Two people, one young man and a middle aged man who was occupying a low posture a clear sign of subordination were inside the large vehicle just outside the Sainte-Chapelle. Despite their mysterious background, they were in a fairly normal SUV which was designed to blend in public.
The middle aged man, who was also his butler was trying to talk him out of going out in public. He knew his master had always been a spontaneous person but this was too much. His voice was low but it carried a threat that Wilbur couldn't ignore after all he was the liason, coordinating his master's words to the vassal family.
Soone of his caliber wouldn't reach down to talk to six subordinate families for sothing so trivial but now he needed to co to Paris himself to talk with their local contacts. These were high ranking people in the governnt, dia and business circles.
They operate in the light but were controlled by him from the shadows. It was one way for their organization to not to get noticed by any relevant party. If soone did get expose, they could cut off contact with them which was essentially like lizard cutting of a piece of it's tail to protect itself.
It's just they had so much power that these 'high ranking' people were easier to replace. They only need to move so strings from the top. But because Richard Rockefeller made too much noise and directly implicated himself, his master couldn't just sit back and watch one of the key figures in Rockefeller family fall down.
Not to ntion, Richard was Nelson's son. If he couldn't even protect his subordinate's son, he would lose prestige and their trust. Nonetheless, his cris may get pardoned in the face of law but he couldn't escape the young man's fury so easily.

" Wilbur, how long have it been since you ca to my side?" The young man squinted his eyes to look at Wilbur for a second. Wilbur knew that he was being judged but he stood still because he never did anything wrong.
" Ten years, two months, three week and one day." He said without hesitation. As soone who was close to what accounted for 'god' in this world, Wilbur had to be most competent person who was both smart and could read the mood of the room perfectly.
" Good, am I still the lord if they don't listen to for the first ti?"

" Sir-" Wilbur didn't know how to answer it but he reacted after a mont of hesitation before saying, " Lord, give your orders!"
" It's nothing much. I need them to understand as well as set an example for the future. Ask my n to bring Richard to our base in Africa. Don't you think he should go through detention to make him understand not to pounce around in the future. It's okay to do things discreetly but kidnaping people and holding them in such a place should be the dumbest decision of his life. I can't believe at so point we were planning to make him next head of the Rockefeller family."
" As you wish my lord." Wilbur knew what 'base in Africa' entrailed. Richard was going to have a very bad month in the near future, maybe he wouldn't be able to recover regardless, Wilbur knew that he had lost faith of his boss so whatever happened to him shouldn't hamper their plans in future.
" Do it now, don't wait for him. I am going to take a stroll for an hour. It's been soti since I visited Sainte-Chapelle. I often read many of my ancestor passed through this place in the past." He said nonchalantly before opening the car door. Wilbur wanted to say sothing but he stopped.
He knew when his boss had made up his mind, no one could change it. Maybe it was better for him to leave without escort, it would garner less attention still he asked so of their most elite people to follow him from the shadows.
