“How did things end up like this? I was…” Chu Feng sighed, slumped over the bar counter, radiating a deep, dejected aura.
“Why the long face, Xiao Chu Feng? If sothing’s bothering you, tell your big sis about it so I can cheer you up,” Ling Ning teased, spotting Chu Feng’s glum expression and sensing an opportunity for so fun. She cheerfully brought Xiao Dong Xue over to the bar for a chat since there weren’t any custors around.
Since her daughter was busy writing, Ling Ning had only brought Dong Xue along. Even if she hadn’t, Dong Xue probably would’ve tagged along anyway.
“Sigh…”
Chu Feng sighed again and reluctantly explained, “I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday.”
Yesterday, Chu Feng’s girlfriend of one month had broken up with him, claiming that he was just too pretty. Every ti they went out together, she felt overwheld by the attention he drew. She’d decided she’d rather date Chu Feng’s close female friend instead.
When Chu Feng heard this from his—no, now ex-girlfriend, it felt like his entire world had dimd. He’d lost count of how many girls had dumped him for being “too pretty.” It wouldn’t have been so bad if it had been a normal breakup, but this ti, he’d been NTR’d by his best friend!
This friend was a close female friend from school. The fact that his best friend had effectively “stolen” his girlfriend left him feeling strangely sad.

“I knew you were about to say it’s a miracle I even got a girlfriend, don’t try to deny it—I heard you!” Chu Feng retorted, exasperated.
“Oh well…”
With a resigned sigh, Chu Feng shook it off. He wasn’t exactly crushed by the breakup; it was sothing he’d grown accustod to after so many tis. Life went on, and he’d keep looking for a girlfriend.
He glanced up at the calendar on the wall, eyeing the date for next weekend. “I’ve decided. I’ll find a girlfriend at the upcoming convention—one who’s serious about a relationship.”
“Xiao Chu Feng, you’re going to the convention too?”
“Of course! It’s the biggest one in a while. Lots of people from all over are coming, so there’ll definitely be tons of cute girls.”
Chu Feng could already picture himself strolling through the convention with a cute girl by his side—pure bliss.
“So, what are you planning to wear to the convention?”
“Obviously I’ll wear sothing masc…”
Chu Feng stopped mid-sentence, reconsidering. Talking to unfamiliar girls made him awkward and flustered; his face would inexplicably flush, and he’d start stamring. For a guy, it just ca off as embarrassingly unmanly, but if he dressed as a girl, it would seem like a girl’s innocent shyness.
“Actually, Xiao Chu Feng, I think a dress would suit you perfectly for the convention.”
“But how would I pick up girls if I’m in a dress?” Chu Feng asked, puzzled.
Hearing this, Ling Ning sighed and said, “Let’s be honest here. If you don’t wear a dress, won’t you have a hard ti even talking to girls, let alone flirting? But if you wear a dress, you can strike up conversations with girls and slowly get to know their interests. You could even flirt without them suspecting a thing and have an excuse to go into the ladies’ room! Isn’t that ideal?”
“Besides, with your looks and build—even if you’re a bit lacking in the chest departnt—who could tell you’re a guy in a dress? And flat-chested girls are a rare treasure!”
“This…” Chu Feng suddenly thought Ling Ning was making a lot of sense.
“If that’s not enough, you could always go a step further. Once you know a girl’s interests, it’ll be much easier to approach her as a guy. You’ll already know what she likes, so if you still can’t win her over, well, that’s on you.”
“Alright… I’ll wear a dress to the convention! Thanks for the advice, Sister Ling Ning. But please, keep this a secret—don’t tell my sister, or she’ll never let hear the end of it.”
Convinced by Ling Ning’s logic, Chu Feng was swayed. He’d wear a dress to the convention next weekend and could already imagine himself blending in perfectly among the girls.
Ling Ning nodded, her expression one of satisfaction. Xiao Chu Feng was surprisingly easy to convince, and it seed there’d be so entertaining scenes at the convention.
Xiao Dong Xue looked up at Ling Ning, then back at Chu Feng, who looked more determined than ever. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for the “big brother in a dress.”
After Chu Feng left, looking excited, Dong Xue tugged on Ling Ning’s skirt and asked, “Boys, dresses… ow?”
Ling Ning gently patted Dong Xue’s soft hair and smiled. “Xiao Xue, it’s perfectly normal for boys to wear dresses. So if you see a boy in a dress, don’t be surprised, okay?”
Dong Xue nodded, fully convinced. In her eyes, everything Ling Ning said was true, so there was no need to question it.
