926: Chapter 912: Exotic Realm Adventure 926: Chapter 912: Exotic Realm Adventure “You guys, you’re not just here to tease , are you?”

In the modest-sized room, three n dressed in outlandish clothes, each with well-developed muscles, looked like a trio of masters, but they couldn’t quite lift their heads in front of this seemingly frail young man.

After all, this was the debt lord himself, the sa person who had just pulled them out of the Fire Pit.

“Judging by your ages, you should all be my seniors, but how could you even dare to sign such an agreent?”

Lu Ping’an patted a stack of papers in his hand, which were the indenture contracts he had just redeed.

At the young man’s slam on the table, the others trembled but still had no rebuttal, because there really wasn’t anything to rebut…

“We didn’t expect that an ordinary contract in this damned place would actually be Contract Paper…” The muscle-bound man known as Liu Xing, who was the first to deal with Lu Ping’an, wore a face full of helplessness and innocence, looking like a forty-year-old child.

“…Even if it was just Contract Paper, they used the most disgusting ‘contract patterns’ to cover up the target of the contract…” This gentleman, Mu Ranyi, had a rather young and sowhat handso face, but he had been caught in a sorry state, if any later, he would’ve truly been sold off.

“…The worst part is, the contract pointed to that Firebird, my god, how could we dare to tear up the contract!”

This ca from the youngest of the Trio, Lu Feifei, who appeared to be in his twenties and was the last to arrive, probably the only one who hadn’t suffered the “mischief” yet.

Seeing that the three old guys still managed to argue, Lu Ping’an laughed in frustration.

To pull them out, his working capital was completely wiped out.

“…Perhaps, I need you to continue working, at least to pay back what you owe .”

Work?

What work?

What could they possibly do in this godforsaken place?

Imdiately, they all beca docile, not lifting their heads, dutifully listening to the “young junior’s” scolding.

But in truth, taking a closer look at these Contract Papers, these three unlucky fellows were not unjustly tricked; in fact, this wasn’t specifically a sche against them.

“…Indeed, who would’ve thought, these cheap Contract Papers, costing only a Kadund for at least a hundred, could actually borrow the certification of the Firebird.”

Contract Paper is an Earth term, but in Lu Ping’an’s eyes, the local standard A4-sized contract looked no different from those on Earth.

Its performance is extrely inferior, it can’t even accomplish what the most basic “Red Letter Contract” on Earth can do.

Lu Ping’an felt that the price was a rip-off, but the emblem representing a certain Great existence gave it more validity than the most expensive of contracts.

“…Perhaps, this is the keystone of this civilization’s stability.”

Cheap “Contract Paper,” available everywhere and very affordable, could be used for a common employnt contract.

The predicant of these three unfortunate souls was not entirely due to soone conning them (there were those conning, but not the main reason); ultimately, it was due to their arrogance in ignoring the local rules and contracts.

As “outsiders,” and as Extraordinaries, they did not take the local social rules and contracts seriously.

Short of cash?

Able to borrow?

Uh, sign a labor or purchase contract, and you can take the goods first and pay later?

The trivial Power in those “Contract Papers” was even more beneath their notice; conversely, the Contract Paper that might bind Mortals gave them an illusion of seeing through everything, boldly signing and taking the money, then planning to default, even though they were warned of the dire consequences of breaking the contract.

Had it not been for these guys getting caught, Lu Ping’an would have had no clue that the decorative simple patterns on these Contract Papers actually represented a Great existence.

What happened next goes without saying; getting conned was one thing, but their reckless spending was the primary cause.

By the ti they realized they had spent the money and lacked the ability to earn it, needing to fulfill the contracts to repay the debts, it was already too late.

Moreover, they couldn’t even pay the default fines and compensations.

With so “well-intentioned” advice, they naturally headed to the profession that generated money the quickest locally, and it was a case of “fellow countryn eting fellow countryn” at the Big Bird Bar…

“Tragic, truly tragic…”

“…Not only tragic but also embarrassing, isn’t it?

If this spreads, how can anyone face society?”

Lu Ping’an felt so trepidation.

In the rural life, there was no need for contracts.

Even though the inco was virtually nonexistent, the expenses were extrely low.

After integrating into the local society, a few barely third-rate poetry collections unexpectedly earned him a rather substantial sum of money (there were no pirated versions locally, and handwritten knowledge copyrights were quite expensive).

And once he had money, Lu Ping’an obviously didn’t stop…

if he stopped, his team would still find sothing to do.

A high-quality biological industry chain had to produce so results to prove to the boss that they weren’t embezzling funds.

The research into local herbal dicines and demon flesh naturally led to the developnt of various low-level healing potions.

After confirming they were quite effective, Lu Ping’an “inexpensively” sold them to the surrounding villagers.

This was quite a rare “rural healer”, which, while further verifying his persona as a “knowledgeable rich young man”, also made him much more of a revered Na Scholar among the locals.

Originally, most people in the village could only endure sickness.

Now that soone was selling dicines to cure diseases, it naturally allowed Lu Ping’an to make a good profit.

After making money, one naturally wouldn’t think about taking shortcuts, and wouldn’t end up in the sa dire straits as the unfortunate ones before him…

They were actually among the unluckiest ones.

With enough caution, they wouldn’t have fallen to such lows.

“Soone had co before…”

“…But they had no money…”

“…They ran off, those heartless people.”

Alright, it seed that Lu Ping’an wasn’t the first “savior” these three unlucky fellows had encountered, but he might be the first one capable of pulling them out of their trouble.

But to be honest, Lu Ping’an was actually more interested in those Contract Papers…

“Can I take it with ?”

“No…

The ‘Firebird’s’ signature is effective even across worlds, but if you truly cross into a multi-universe and still borrow her power without being her ‘authorized’, even if she’s usually good-tempered, she might explode on the spot.

In all respects, this is blasphemy.”

What would happen if the Firebird exploded on the spot?

He thought about it and decided it was better not to try.

Such high-level beings could trace the cause and effect, and any trickery was basically a death sentence.

This also proved that, perhaps these simple and ugly Contract Papers were actually recognized by the Firebird.

That ant…

“A true multi-universe civilization that adheres to the spirit of contracts…”

When such Contract Papers were everywhere, it ant that most transactions in this multi-universe at least adhered to the “spirit of contracts”.

Of course, this wasn’t omnipotent.

There were too many tricks and techniques that could circumvent the explicit terms of contracts, and the Firebird couldn’t possibly pay too much attention to every contract.

More often than not, violators of contracts were simply crushed…

But when a society has a literal “Consensus” that everyone fundantally believes in contracts and trade, it’s destined to be much more stable than other worlds ruled by the law of the jungle or the dark forest law.

Lu Ping’an shook his head.

This was sothing you couldn’t envy.

A Twelve-Pillar being truly could keep a civilization safely in the palm of their hand…

Don’t say that relying on a single “existence” for an entire world is unreliable and unstable.

If your world is ruined, that “existence” will still be just fine.

“…Do a favor, will you?”

This ti, Lu Ping’an spared no expense to save the unfortunate ones before him, and it certainly wasn’t out of charity.
