”
Su Ya froze in place, completely stunned. She hadn’t anticipated this outco at all. But the soft sensation on her lips quickly reminded her that this was no dream—it was real.

“Where do you think they might’ve gone?”
Xie Zeyu stood outside the bubble tea shop, looking around anxiously. He and Wei Niang had searched the surrounding area but found no trace of his girlfriend.
“I have no idea. I checked the area over there but didn’t see anything,” Wei Niang replied with a shrug.
As they pondered their next move, they overheard a conversation between two passersby.
“Those two girls just now were so pretty.”
“So what? You didn’t even try talking to them.”
“Co on, you need to read the room. Didn’t you see the look on one of their faces? She was clearly upset. Trying to chat her up in that mood would just get you shut down hard.”
Xie Zeyu raised an eyebrow. Based on their description, the two girls were likely Su Ya and Ling Ning. Without a word, he grabbed Wei Niang and headed in the direction the passersby had co from.
After searching for a while, they finally spotted Su Ya and Ling Ning in a small alley. But what Xie Zeyu saw left him utterly speechless.
His girlfriend was kissing her friend.
“Excuse ?”
Xie Zeyu’s mind went blank as he stared at the scene unfolding before him. Why was his girlfriend kissing her friend? He hadn’t even kissed her yet!
Wei Niang, who had caught up, raised an eyebrow at the sight. “Well, I didn’t expect this. They’re teammates after all.”
Noticing their audience, Ling Ning ended the kiss with a lingering air of satisfaction. A silver strand connected their lips, glistening under the dim alley light.
Turning to face Xie Zeyu, Ling Ning smiled seductively. For a brief mont, she felt like the classic villainess in a soap opera, the one who swoops in to steal the main characters’ happiness.
But for Su Ya, she didn’t mind playing that role.
Just then, Su Ya snapped out of her daze. Flustered, she pushed Ling Ning away, glanced at Xie Zeyu, and then ran off without saying a word.
Ling Ning imdiately chased after her, leaving Xie Zeyu standing in stunned silence. He turned to Wei Niang and asked bitterly, “What do you do when you see your girlfriend kissing her friend?”
“Of course, you forgive her.”

Ling Ning followed Su Ya all the way to the girls’ dormitory. Only after ensuring Su Ya safely entered her room did Ling Ning breathe a sigh of relief.
“Maybe I was too impulsive,” she thought. But she couldn’t help herself anymore—she was reaching her limit.
