“I wonder if anyone I know will be in our class~”

Ling Ning mused as she walked briskly toward the classroom with Xia You. Though they had left early, the classroom was quite far, and if they didn’t pick up the pace, they might not make it on ti.

Taking the campus bus was an option, but the sight of the overcrowded buses quickly made Ling Ning decide against it. She would rather walk than squeeze into a packed bus just to save a few minutes.

“Probably not,” Xia You replied softly. She wasn’t concerned about familiar faces in class. As long as Ling Ning was by her side, nothing else mattered. The main reason Xia You had chosen this major was to increase her chances of being in the sa class as Ling Ning. And now, that hope had co true—it was truly the best outco.

Ling Ning thought for a mont. It was true. Aside from Xia You, her other close friends were in different majors. But that didn’t bother her much. They were all at the sa university, and having Xia You in her class wasn’t a bad consolation.

Not far behind them, a group of unnoticed male students was lingering in a discreet corner, caras in hand. One of them, a bespectacled boy, suddenly beca animated.

“Look over there! Those two beauties—they’re definitely new students this year!” he exclaid excitedly.

“Of course we see them. We’re not blind,” replied a short boy holding a tablet, his tone indifferent.

The bespectacled boy adjusted his glasses. “If my mory serves right, these two are undoubtedly freshn. Gangzi!”

A nondescript boy responded, “Yeah?”

“I want you to investigate those two girls right away. They’re strong contenders for the campus beauty list.”

Gangzi nodded and started moving toward Ling Ning and Xia You. Erging from the shadows, he approached so discreetly that no one around seed to notice him.

The bespectacled boy smirked in satisfaction. Gangzi was one of the aces of the news departnt, known for his unassuming nature and low presence. Sending him to investigate the two beauties was the perfect choice.

“Alright, stop daydreaming. We’ve got new targets.”

“Where? Let see! This year’s freshn are of such high quality. The campus beauty list is going to be fiercely competitive.”

“And isn’t that exactly what we want?”

Their cheerful laughter echoed through the inconspicuous corner, drawing puzzled glances from passersby.

“What’s wrong, Xia You?” Ling Ning asked when Xia You suddenly stopped walking.

Glancing back at the passing crowd, Xia You frowned slightly. She felt as if soone was following them, but seeing nothing out of the ordinary, she dismissed the thought. Maybe she was just being overly sensitive.

“It’s nothing. Let’s keep going.”

“Alright~”

Not far away, Gangzi wiped the sweat from his forehead. For the first ti, his normally stealthy movents had almost been detected. Despite maintaining a considerable distance, the delicate-looking Xia You had nearly noticed him. Clearly, there was more to her than t the eye.

But it didn’t matter. He already had the photos he needed. All that was left was to find out their major. The rest could be handled by his departnt head.

When Ling Ning and Xia You reached the classroom door, Ling Ning let out a sigh of relief. They had nearly gone the wrong way earlier. If it had been Chen Ruo leading them, she would’ve been lost long ago.

Even from outside the classroom, Ling Ning could hear the chatter inside. As they walked in, the conversations quieted, and many students turned to look at them. The once-noisy room was suddenly much quieter.

Feeling the weight of the gazes, Xia You instinctively grabbed Ling Ning’s arm and positioned herself slightly behind her. She still wasn’t used to being the center of attention. If only she had so armor like a Sun Knight to hide behind!

Ling Ning, on the other hand, was completely unfazed. Compared to the pressure of walking the runway, this was nothing.

“Whoa, two beauties just walked in! They must be from our class, right? Or are they lost?”

“Shut up! Last ti, you said the sa thing, and the girl really was in the wrong class!”

“I’d bet on it this ti. If they’re not from this class, I’ll treat everyone to dinner.”

As whispers and murmurs filled the room, Ling Ning scanned the classroom and sighed. The male-to-female ratio was skewed heavily toward n. Weren’t more won supposed to be in this field of study? It was a stark contrast to her past life.

Shaking her head in resignation, she led Xia You to an empty spot and sat down.

They hadn’t been seated for long when a bold male student approached with a cheeky grin. “Hey there, beauties! How about introducing yourselves?”

The room fell silent as many of the other boys pricked up their ears.

“I’m Ling Ning, and this is Xia You,” she said simply.

“Great nas! I’m Tian Tian—sky as in heaven. Please don’t get it wrong!” the boy replied enthusiastically.

Ling Ning rolled her eyes. She hadn’t even spelled out her na, so how did he know it was a great na? Today’s youth sure were bold… Also, his na gave her an odd sense of déjà vu.

In an unassuming corner of the classroom, Gangzi nodded to himself before quietly slipping away. With his mission complete, there was no need to linger—especially with class about to start.

The mont Gangzi left, Xia You visibly relaxed. That unnerving feeling of being watched had finally disappeared.

Just as Tian Tian was about to ask more questions, a beautiful woman entered the classroom. She wore a simple business suit that accentuated her mature, elegant figure. Her long legs were encased in black stockings, and her hair was neatly tied up. A faint smile graced her face as she addressed the class.

“Hello, everyone. I’m your advisor, Bai Jie.”
