Kayla got off the phone and sighed. It's been so chaotic lately that she neglected everything aside from her work. She needed to finish work and take a few days' rest; even her Chief could understand that she needed so ti off!
Samuel and Charles walked out without Jake, who would be spending the night in the cell as per his father's intentions. The talk went smoothly for now, but when Samuel t Delphina the next day, many things would be decided.
" Sir, I will take my leave. I have to report it to my boss, but I am sure he would agree to your demand." Charles bowed once again and left.
" Is everything over?" Kayla asked. They didn't know about the ruckus ongoing in the dia.
" Mostly, but I don't think the police will be required anymore."
" Sir, is everything alright? The President said he will give full support on the matter concerning the new revelations." Mr. Boone was sensible; he must have known about the new evidence and contacted his superiors to nd the fences.
" Yes, I am thankful for Mr. Boone to co to my rescue, but I don't think involving the governnt will be the right choice. We will talk things out tomorrow."
" That's great, but please call if you need any assistance." He handed him a business card. Such opportunities are hard to co by, so they had to capitalize no matter what!
" And, Mr. Lucas, please don't let it happen. We will not pursue this matter further because of Mr. Rothschild's grace, but that doesn't an you are not at fault." He turned around and scolded the Chief.
It took so ti for him to understand what just happened; his brain worked overti to process it, but because the shock was too much, he froze, repeating a single word.
" Rothschild...Rothschild...Rothschild"
" Let's get out of here; people are waiting for you outside." Kayla took him away before the Chief's brain exploded.
Samuel sneaked outside through the backdoor and saw Darren and others waiting for him. They took a company van which was blocking the exit. It looked like police were blocking the road, as hardly anyone was in the three-block radius.
" Sami! Is everything alright? Are you hurt anywhere?" Emma ca up and hugged him tightly. She began inspecting his body for injuries.
" I am fine. Get off ; Darren is already glaring at ." Samuel hurried and separated from her. He could see Darren's murderous gaze, which seed to be telling him to back off his girlfriend!
" Did you guys wait long?" Samuel changed the subject.
" We arrived a few minutes ago, and the roads are full of people. They seed to be protesting about your abrupt arrest." Rupert chuckled. Where else would anyone have such influence? Only Samuel's fan would cause such chaos!
" I hope they don't revolt, I can be locked up for instigating that, but soon it will be over."
" Are they dropping the charges?" Darren asked.
" Yes. They will announce it soon but let's not talk about that. Where is Elise?" Samuel asked after finding she was nowhere to be seen.
" Mayra ca to pick her up. She was doing fine with Emma, but I thought it would be good if soone she actually knew was with her. They left a few minutes ago." Darren inford him.
" Co, let's go to the hotel. You need rest." Emma suggested.
" No, you guys go. I will go see her, it will be bad if I don't. We got attached recently."
" Yeah, I noticed. Mayra is also quite beautiful; I can tell she cared a lot about you." Emma teased.
" Don't talk about that; she was hounding for years trying to find Sami. Now that they are together-" Darren didn't complete the sentence, but everyone knew what they ant.
" Ummm...." Kayla cleared her throat, trying to gain their attention.
"You can't be blocking the entrance; you should head ho. I will take care of him." Her voice was unnecessarily stern for so reason.
" We can drop him off. You shouldn't concern yourself with small matters; I can see he wants to hurry ho because soone is waiting for him!" Rupert added, trying to fuel the fla.
" Yeah, did you see how she practically stord inside the station saying she would break him out? I can tell she was already bewitched by our Sami's charm!" Emma complinted her.
" Not only that, I thought Emma was her own child, but I never thought that rciless woman was working in charity. Ti sure change so people." Darren comnted, trying to be on the sa page as his girlfriend.
" She also showed so photos. They look great together-"
"Shut up! I will arrest you if you keep spouting nonsense! Get the hell out and clear the way; I will drop him off personally, so scram!" Kayla said furiously. For so reason, she couldn't stand it.
" Sami, don't tell -" Darren looked at him with disbelief. Others caught what he was referring to, but only Emma said it out loud.
" Oh my! I am sorry for not noticing. Did you entice Captain Kayla too!"
" Fuck! This kid!" Samuel held her down; she was pretty worked up by ntioning being together with him.
" You guys go! Don't make trouble for ."
" Hahaha, alright, man, we will leave it to you."
" That's what one would expect from Sami, after all."
" Please don't be offended, Captain. We will be out of your hair, but please go easy on him~."
They left spouting even more nonsense; without Samuel's support, he was certain Kayla would not let them off with a simple beating. These rascals had a habit of poking their nose in other people's business.

" I could have co here by myself. You really didn't have to do this." Samuel exited the car and headed inside the building.
" Shut up! It's my duty; the Chief ordered to look after you so you don't make more ss." Kayla grumbled.
During the whole journey, Samuel tried to appease her anger, but she didn't budge. It was pretty awkward, but just when he thought it was over, she said she would drop him off at the door. It seed unnecessary, but he accepted it for the fear that she would snap again.
He still didn't know why Emma's joke offended her that much, Samuel had t many girls in his life, and no one had ever rejected him so harshly, not that he wanted anything to happen, but how ca she hated him so much for nothing?
" Yes, the twenty-"
"Twenty-fifth floor, right?" She pressed the elevator button without even asking. Did she know his address? It was not out of the realm for the police to keep an eye out for him, but wasn't it too excessive to know his exact address?
" How did you know?"
" What?" Samuel pointed it out.
" That, I have to know where lecherous bastards live! I thought I was wrong about you, and when you voluntarily got arrested, I hate to say it, but I thought you looked cool, but now I know your true colors! I will not be fooled twice!" She made so outrageous comnts. Why was she taking their jokes literally?
" It seems we have so misunderstandings-"
" Misunderstanding my ass! Your spending ti with married won is abhorrent! Even your friends are making despicable comnts about her; don't they feel ashad!" She was going off on him.
Samuel was enduring until now, but no one in the world could tell him how to live his life! He had made so mistakes, but that didn't give her the right to criticize him this harshly.
" Aren't you being a bitch about it!? I don't rember doing anything wrong!"
" What did you say to !?"
The elevator door opened, and a few people tried to get inside, but when they felt the murderous aura coming inside the elevator, they decided to skip it.
" I an what I said! Mayra is my friend; I don't think you have any right to dictate our relationship!"
" What? R-relationship! She is married, for god's sake!"
" Unhappily married! The bastard didn't even show his face before until now! I can feel her loneliness; if he can't make her happy, I will happily take that place!" In the heat of the mont, Samuel confird his feeling with himself. He didn't want to do it this way, but he had to take responsibility for his actions!
" Fuck! You already have several girls; have you ever told her this? And don't judge other people's marriages without any proof! You have been here for one day only, and now, suddenly, you are an expert!"
They reached the designated floor when they were about to break off. Samuel ignored her; it was not like him to hit a girl, even if she was a bitch. He quietly went out of the elevator and rang the doorbell.
Kayla followed him and stood beside him.
" What are you doing?"
" I said I will drop you off."
" Are you serious right now?"
Mayra opened the door and saw both of them standing there. Samuel was about to say sothing, but Kayla walked past him and stood before him, looking at Mayra.
" W-what?" Samuel was baffled, but what happened after that shocked him to the core.
Kayla simply grabbed Mayra and gave her a kiss! Samuel rubbed his eyes to see if it was really happening but they were kissing each other passionately!
