171: Chapter 153: Evil Gods Group 171: Chapter 153: Evil Gods Group The “little interlude” quickly passed, and for Lu Ping’an, it was business as usual.

The top brass of the Bureau of Anomaly Managent and the Special Service Team had been eting for two days straight.

Judging from the angry expressions on Xia Qin’s face each ti she returned, things did not seem to be going well.

Bla and finger-pointing?

Possibly, but the worsening situation and the hopeless predicant were the real pressing issues for now.

However, the captain of Special Service Team Three did not do nothing.

She had obtained a report and so internal information, which she then shared within her team.

“Contractor, chanic Spiritualist (Beast Tar), Slaughterer’s professional information, as well as the internal analysis report of Jia Yi (Fishman) and Sophist?

The forr costs money, and do we even have the access level to browse the latter?”

But now was not the ti for asking trivial questions, nor for discussing the rules of “prohibiting the spread of polluted knowledge.”

It was apparent that there was a mole within the Bureau of Anomaly Managent, and possibly even in the higher ranks of the Special Service Team.

Trust between teams had significantly decreased, aning, in a way, the attackers had won this round.

However, on the other hand, they had demonstrated their strength in this attack, causing many casualties and forcing the upper-level superiors and the military to take action.

Were these protocols?

Or rules?

It didn’t really matter.

If one sixth-tier was not enough, naturally, they would call in two more.

“Previously, no matter how we submitted reports and spoke up, it was useless, because it wasn’t an ‘already happened’ situation, but a ‘might happen.’ Should we say that it is because of bureaucracy, or simply the lack of people…?

Perhaps both.”

Lu Ping’an was quite calm.

He had always felt that he was sensible and reasonable, capable of making the most rational judgnts and decisions based on the current situation.

In his view, the situation had developed to this point, and the Bureau of Anomaly Managent was not as anxious or distraught as it appeared.

On the contrary, they actually expected things to progress to this stage and had even prepared for the possibility of all the “bait” being consud by the enemy.

Putting it extrely, if he had been in this situation, he would have made the sa decision.

Throw out so bait to lure the fish to the surface.

At least now, they had so idea of the enemy’s strength, and this “evidence” could be used to request reinforcents.

As for sacrifices?

There are no battles without sacrifices, but of course, as a decision-maker, one cannot appear too cold-blooded.

Since the strategic goal had been achieved, showing a little more anxiety and unease might bring the reinforcents faster.

Lu Ping’an’s thought process was quite malicious, and he felt that he was going too far.

Even worse, his reason and intuition were telling him that this was the closest to reality.

Of course, this had nothing to do with him for now.

He only needed to know that so people were not as harmless as they seed to be on the surface.

“Ah, free stuff is really enjoyable.”

He simply recorded the information in his hands, quietly transferring the contents to his notebook.

At least three suspected enemies currently existed.

One was a five-tier Beast Tar (possibly a chanic Spiritualist; if not, then there were two high-level Beast Tars), one was a fourth-tier Contractor of Evil Gods, and another appeared to be a sixth- or seventh-tier Gardener, as well as a Slaughterer from the biological modification path (at least a fourth-tier Healer, with a high probability of being above the sixth-tier).

Slaughterer?

Lu Ping’an checked the information, and this was indeed an old acquaintance.

G.T (Brother Tu) was a god of slaughter and butchery.

When Lu Ping’an first touched the Soldier Path, he had once encountered this god of life and death.

The Slaughterer Path, or Butcher Path, was a Healer path that used life, or flesh, as material to shape magical monsters or perform self-modification.

Yes, it was indeed a Healer path, and an extrely powerful one at that.

Their healing techniques were excellent, albeit with a rather subtle process.

It was similar to a combat dic profession.

A low-level Slaughterer or Butcher did not have any dical skills, only a relatively weak combat and support ability.

At mid- and high levels, however, they possess the ability to kill to save lives.

Clearly, this was an evil god and a combative deity who had offended many big shots.

New Humans were their crowning achievent, and the “Three-headed Snake” was not all of the New Humans, but simply a generic term for the technique of creating “flesh golems made from human materials.”

One person’s worth of human-faced bird, two people’s worth of double-headed dog, three people’s worth of three-headed snake, and four people’s worth of Phra Phrom.

In the art of creating terrifying creatures, Brother Tu’s techniques were top-notch.

“No matter who that Slaughterer is, as long as we find him, we must eliminate him at any cost.”

That fourth-tier rcenary did not possess the ability to mass-produce three-headed snakes.

A high-level Slaughterer hiding within a densely populated city ant that the opponents ‘troops and victims were endless.

The information on chanic Spiritualists was brief, but it at least introduced their basic abilities.

Simply put, they possessed Beast Tar abilities, but with added modifications in chanical transformation and electronic information pollution.

“Due to the presence of a chanic Spiritualist, our past communication networks and codes have been scrapped.

Now we are preparing two new sets of contact thods, one online and one offline.”

chanic Spiritualists were essentially the enemies of modern technology; their existence made the developnt of most weapons and large-scale machinery take on a very delicate path.

No one wants to be killed by their own weapons one day.

Their most frightening and even tornting trait was a form of “electronic virus,” a kind of electronic elf transcending eras.

“Is not this a super AI?

Also an unrestrained one, with artificial intelligence…” Lu Ping’an suddenly thought that it was indeed a miracle that the modern system had not collapsed.

But soon, he understood.

“Unlike ordinary Beast Tars, chanic Spiritualist’s abilities are not natural.

In other words, they must constantly consu energy to ensure that their ‘pollution’ remains effective.

Both chanical soul awakening and electronic viruses will fade away over ti, and we have to try to avoid their impact…”

Perhaps this was the root cause why this particular power did not rule the world.

“…However, high-level chanic Spiritualists are bound to have so chanical creations with real intelligence due to long-term soul awakening.

They are very tricky and can be regarded as professionals of the sa tier, and their steel and iron skeletal structure is particularly effective against close combat.”

There was a lot of miscellaneous Contractor intelligence, which Lu Ping’an glanced through, pondering thoughtfully.

This was a profession that had no combat power to speak of at the 2-tier level, and they certainly couldn’t pull off the Sophist’s actions with the abilities they’ve seen so far.

It’s highly likely that the Contractor had so unique abilities or had been granted a boon by a certain evil god.

Lu Ping’an still studied the information diligently, as he found the content quite interesting and useful to him.

“Gardener?

Is there any information about that Gardener?”

“No, we checked those trees, and there are no corresponding records in the database.

But judging from their energy level, they’re at the 2-tier level.

Any Gardener who could casually throw out so many 2-tier Magic Plants would have to be at least a well-off fourth or fifth-tier.”

The planting site of the trees was not on that piece of ground but in a tunnel not far away.

The soil was freshly dug and appeared to be no more than half a day old, so it was unlikely to have been prepared in advance.

It seed that the Gardener was the weakest in the group.

But Lu Ping’an always felt that this might not be the truth.

How could the mastermind be so reckless in carrying out the task personally?

The underling must be the one acting.

If this was a probing attempt, the Bureau of Anomaly Managent had reached its goal by roughly gauging the abilities of the hidden enemies.

And so, the Special Service Team mbers were each assigned different tasks, beginning to search for any possible clues.
