1260: Chapter 1246: Torch 1260: Chapter 1246: Torch The slowly burning torches dispelled the night, and also the Black Fog that tried to approach.

Pairs of Torch Warriors walked into the fog-filled darkness of night, and if one were to look down from high above the city, they’d see points of light scattered throughout the previously dark mist.

In every direction — northeast, southwest — Exploration Teams had paid a heavy “price,” embarking on their search along predetermined pathways.

But they probably weren’t there to rescue anyone anymore…

“This seems to be a lot more than what I’d earn by entering the fray myself.”

Lu Ping’an was indifferent, the rcenaries were probably eager to recover the cost of their “shopping” with him, and would work quite hard.

As for himself, who sold the Tools, he had already made more than enough.

Without those “Burning Life Lanterns,” it was doubtful they could easily leave the fog they entered.

And while Lu Ping’an was making a fortune, he was also looking forward to sothing…

“No matter what kind of defense chanism this is, if there are enough attackers, it should distribute so of the pressure.”

Lu Ping’an and his group also entered, not in large numbers, because he knew that on such a battlefield, more was not necessarily better.

“…Just as I expected, completely uncontrollable.

The rain is blocked by the fog, which absorbs the water.

This isn’t my domain.”

As a frontline fighter, i Yuge naturally joined Lu Ping’an.

Normally, thick mist could be considered the ho ground for this perfect Water Controller, but when the essence of the fog turned out to be a convergence of Life, her abilities were severely hindered.

“Can’t eat it, can’t crystallize it.”

Eve opened her mouth wide but couldn’t swallow anything.

The components of the Life Essence were too dilute to trigger her Assimilation or Erosion Trait.

“ow!

Everything is normal, ow!”

“…Sotis, I envy your abilities.”

Only ow was completely unaffected by the fog, moving freely through it.

Lu Ping’an brought only these few, but with Fei’er bound too, it could be considered as having two or three Rule-level combat powers.

Clearly the strongest team among the Explorers, yet they had lit only one “torch,” the most low-key among them.

“Why not burn a bit more?

It’s kind of uncomfortable.”

Eve pouted.

The stronger the Life system being, the more powerful their Life Perception Ability, making the sensation of being surrounded by the “presence of others” all the more nauseating.

“…If I’m not wrong, those who truly want to go far cannot carelessly use more torches right now.”

Lu Ping’an refused his teammate’s request and instead observed the surrounding “torch sources” with interest.

So of them had already been extinguished ahead of ti.

After pondering for a mont, he chose to head deeper into the city.

“Here they co, ow!”

But before they had gone far, the expected visitors arrived.

ow’s warning was tily, and the group prepared for combat.

However, when the enemy appeared before Lu Ping’an, even he was sowhat unable to recognize them.

“What the hell is this?”

A group of Corpse Monsters suddenly burst out from a side alley, coming towards them slowly with strong malice.

Lu Ping’an was no stranger to fighting “zombie” type creatures, in fact, he even possessed similar abilities to revive corpses himself.

But this ti, he truly hadn’t seen anything like this….

“No sign of Life traits?

Yet Life Perception is everywhere.”

“Lacking normal biological responses, but how can the muscles still move?”

“Spiritual Power and Soul waves are nearly at zero, but they still have Life’s instinctual reactions.”

His excellent Beast Taming experience allowed Lu Ping’an to quickly realize sothing was off.

These beings were not at all like Life forms, yet they retained a Life form’s “instinct,” “consciousness,” and “action.”

“Interesting…”

“Boom!”

Just as Lu Ping’an was about to suggest capturing one alive, his thoughts were shredded by the sudden uprising of a bloody claw mark tearing through everything before him.

Eve, the fiery little Princess, had already lost her patience and had acted on her own.

Chunks of flesh fell to the ground, and many zombies were instantly turned into perfect proportions of casualties.

With a disgruntled face, Eve withdrew her hand.

Apparently, such creatures were a sort of ntal Contamination for those in pursuit of “biological beauty.”

Lu Ping’an sighed, ready to wait for the next wave, but then an even more absurd scene unfolded.

Those arms and limbs simply clumped together, pieced from here and there, they ca together like clay, unnaturally propping up into a monstrous multi-limbed being.

These things seem to have absolutely no concept of life and death?

“Snap.”

A snap of the fingers, and the thrown Purifying Holy Fire ignited an assembled zombie.

But the other zombies were still attempting to approach, as if they had no concept of fear at all.

Lu Ping’an furrowed his brows, the rotting bodies were still able to move within the Holy Fire, this was the first ti he had seen creatures that were completely unafraid of Holy Fire.

“Interesting.”

Then, he smiled with genuine interest.

“Snap!”

This ti, he snapped his fingers twice, and two “Lamp Flowers” were tossed onto another assembled zombie.

“Clang!”

This ti, it fell to the ground imdiately and shattered into pieces.

What Lu Ping’an was holding, the “Burning Life Lantern” he had just taken out, seed to be an effective specialized weapon against the life forms in this fog and had an excellent effect on these zombies as well.

Seeing this, Lu Ping’an had a vague conjecture in his mind.

The next mont, he looked towards the deeper darkness…..

“…Hua senior sister, this level is tough, please don’t overexert yourself.”

Lu Ping’an sensed that this ti, their opponents were probably “unlimited.”

After ten minutes, this encounter had ended in combat.

Previously, Lu Ping’an used several precious Burning Life Lanterns around these monsters.

As long as they were close enough, even if not directly ignited, these undead creatures still couldn’t move.

“As expected….”

Lu Ping’an retracted the knife he had been dissecting the corpses with, thought for a mont, and then opted to throw it away.

The supposition had been verified, but it wasn’t good news.

He looked up at the sky, gazing at the boundless fog and the entire pitch-black city.

“They…

It, is alive, endlessly alive.”

———

——–

While Lu Ping’an was being held back by “experintal materials,” other Explorers were pressing on quickly.

Their “Torches” were quite effective, not only dispersing the infinite black fog but also dealing with the occasional “zombies” they encountered, effortlessly repelling or even burning them to death.

“Although expensive…

it’s really worth it.”

The rcenaries generally gave positive reviews, and many even made a note of Lu Ping’an’s appearance, planning to buy more from this master when they got out.

With the help of the torches, they were also able to perform their tasks more effectively.

“We’ve struck gold!

It’s a flower shop, and there’s a seed store!”

A lucky team let out cries of joy.

In this twisted world, huge pearls and powerless gems were actually just decorative materials of little significance.

Jewelry stores, accessory shops, and roadside stalls didn’t differ much, whereas essential goods like “Seeds” were extrely valuable.

If they found the right Gardener and land, they could even yield long-term profits.

Flower shops were often also the purveyors of Magic Plants, so when these two valuable types of stores were discovered, every mber of the team was naturally ecstatic.

But their gathering ran into so troubles.

This business street seed to have had a lot of life in the past, and now there were still so zombies wandering about.

These fragile yet Undead creatures were troubleso, especially for the rcenaries trying to move goods.

“Let’s start a fire, I an, light all the torches and go big, to block these zombies and take the goods away.”

As long as they could take the “Seeds” back, they would make a fortune.

They imdiately took action, igniting most of the “Torch Flowers” at once and creating the largest “bonfire.”

The effect was imdiate, the surrounding zombies couldn’t get anywhere near.

So they sped up the transportation with smiles on their faces.

What they didn’t know was the mont this massive “Torch” was lit, countless zombies from a dozen nearby blocks stood up simultaneously.

They, slowly but determinedly, moved towards the bonfire…..
