" Coming!" Nicole shouted before wiping her hands to open the door. She was expecting Kayla's grandmother for lunch.
For past few days, they had been spending a lot of ti together since Kayla and Mayra were always busy and Samuel spending ti with Elise.
She did feel a little left out but at the sa ti she was quite used to it seeing him work since they were kids.
Mathilda, Kayla's grandmother, always told her different stories of her colourful lives which intrigued her. She also treated her like her own showing her around the neighborhood and even took her shopping for groceries which she never did in her life!
She didn't even hesitate before opening the door only to see strangers standing outside.
" Elise?" She spotted Elise among the crowd before her eyes fell on soone familiar whom she hadn't t for several years.
" Nicole? You too ca to Paris?" Lilly was familiar with the little maid, she ca forward and gave her a big hug.
" You really grew up since the last ti I saw you. Let see your face."
" Aunt Lilly...I am not a kid anymore." She felt uneasy feeling her pinch her cheeks casually especially in front of strangers.
" I see that you already know one another." Matilda also ca downstairs and saw Nicole interacting with guests. Since Nicole still didn't have her own cellphone, Kayla had to inform her grandma about guest bringing Elise ho.
" Co inside, Kayla had already inford about your arrival." She invited them inside. The whole building was owned by her so she was effectively the boss of this place.
Nicole looked at four beautiful girl first and stood at the door for a second like she was waiting for one more person.
These two days of seperation was enough for her to miss him. She thought that he too would be coming but that's when Lilly called out to her," Are you waiting for you yiung master? He is not coming. It was Elise's idea so he didn't know about this visit."
Even Lilly was aware how much the little maid looked up to Samuel. She could see it in her eyes how she looked at him whenever she visited the estate.
She didn't know what happened between them but it seed like the fire was still burning with a tinge of hope at least that's what she thought not knowing they already did the deeds!
" Ah, I don't bla him. He has always been busy." She smiled on the surface but her disappointed couldn't be hidden from Lilly.
" Co, I will introduce you to everyone. Inam sure you will get along with them." Lilly grabbed her hand and took her inside to join others.
Matilda already had Elise on her lap, she used to take care of her so she was very fond of the old lady. Katarina, Alana, Genevieve and Roberta admired the comfy apartnt sitting silently on the sofa.
They heard the exchange between the cute maid and Miss Lilly which made them aware the person was soone connected to Samuel.
They sneaked glances and quietly observed Nicole, it wasn't uncomfortable just pure curiosity knowing that she knew him much longer than they did.
" Miss Lucie didn't ca with you?" Nicole pointed out after the introduction.
" She had so work to do. She was already swamped with work but still accompanied to his house."
" Did he do sothing? I don't understand why he couldn't live with us and even take my cute granddaughter away from ho." Matilda didn't like Elise staying away from ho.
When the whole family visited London for three week, she was left alone here in Paris and even missed her first Christmas with Elise. She didn't want to impose so she didn't say anything at that ti but after most of her children cancelled their plans to et during holiday, left her with a bitter taste in her mouth. " You have to ask him that. I don't know what he is upto these days. It was only when Elise insisted on coming here that I decided to take the detour."
" Humph! I will let him know next ti I et him. Elise will stay with until he shows his face. Little baby, don't you want to stay with grandma more?" She patted Elise's head coercing her but Elise said out loud," No, I want to stay with Sami."
" Who do you like better, or him?" Matilda asked out right even when Nicole discouraged her from going this route. Anyone who had seen them, knew they were bound to the hip. There was no question who she would pick!
" Of course Sami!" She said it innocently like she was stating a fact.
Looking at wide open mouth of old lady, everyone started laughing. Even calm and composed Katarina could help herself.
" I should go and prepare so tea for everyone." Nicole stood up wanted to diffuse the situation beside she was feeling awkward sitting down with strangers. Normally she would have followed her training and stood beside the guest waiting for instructions but she knew that she was on a vacation.
Beside Matilda didn't like her stuffy personality of doing everything by the books, she wanted her to be more like family and stop being so uncomfortable with everyone.
" We will help too!" Alana grabbed Roberta and Genevieve's hand offering their services. It was a perfect opportunity to talk with Nicole alone and find out more about her.
" But I don't drink tea?" Roberta was oblivious about her intentions but was still dragged in the kitchen by her.
" You are not going?" Lilly asked Katarina thinking that she didn't understand them but Katarina shook her head.
" I don't know a thing about making tea, it's best to leave it to them beside, they would only find my presence distracting."
" There is no reason for you to undervalue yourself. Nicole is not one to judge, she is a sweet girl who barely knows about the world. She is quite similar to Helga but at the sa ti, I think she is having her own problems."
