"It's a little hard to talk without my face." Samuel actually smiled which sent shivers down Raani's spine.
Most part of his face below his eyes have already lted revealing his pearly white rows of teeth but he seed to be moving around without any discomfort.
In reality he was feeling the pain but it was no where near his first ti when he felt like his whole body was on fire.
"I am sorry but I have to use it." He snatched one of the table clothes carefully drousing them with remaining poison before he ripped a part of it to use it as a mask.
She was this frightened seeing his resistance so he couldn't imagine how she would react seeing it heal in real ti.
"See? I am fine. Unlike you I don't have to repeated expose myself to create a resistance. Even the most fatal variation of the poison would not have any affect on so unless you are confident in taking down in close combat, I suggest you admit defeat." Samuel knew she wasn't really trying to kill him as there was never a killing intent behind her blow like what happened last ti.
"I..I don't know. Your face is ruined. I would have understood if you shown so simpler example." She sat down feeling a little remorseful.
"Don't worry about my face. I have sothing that can heal wounds much faster, next ti you see you will see that I am fine."
"Alright."
"Now, can you tell what happened to Talia?" He sat down opposite to her demanding so answers.
"She...there was no options left. I don't know if you know but I am just one of the five elders. The one you faced tonight also has the sa status as but there is soone who is much more powerful than us, soone whom everyone of us respect because she was the one that brought us up when we had nothing giving us a chance to prove ourselves." She paused wanting him to understand the weight of her decision.
"It will be a sun to go against her, at least none of us would ever dare to repay her gratitude with betrayal. For soone who was labelled a traitor by our organization, the only thing that awaited them was a death by a thousand poison ritual. If they survive, it ans they were granted protection by our gods but for the thousands that were given this decree, none of them survived. No matter how immune or power they are, they would die within seconds that's how lethal that concoction is."
"I can't let that little girl go through with it so I made a deal. She has always been interested in Talia but because Talia has always been indebted to , she never joined her faction."
"Now through this incident, I can only ask for her life as a repaynt for her betrayal. I knew you would co looking for her but I will still advise you to stop this and go and live your life. There are so things that shouldn't be known about or even see the light of day."
"She will suffer but I am sure, my sister will take care of her. I will try to convene anither eting and urge them to not pursue this matter further and after what you shown my sister, they might be incline to agree to my request." Raani gave a weak smile.
It was the first ti he sae the helplessness in her eyes which was a contradiction to her strong personality. He knew whoever this character was, Raani wouldn't even think about rebelling against her which ans she must be most powerful mber of their Vishkanya clan.
"No." He refused.
"No? Did you hear anything I said to you?"
"I heard everything but I can't leave her to her fate. If this person is very powerful, I just need to make her understand that the flow of them or ones heritage doesn't dictate one's power. Many ancient civilizations were bested by newer ones thinking they were untouchable but all fell into ruins, people even forgetting about their existence." He knew the reality much better having knowledge of said past etched into his brains.
"I can't guarantee a win but I will not surrender or run away with my tails between my legs just because she is considered powerful. Whatever deal you made with her would be void if I made my voice known. If she thinks she could take one of my people without my consent then I will make sure she will regret that decision for the rest of her life." He said sternly his eyes glowing a familiar shade of red.
"But it's-"
"Just tell where they took her. I don't want anything else from you."
"Sowhere in Moldova. We are not allowed to know the main location of her base but I have a general idea where it could be located." She finally said it with so hesitation pulling out a old map which had so marking on it. She felt guilty like she was sending such a impressive man to the gallows!
"Thank you.I will make sure she will be back in a week at most." Samuel bowed slightly in gratitude, taking it from her before leaving the way he ca from.
"I hope you know what you are getting into. She sure is a lucky girl to have t soone like you." She said with a smile, the room was empty but she felt he would hear it.
He did smile a little as his exceptional hearing picked up her words. He didn't know if Talia would appreciate it as much as Raani but he didn't want to leave her especially knowing her past abandonnt.
She might be strong woman with a venomous tongue but he rembered her tender and vulnerable side much more fondly.
As he reached the ground floor, his cellphone rang. It was Jane.
"Boss?"
"I am sorry I was busy."
"Boss, I think you should co back imdiately. There have been so complications with our operation."
"Is it related to the Greens?
"Yes boss." Samuel felt torn. He knew he couldn't leave just yet but he didn't want to wait long to go to Moldova to find Talia as ti was of the essence in both cases!
