690: Story 690: Ashes of the Fallen 690: Story 690: Ashes of the Fallen The explosion ripped through the battlefield, sending dirt, blood, and fire into the air.

Sergeant Darius “Hellhound” Rook was thrown backward, his ears ringing as he hit the ground hard.

Smoke and debris clouded his vision, and for a mont, everything was silent—too silent.

Then, a low growl cut through the chaos.

Kruger still stood.

His uniform was in tatters, flesh burned and torn, yet his monstrous fra remained unshaken.

His eyes—one human, one glowing with necrotic energy—locked onto Rook with unholy rage.

The grenade had wounded him, but not enough.

Rook staggered to his feet, his hands shaking.

This was it.

He had thrown everything at Kruger, and the warlord was still standing.

“You’re persistent,” Kruger muttered, wiping the blood from his mouth.

“But not smart.”

Vasily Petrov lay in the dirt, his breathing ragged.

His shattered wrist dangled uselessly, yet even as pain wracked his body, he tried to push himself up.

“Rook…

we have to go.”

Rook knew Petrov was right, but retreat wasn’t an option.

Not anymore.

Kruger had to die here.

Rook raised his last combat knife.

“Co on, then, you undead bastard.”

Kruger smiled.

“With pleasure.”

Then, he vanished.

Rook barely saw the blur before Kruger’s fist smashed into his ribs.

He felt bones snap as he was lifted off the ground and slamd into a broken vehicle.

The tal crumpled under the impact, and agony flared through his body.

Too fast.

Too strong.

Kruger wasn’t just a warlord anymore—he was sothing else entirely.

Rook coughed blood, his vision swimming.

He could hear Petrov struggling to move, but they were out of ti.

And then… the ground shook.

A deep, chanical roar echoed across the battlefield.

The ruined cityscape trembled as sothing massive approached.

Through the smoke, a towering figure erged.

Baron “Grave Titan” Kane.

The undead behemoth strode into the fight, his massive, cybernetically enhanced body glowing with energy.

His monstrous voice bood like thunder.

“Step aside, Rook.

This one’s mine.”

Kruger’s expression darkened.

“So… you’ve co to die as well?”

Kane cracked his massive knuckles.

“No, Kruger.

I ca to end you.”

The two titans charged.

Their collision shook the earth.

Kruger’s monstrous strength t Kane’s brutal cybernetic power in a clash that sent shockwaves through the battlefield.

Flesh against steel.

Undead against undead.

Rook watched, barely clinging to consciousness.

This wasn’t just a fight.

This was a war between monsters.

And the fate of everyone rested on who would walk away from it.
