The next day.

Daisy Ginger woke up very early.

When she awoke, Edward Stephens, sleeping next to her, was still in a deep sleep, breathing softly. A strand of hair that fell on his cheek gently floated with his breaths.

He seed to be sleeping quite peacefully.

Daisy wasn’t so inconsiderate; just because she was awake didn’t an she ignored whether he had enough sleep. She moved cautiously, sitting up from the bed and tiptoeing into the bathroom to wash up.

After she went downstairs for a while, Erin also woke up, brought down by the nanny, still groggy. Upon seeing Daisy, he called out to her in a sweet voice, reaching out for her to hold him.

He was usually a very independent child, only acting a little spoiled with her just after waking up. Daisy ruffled his little head, smiling as she asked, "Still not fully rested?"

Erin nodded, "Sleepy."

"You can take another nap after breakfast."

Daisy said as she led him into the dining room.

Mother and son ate for a while before a servant approached and whispered to Daisy, "Miss Ginger, Miss Charlotte Smith is at the door."

Daisy was drinking soy milk and paused slightly upon hearing this. She nodded in acknowledgnt, spent a bit more ti with Erin at breakfast, and then told him she was going out for a mont before getting up from her seat.

The woman looking for her was at the door.

She wore a long black trench coat, her porcelain white skin appearing translucent in the early morning sunlight. Daisy noticed she had cut her long hair back to the short style she wore when they first t, without any adornnts, highlighting her exquisitely sculpted face.

When she saw Daisy co out, she softly called out, "Miss Ginger."

Her tone was gentle and polite.

Daisy acknowledged with a nod, lifting her eyes to look at her. Over the years, it appeared life had not been easy for Charlotte Smith. She had always been slender, but now she seed so thin as to be frail, her black and white attire emphasizing her delicate fra movingly.

Though Daisy didn’t know what business Charlotte had with her, she recognized she must have sought her out purposefully.

Without saying anything, Daisy invited her in and politely poured her a cup of tea.

"Thank you."

Charlotte quietly thanked her, taking the cup.

Daisy looked up at her.

Charlotte took a sip, her lips pale, only taking on a hint of blush from the warmth of the tea.

It had to be admitted: Charlotte indeed had a naturally endearing appearance that stirred sympathy. Despite having done many things that Daisy disliked, she couldn’t bring herself to speak harshly to her.

"What is it?" Daisy leaned back on the sofa and asked calmly.

Charlotte looked up at her, pressing her lips together thoughtfully before speaking softly, "Miss Ginger, have you heard about the various things that have happened to the Stephens family these past years?"

"I’ve been away, not very clear."

Charlotte paused, her tone gentle, "Then let tell you a bit..."

Daisy interrupted her, "Just tell why you’re here, no need for the long story."

She had no interest in Edward’s accomplishnts over the years.

"..." Charlotte was silent for a few seconds, then nodded slightly, "Well... I’ll get straight to the point." She looked at Daisy, setting down the teacup in her hand, "Miss Ginger, could you please ask Edward to show Mr. [surna omitted] so leniency? His health isn’t good, and being held at the police station all the ti, I’m afraid..."

Daisy froze for a mont, seemingly incredulous, staring at Charlotte without speaking for a while.

"Are you serious?"
