363: Chapter 243: Hostility 363: Chapter 243: Hostility Baman Zhen, nicknad Little Man (only called by Su Zhizhu), actually had quite a simple past and personal history.
Eat, sleep, fight, these simple and direct components ford most of her life.
Like most of the Exotic Races mixed-blood children, her birth could not be said to be normal.
She grew up in the beast swarm of the jungle…at least, she had never t her mother, and no one had told her about her father’s appearance.
It is still a mystery how the orphan, or rather, the child with parents who were no different from an orphan, managed to survive in the dangerous mountain range of the Demonized Jungle area, until she entered human society at the age of fifteen or so.
However, contrary to most people’s impressions of her, the girl who could barely speak was not stupid…on the contrary, perhaps due to her innate genetic mutations, her natural intelligence was even above the average human level.
“Why, need to think?”
“Eat, steal.
Don’t like, kill.”
“Survive, beco stronger.”
It took her only a year to learn the human language, she simply had her own logic – the jungle logic of the strong surviving and the weak dying.
This logic worked perfectly in the region where she lived.
The weak died, and the strong, fed on the flesh of the weak, only to face tomorrow.
Why talk more?
Would you talk to a piece of at?
When she returned to human society, it was clear that this logic had so problems…and so, she beca a war rcenary.
It was during this period that her purity and strength attracted Su Zhizhu, who was only a 2-tier fighter at the ti, and the two eventually beca partners.
Despite appearances, the main decision-maker between the two was the “fighter” who would hardly say more than a few words in front of others.
With her wild instincts, she sensed threats, seized profits and opportunities, and step by step reached where they were today.
But now, she felt a bit anxious….
“Want, no money….can’t rob!”
Baman Zhen was very annoyed.
The bizarre rules of this “Trading Land” were like her natural enemy.
She was used to not being able to use violence in human society, but this state where she couldn’t even exert force made her extrely uncomfortable.
“Let…..go.”
She instinctively drove away strangers who got too close to her.
The feeling of closeness and the sensation behind her as if soone was breathing made her incredibly uncomfortable.
If they were outside, this would have been enough to provoke her to swing her fists.
“Ghost…..place.”
Her stress and irritation were accumulating, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave.
Why?
The reason behind it was the wall.
“I can’t believe we found such a treasure in this small place, there must be a Rule-level strongman or Taboo items behind this.”
Su Zhizhu was knowledgeable and had no hesitation in changing the set route once they discovered this “Trading Land.”
Originally, they were planning to go to the large city of Nanxiu City nearby to find business and fun, but now they intended to stay here for a while.
However, they found themselves penniless…
They had no steady ans of obtaining “Life-points” or the “New Magic Plants” that could be exchanged for points.
They did own a few Taboo items, but they were too useful to sell.
Even if they sold them directly to the Trading Land, the Trading Land wouldn’t be interested.
Perhaps other custors might be tempted, but they couldn’t co up with the amount of life-points they needed.
As a last resort, Su Zhizhu could only set up a stall and take out so spare Taboo items and spoils of war to see if they could find any fools.
However, although many people had been looking at their goods on the way there, none had bought any.
“Is the price too high, or is it like the rumors say, very few people have points…”
She was sowhat helpless.
This was already the third day in a row they had been coming here.
If there was still no progress, they might have to give up.
“…Perhaps, we could discuss a trade deal.”
Suddenly, a figure wearing a white dove mask appeared in front of the two.
“Is it the White Dove Boss?”
“He finally showed up again, is he interested in the newcors’ goods?”
“I’ve seen their rchandise.
It’s very average, and they’re asking for a high price.”
“Tsk, those rubbish items only accept life-point transactions; even a Brass tier costs five hundred, that’s way too much.”
The whispers behind her made Su Zhizhu feel sowhat embarrassed.
“Why don’t we go upstairs and chat?”
Lu Ping’an directly sent an invitation and went straight to an elevator on the side…Access to the hotel elevator itself was a privilege.
Ten minutes later, in a suite, Lu Ping’an sipped coffee while observing Su Zhizhu, who tried her best to appear calm.
It took so courage to venture deep into an unknown rule territory.
Baman Zhen didn’t care; after entering the room, she lay down on the bed and said, “Spring of Life…comfortable.” Then she began rolling around the bed excitedly.
These two had seen similar rule-buildings sowhere, but Su Zhizhu could not hide her surprise.
She had already overestimated the power of the trading land, and what she saw earlier was just the tip of the iceberg.
The real “Spring of Life” was not so easy to co by.
“This is just a basic facility for accelerating wound and physical recovery for VIPs,” said Lu Ping’an calmly, making the woman in front of him envious.
This was sothing only the privileged had access to.
Did he not know how valuable and useful a rule building with recovery and healing abilities that remained effective for third-tier and fourth-tier professionals was?
“Well, we’re not here to stare at each other.
Are you interested in making a deal?”
From the mont he saw them, Lu Ping’an had thought it through.
These two had no deep hatred with the Special Service Team or the Bureau of Anomaly Managent, and they had a good reputation in the rcenary circle, with no known instances of betraying their employers.
Such a relatively clean background was rare in the rcenary industry.
Most importantly, they were both young and powerful.
Many forces had recruited them, but the results had always been subtle.
“Trading, yes.
Recruitnt, no.”
The sa words appeared before Lu Ping’an again, but this was exactly the answer he expected.
“Trading is enough.
Trust needs ti to accumulate.
My trading request is simple…
give up your hostility towards the Special Service Team, and what do you want in return?”
Just this sentence made the negotiator, Su Zhizhu, fall silent.
“Do you know?
Simply spreading this sentence could cause a lot of trouble,” said Su Zhizhu, squinting her eyes and looking thoughtful.
The trading land is too mysterious, and the people behind it and their positions have always been in doubt and speculation.
Though they seem inclined towards the official side, the affiliated companies of the Gods’ Church still bear the official signboard.
Actual positions and possible positions are often worlds apart.
The word “white pigeon” first revealed that they were really inclined towards the official side, and the second layer was, “I know you have hostility towards the Special Task Team”…There is a high chance that this white pigeon is an insider of the Special Service Team.
Hearing this, Lu Ping’an shrugged; he had ant to reveal it.
“It doesn’t matter; they can’t find us.
Do it or not, na your price.”
“…We had a big loss at the Special Service Team, and we haven’t been so suffocated for years.
Baman Zhen even had a knife on her neck; we can’t stand such humiliation…”
“Not willing to give up?
Fine.”
“No, we can’t just endure this kind of frustration; you must pay more!”
Lu Ping’an nodded, knowing this was the case.
“How much?”
“Can you pay in Life-points?
We don’t need cash.”
“Okay.”
“One…three hundred!
I was supposed to say one thousand, our ability to cause destruction is formidable.”
Lu Ping’an stood up, showing an obvious intention to give up.
“Two hundred…no, how about one hundred?”
“Ten points.
That’s the price, take it or leave it.”
“You really went too far…
Fine!
Fine!
Don’t go!”
And so, Lu Ping’an spent ten Life-points to buy the two’s “hostility,” which was only a tenth of the consumption in fighting them.
