Katie Hols was the leading lady in Batman Begins as Rachel Dawes. Actually, this character was an original character that first appeared in the Dark Knight Trilogy. She was not based on a comic character. She was a new character created for the Dark Knight Trilogy.
Usually, Batman's common love interests were Vicki Vale, Talia Al Ghul, Zatanna, Catwoman, and even Harley Quinn... Yeah, Harley Davidson had a complicated relationship with Batsy.
But in this case, for the first and intended second movie, Rachel Dawes was the leading lady.
In the original tiline, Rachel Dawes was played by Katie Hols.
However, because of conflicting schedules and personal reasons, Katie Hols didn't reprise her role as Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight. She decided to work on a cody movie called Mad Money instead.
This caused a problem since Katie Hols had already solidified her role in the first movie.
But Warner Brothers and Christopher Nolan gritted their teeth and chose a new actress to be Rachel Dawes.
In the second movie, Maggie Gyllenhaal beca Rachel Dawes. That was also the movie where Rachel Dawes tragically died.
Kazir was not stupid enough to repeat that mistake.
