Fresh from her shower, Ling Ning sighed as she heard her phone ring. The ringtone, set by her daughter during one of her playful monts, always left her feeling a bit embarrassed whenever it rang.
Honestly, even the Magical Girl Xiao Ai opening the would’ve been better!
But since it was her daughter who set it, a bit of embarrassnt wasn’t the end of the world. What could she do?
Even though she could easily afford a new phone now, Ling Ye refused to let go of her old one, insisting it was her first phone and had sentintal value. Ling Ning couldn’t argue with her reasoning.
Still, Ling Ning was planning to buy her daughter a new phone soon, or perhaps replace her own. After all, her current phone had been with her for ages, and her financial situation was much better now. Rewarding herself with a high-end phone seed perfectly reasonable.
She picked up her phone and saw Li Qian’s na on the caller ID.
“Hello~ Xiao Qian—uh, Xiao Qian Qian. Calling so late—are you missing ?” Ling Ning teased with a playful smile.
“I-I am not missing you!”
Hearing her tone, Li Qian was tempted to hit sothing. Why did every phone conversation with Ling Ning feel so aggravating? It had to be that infuriatingly teasing voice!
After composing herself, Li Qian said, “Do you rember Zhang Hao?”
“Zhang Hao?” Ling Ning furrowed her brows in thought. The na sounded familiar. Wasn’t that the na of her class monitor in middle school? “Ah, I rember. Why are you bringing him up?”
“He called tonight about a middle school reunion in a few days. I wanted to ask if you’d go with .”
“Not going.”
Ling Ning declined without hesitation.
She had no desire to et her middle school classmates. Back then, she’d been practically invisible in the class—a complete wallflower with no friends. In fact, so of the girls had even bullied her.

Suspicious, Ling Ning narrowed her eyes.
Li Qian, of course, knew all about Ling Ning’s drastic transformation from middle school to high school—particularly her senior year. She also knew how Ling Ning had been mistreated during those earlier years.
That was exactly why she wanted Ling Ning to attend. She couldn’t wait to see their classmates’ reactions to the radiant, confident woman Ling Ning had beco. Their expressions were bound to be priceless.
“What could I possibly be hiding? I just want soone to go with . And you’re the only familiar face from middle school, so co on~”
Hearing Li Qian’s pleading tone, Ling Ning felt goosebumps rise all over.
“But weren’t there those three guys from class? What were their nas—Lu Renjia, Lu Renyi, and Lu Renbing? And what about the girl with the big round face? What was her na again?”
Ling Ning almost said “pancake face” but thought better of it, deciding it might be too harsh—even if the girl had always talked behind her back.
“The one with the round face? Oh, you an Pancake Face. But I’m not close to any of them—you’re the one I’m closest to.”
“How about this—co to the reunion with , and I’ll treat you to a big dinner afterward. I heard there’s a new BBQ place on White Study Road that’s supposed to be amazing.”
Li Qian wasn’t interested in dragging the conversation out. She decided to go straight for her trump card. While the restaurant was a bit pricey, her finances were stable enough to handle it.
“Deal. Ti, place, dress code!”
Without a mont’s hesitation, Ling Ning agreed. Free food was worth everything. A middle school reunion? She wasn’t scared of so forr kids.
Li Qian’s lips curved into a triumphant smile. “Alright then. Three days from now, et at my building’s lobby. And make sure to dress up—channel your inner model.”
“‘Model vibe’? What does that even an? You just want to dress up nicely, right? Got it~”
“Exactly. It’s a deal~”
After hanging up, Li Qian flopped onto her bed with a satisfied grin, rolling back and forth in excitent. She could hardly wait. Normally, three days would fly by, but now they felt unbearably slow. If only the reunion were tomorrow!
Two rolls later, she suddenly rembered she hadn’t taken her shower yet. She’d been so caught up in her call with Ling Ning that it had completely slipped her mind.
Sitting in the living room, Li ng watched her sister erge from her room with an unusually cheerful expression. She frowned slightly. At dinner, Li Qian had been all gloom and doom. How had a phone call transford her mood so drastically?

Noticing her sister’s expression, Li Qian chuckled lightly. “I just spoke with Ling Ning. She agreed to co with to my middle school reunion.”
“What?! A reunion?!”
Hearing her sister’s words, Li ng felt a pang of unease. If it had been a casual shopping trip, she could’ve tagged along. But a middle school reunion? She wouldn’t even have the chance. She and Li Qian had gone to different schools after middle school.
Li Qian, of course, had no qualms about sharing this information—precisely because of that fact.
“My dear sister, you’re amazing!” Li ng ground out through gritted teeth.

Li Qian’s grin widened with satisfaction. She’d finally avenged herself for the earlier humiliation.
