"Charlotte, Charlotte Smith," Janet Madison stamred, "you can’t kill ."
Hearing this, Charlotte glanced at her, not speaking, just giving a faint smile.
This smile held no emotion, calm and composed, like a rhetorical question: Why do you think I can’t kill soone?
Janet looked at her cold deanor, a chill running up from her fingertips.
She suddenly realized that Charlotte truly might kill soone.
Or rather, she really had killed soone.
It’s hard for normal people to have such calm, detached eyes; she felt she was already as good as dead in Charlotte’s eyes.
Charlotte was silent for a while, then softly said, "Miss Madison, I’m a bit hungry. I’d like to eat sothing first. How about you?"
Janet imdiately caught on, responding, "I’m hungry too."
Charlotte nodded, silently opened the door, and walked out.
Once Charlotte left, the stagnant air finally began to flow, and Janet couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
She belatedly realized she had actually been bluffed by Charlotte and started to fear her.
Charlotte cooked so rice and steak.
She wasn’t really skilled at cooking. In her previous life, she had conflicts with Robert Stephens, and she never honed any culinary skills, just enough to be edible.
She brought the rice and at to Janet, saying, "I’ll untie one of your hands, but you have to behave. If you don’t comply today, I won’t give you any food. You probably haven’t experienced the feeling of hunger, have you?"
Janet’s eyelashes fluttered, and she quickly said, "I won’t."
Charlotte watched her for a while, didn’t say anything else, and untied her left hand, handing her a spoon.
She wasn’t really afraid of anything; after all, if Janet didn’t behave, the consequences would soon reveal themselves.
Holding the spoon, Janet awkwardly scooped up so rice with her left hand. After taking a bite, her face scrunched up and she almost spat it out.
Observing her expression, Charlotte said warmly, "Not very good, is it? I accidentally put too little water, so it’s a bit undercooked. I’ll rember to add more water next ti."
"It’s... It’s not that bad," Janet forced a smile, "it’s okay."
Charlotte seed to sigh in relief, "As long as you’re not picky."
Janet was at a loss for words. She took a bite of Charlotte’s grilled beef and almost spat it out again.
It was too bland, just tasting like raw beef.
She didn’t pretend; it really was inedible.
Charlotte held her bowl, sitting quietly to the side, eating rice one mouthful at a ti.
She actually didn’t have much of an appetite now. Ever since she got pregnant, she hadn’t been keen on eating, but she couldn’t be willful; without nutrition, the baby might not survive.
Janet continued eating, cautiously observing Charlotte sitting beside her.
When Charlotte was fully focused on her bowl, Janet suddenly grabbed her own bowl and hurled it at Charlotte’s head!
"Bang!"
The bowl fell to the ground with a crisp sound. Charlotte narrowly dodged it, and Janet’s uneaten rice spilled all over her.
Not being her dominant hand, her movents weren’t agile enough, and Charlotte spotted her!
"Miss Madison."
Charlotte was silent for a mont, then looked up at her.
Her eyes seed excessively dark, making her pale little face look eerie and sinister.
"Charlotte Smith, how dare you kidnap ? I won’t let you get away with this!" Janet angrily yelled.
Charlotte didn’t speak, she just stood up, grabbed a fruit knife from the other side, and seized Janet’s wrist, cutting deeply into it!
"Sss——" Blood spurted forth imdiately.
