The man’s black eyes stared at her unblinkingly.

She rarely showed her emotions like this, although he knew in his heart that she liked him.

She wasn’t the kind of woman who was ambiguous with n; in her heart, there was a place for him.

But this "certainty" would begin to waver at the thought of her marriage to Jas Shelton.

She liked him, but how did she feel about Jas?

In his life, he learned everything quickly, got everything he wanted, yet when it ca to this woman, he constantly faced setbacks and frustrations. Emotions had no shortcuts, no matter how handso or smart he was. If Daisy Ginger didn’t like him, it was all for naught.

He had done many things wrong, continuously hurting her to keep her, so much so that in the end, he dared not hope for her love anymore.

Yet emotions were irrational; even if she didn’t like him, he couldn’t let go.

Unable to let go, he persistently approached her.

He had been waiting for this feeling to extinguish, but at this mont—

"Daisy Ginger, do you love very much?"

He suddenly asked.

Daisy Ginger was slightly taken aback and looked up at his face.

His lips curved into a slight arc, his dark eyes particularly bright in the dim lighting of the restaurant, his chin slightly raised with a hint of pride and nobility.

—Just like a boy pretending to be reserved in front of soone he likes when he’s actually happy.

Childishly ridiculous.

Daisy Ginger pressed her lips, deliberately holding back a laugh, and did not answer him, not wanting him to be more pleased with himself.

She took a bite of her steak with a fork, then said, "If you can fulfill the promise you once made to , I can tell you a secret." She blinked at him, "Trust , this secret will definitely shock you."

Edward Stephens looked at her feigned mysterious deanor, a little displeased for not getting a definite answer from her, squinted at her, and raised his chin, "I don’t think you have any secrets that can surprise anymore. Unless you tell you’ll divorce Jas Shelton tomorrow."

Daisy Ginger laughed, "That’s not possible now."

Edward Stephens pressed on, "When will it be?"

Daisy Ginger looked at him, her smile tender under the light.

Her fingers gently tucked the stray hair behind her ear, revealing a delicate jawline, her gaze gentle.

"Edward, Jas is a very important person to . I owe him a great debt, and before I can repay it, I can’t separate from him."

Edward Stephens looked at her with a sowhat stubborn gaze.

"I can help you too."

Daisy Ginger smiled, "You can’t."

The man seed a bit dissatisfied.

Daisy Ginger held his hand, gently kneading his fingers with her fingertips, soothing him: "Co on, let’s eat. Aren’t you hungry? If you don’t eat soon, the steak will get cold."

The man looked at her, his lips moved, as if there was sothing else he wanted to say.

In the end, he held back the impulse and did not continue the previous topic, finishing dinner with Daisy Ginger.

Daisy Ginger also breathed a slight sigh of relief.

The future with Edward Stephens was uncertain, and for Erin Ginger’s sake, she didn’t want to reveal his parentage to Edward yet.

But if Edward Stephens were to press on her about it, she wasn’t sure if she could withstand his questioning and keep from explaining Erin Ginger’s birth to him.
