Dinner was much like lunch, just with an added cup of coffee.

Daisy Ginger took a sip of coffee to calm her nerves.

The light dimd in front of her as the man walked over and sat across from her.

After such long activity, she was indeed hungry...

Daisy took a few bites of her food and noticed that the man hadn’t touched his chopsticks. She glanced up at him.

He was leaning back on the sofa, propping up his face, watching her casually.

His features were deep and defined, with the light slanting down from above, making the outline of his jawline even more distinct.

The allure of a man in his thirties couldn’t be matched by soone in their early twenties. Daisy couldn’t quite recall what Edward Stephens was like at twenty-five, though he was likely charming. Yet, as he quietly looked at her now, she felt an air of maturity and experience.

Calm and indifferent, elegant and gentle.

She glanced at him for a mont, then quickly withdrew her gaze, understanding why in the two months spent with Michael Joyner, she only saw him as a kid, never even considered him as boyfriend material.

—Having been with soone as outstanding as Edward Stephens in appearance, background, and learning, how could she possibly be interested in soone as green as Michael Joyner?

Once you leave the grand mountains, even the clouds seem unimpressive.

Daisy sighed lightly to herself, sipping her coffee slowly, her mind heavy with thoughts.

Attraction clouded her judgnt, and she couldn’t resist Edward Stephens’ allure, ending up sleeping with him.

Sleeping with him ant she had to take responsibility.

Not an easy task.

Of course, the most important thing was—she didn’t want to take responsibility.

Daisy spent a whole hour eating that al.

The man was very patient, sitting across from her, watching her ticulously, seemingly waiting for her to speak first.

Daisy didn’t feel like talking.

But eventually, the al would be finished, and Daisy hesitated as she put down her chopsticks, stood up from the sofa, "I..."

"Hmm?"

The man responded tily.

"I’m going out to find a hotel."

"You’re not staying here?"

Daisy coughed lightly, "I’d rather not trouble you..."

That statent seed to tickle sothing in him, as the man on the sofa chuckled softly.

Watching him laugh, Daisy felt her brain heat up, shaking those chaotic thoughts from her mind. She coughed twice, "I’m leaving."

"There aren’t many hotels nearby." Edward stood up naturally from the sofa, walked over to her, and said, "This is a small place, not a tourist spot. Aside from so inns, you might not find the kind of star-rated hotel you want."

Daisy replied, "Then... I’ll just stay at an inn."

The man chuckled again, unclear what he found amusing, looking her over with a thin, teasing smile on his lips.

Daisy took a small step back, creating so distance, so she wouldn’t be enveloped by the aura of hormones exuding from him.

"I’m leaving."

She said in a low voice, turning towards the door.

"Hey." The man’s gentle sigh ca from behind, making Daisy’s scalp tingle as her wrist was gently caught, "Do I have to ask you to stay before you’ll agree to stay?"

Daisy pressed her lips together, "I don’t want to stay here."

"Oh." Edward responded, then suddenly let her go. Just when Daisy thought he was going to let her leave, she saw him casually take the coat off the rack and put it on himself, "Then let’s go together. I wouldn’t feel at ease with you staying at an inn alone."
