"Don't tell your mother about this," Lucius said sharply.

His tone left no room for argunt. He already regretted ever teaching Draco the Bloodline Detection Charm. The spell was ant for Malfoy family records — not for unearthing nightmares.

But he couldn't deny what he'd seen. Darren Potter's blood had recognized him.

Draco blinked, paling. "Wait… Dad. You don't an Darren Potter knew you were his father all along, do you?"

Lucius froze. His mouth twitched.

"No," he said at last. "Of course not. I know nothing of this… situation with Lily Potter."

He took a slow breath, trying to sound calm and dignified — and failing. "But the analysis revealed sothing else. His blood heals five tis faster than a normal wizard's. That trait appears in the Malfoy line."

Lucius rubbed his temple. "If necessary… you may keep an eye on him. Quietly."

The words tasted strange on his tongue. By all rights, he should be proud — another son, a powerful one at that.

But how could he acknowledge Darren when the boy bore Potter's na? When the world knew him as the twin of Harry Potter?

And what of Narcissa?

If she ever learned of this, she'd have him hexed into next week — politely, of course, but effectively.

---

Draco was still staring, stunned. "Wait— you don't think Harry Potter is your son too, do you?"

Lucius flinched. The thought alone made his stomach churn.

"rlin forbid," he muttered. "But… Darren and Harry are twins."

He hesitated. "…It's possible they don't share the sa father."

Draco's jaw dropped. "That's disgusting!"

"It's rare, but it happens," Lucius said defensively. "There are magical precedents — complicated potions, enchantnts, twin paternity charms…" He trailed off miserably.

He rembered a night during the war — Death Eaters celebrating after a raid, far too much Firewhisky, blurred mories. Lily Evans had been captured briefly before her escape…

Lucius swallowed hard. "If it was that night… then perhaps— but surely only one child could be mine. Surely not both."

He rubbed his hands together, nervously. "Harry Potter doesn't resemble in the slightest. His features are all Jas."

Please let it be Jas.

The thought of Voldemort tornting his own child made Lucius's blood run cold.

"Father," Draco said weakly, "I don't want Harry Potter as my brother."

Lucius blinked. "Neither do I."

Draco threw up his hands. "Good! Because that would ruin my life. How could I ever look Crabbe and Goyle in the eye again?"

Lucius sighed, feeling decades older. "Draco, if — and only if — Harry is not involved, then Darren's existence must remain secret. Do you understand? If word gets out that I share blood with Lily Potter, the entire pure-blood circle will turn on us."

Draco frowned. "Then… what about Darren? Shouldn't he at least know the truth?"

Lucius hesitated.

He'd seen the boy only in papers and distant reports — the "kind-hearted Slytherin twin," praised and pitied in equal asure. A child ostracized by Slytherin yet loyal to his brother.

Part of him — the part that still rembered his youth before ambition — ached with regret.

But no. The Malfoy na couldn't be tarnished.

"Not every child needs acknowledgnt," Lucius said finally, his voice low. "Darren will be safer not knowing. You may watch over him… but tell no one. Not even your mother."

"Not Mother?" Draco asked nervously.

"Especially not your mother." Lucius's voice rose a little too quickly. "If Narcissa ever learned I might have fathered a child with a Muggle-born witch— she'd divorce on the spot!"

Draco winced. "Right. Keeping secrets. I can do that."

Lucius stared at him, unconvinced. "Can you? Truly?"

Draco puffed his chest. "Of course!"

Lucius didn't believe a word of it.

In fact, as soon as their mirror call ended, he decided he'd have to visit Hogwarts himself — and perhaps seal Draco's silence with an Unbreakable Vow.

Because if Draco blurted this out to anyone— especially at breakfast in front of Crabbe, Goyle, and half of Slytherin— their reputation would be dood.

---

When the connection closed, Lucius slumped back in his chair.

"rlin help ," he muttered. "How could this have happened?"

He could almost see Snape's face if he ever found out.

Severus, calm as ever, quietly drawing his wand…

"Lucius," he'd say in that silken, deadly tone, "you an to tell my student—the boy I protected—is your illegitimate son?"

Lucius grimaced.

"Yes, I'd definitely be Avada Kedavra'd on the spot."

He poured himself a glass of Firewhisky and downed it.

Sowhere deep down, though, a faint curiosity stirred.

What does the boy look like up close?

Snape had ntioned that Darren had grown up in a Muggle orphanage before Hogwarts.

A Malfoy… in an orphanage.

Lucius stared into his glass, horrified at the thought.

"If I'd known," he whispered, "I'd have taken the child ho myself…"
