Edward Stephens froze for a few seconds until Ryan kissed him several more tis on the face. His gaze turned cold, and with one swift movent, he flipped Ryan over his shoulder, sending him flying.
"Bang!"
Ryan fainted.

In the car, Ryan gradually woke up.
He opened his eyes, his head throbbing with pain, and saw Edward driving. Rubbing his forehead, he asked, "What happened to ?"
Edward’s voice was calm and unruffled.
"You got drunk."
"Oh, oh..."
Ryan rubbed his head.
No wonder his head hurt so much now.
Edward frowned, looking ahead, "Is this how you behave when you’re drunk?"
"What happened?" Ryan was still a bit confused, rubbing the large bump on the back of his head that he didn’t know how he got.
Edward said, "It’s disgusting."
"Hey, why attack personally?" Ryan was sowhat indignant, "Although I haven’t been drunk many tis, I’m clearly very cute, okay?"
"Who told you that?"
"My girlfriend!"
"Disgusting."
Ryan: "..."
He pouted, muttering under his breath, "You’re the disgusting one..."
The goosebumps on Edward’s arms hadn’t subsided. He had known Ryan for over ten years and had no idea this guy had the potential to beco a kissing maniac when drunk, indiscriminately kissing anyone, male or female. He even suspected that Ryan would kiss a dog!
After dropping Ryan ho, Edward kicked him out of the car.
"Get out."
"Hey, hey, why so harsh..."
"Disgusting."
"..."
Does he want to fight?
Edward said, "These days, keep an eye on Emma Magus."
Ryan rubbed his head, "Huh?"
"Have you been in contact with her?"
"No," Ryan said, "Didn’t you already shut her out? She asked for my help a few tis, but I didn’t agree. After that, we lost contact."
"..." The man let out a sound of acknowledgnt, "Then keep an eye on her for a few days, see what she’s been up to recently."
Ryan looked up at Edward, seeing no discernible emotion on his face, unsure of what Edward was thinking. He asked, "Did Emma do sothing wrong again?"
"Ryan, I want a Stephens family that’s different from the past," Edward looked at him, "I want to dismantle the centuries-old system of the Stephens. I want to be with the one I love, to give them a safe and free future. The process might be difficult, it might even fail, but I want to try."
Ryan held his breath.
He gazed at Edward’s face, his expression serene, as if he were speaking of sothing inconsequential.
"We used to just want to escape from them, thinking we could live as we wished if we left the influence of the Stephens. But how naive were we then? As long as our blood is theirs, we’re never truly free."
Only death could bring release.
But he doesn’t want to die; he wants to be with the one he loves, to spend his life with Daisy Ginger.
"I can’t keep sitting idly by, or else, Ryan, one day, I’ll have to watch her die in front of ."
They may not harm him, but they would hurt everyone around him.
Ryan, Daisy Ginger, Daisy’s family, friends, or even their children...
They want to leave him isolated, to make him obey without questions, to not dare resist anymore, to end up a lonely figure, obedient and compliant.
As long as his na is Stephens, as long as he exists, his life will never be his own.
He can’t go on like this anymore.
