Gao Ming disappeared into the mist. Most thought he had died. After all, during the tragedy, death was the most common thing. They didn’t even have the ti to be sad because they had to keep fighting. “If I’m scared, I wouldn’t beco a horror ga player. I’d stay and be a sheep under the control of the investigation centre.” A player removed his black cape. Wang Jie’s handso yet devillish face was revealed. He was Gao Ming’s friend from Class 13. He was a madman with a twisted and dark mind. Elder Wang never put all the eggs in one basket. Everyone in Eldest Uncle Wang’s family worked with the investigation centre but Wang Jie was arranged to join the players. They also recruited a lot of people to beco a sizeable force.
“There’s nothing to be scared of because we have no other options.” Gao Ming walked out of the shadows. “Every fish that wishes to leap out of the river of fate will be slaughtered, and all the eyes that have seen the real sky will be gouged out. From the mont you heard the truth, you stood against fate. You have to rember this. Your enemies are not the shadow world but the other blood cities that wish to control us.”
“Han Hai was slaughtered. That ans Han Hai was no match for the other cities when it was at its strongest. What can we do now?” The leader of Team One was rational. “I’ve sensed so scary existences in the black mist. You’ll be bogged down with misfortune once you utter their nas. They are scarier than any ghosts I know in Han Hai. Even Headmistress Yan Xizhi is not their match.”
“Unntionables are scarier than Han Hai’s Dream Ghosts, but that is because Han Hai Blood City has been eliminated. That limited the power of the Dream Ghosts.” Gao Ming turned to the leader. This security mber, who chose to join the horror ga, knew many secrets. “Therefore, we have to rebuild the Blood City, no matter the price.”

“The other Blood Cities will not let us do this.” The captain of team one frowned. “Can we win the fight?”
“We have to be fast and complete our mission before the other city owners figure it out. Plus, the twelve cities aren’t as united as you think. There are conflicts between them.” Gao Ming had considered all these. “Han Hai has limited resources. All the ghost story rules have been taken. At most, we can sustain nine Dream Ghosts. However, I’ve found a different avenue for you. I’ll give you a path to the human world.”
At this point, the leader’s fingers trembled. He took out a cigarette from his pocket and lit it up carefully. He lowered his voice to ask, “Have you been to Xin Lu?”
Gao Ming nodded. “I’ve reconnected the severed path.”
The ash burned his fingers, but the man didn’t care. He looked at Gao Ming with disbelief.
“You’ve been betrayed by Immortal Pharma. To be more precise, soone doesn’t want Wan Jie to return because he’ll upset the power balance. Therefore, they purposely cut the way back.” Gao Ming verified the man’s suspicion. These investigators from Xin Lu were volunteers. They entered Han Hai with the dream of building a place where humans and ghosts could coexist. They sacrificed everything to get stabbed in the back.
The leader of team one was calr than he expected. He didn’t even get mad. “What do you plan to do?”
“I’ll focus on helping existing ghosts in Han Hai to beco Dream Ghosts. When the limit is reached, I’ll bring the others out of Han Hai!”
“No!” The leader of Team One and No. 2 scread at the sa ti. One was from before Gao Ming, and the other was from his heart. “Han Hai’s ghosts will cause great chaos if they enter the real world. Xin Lu will beco the next Han Hai!”
Immortal Pharma’s path was one-way only, but it had fallen into Gao Ming’s control.
