Chapter 656: Chapter 653: The Attacked Sirius (Double Chapter) (Part 2)

Kael waved his hand, indicating he was fine.

After he managed to suppress the churning feeling in his stomach, he looked up to assess his surroundings.

It seed to be an office, not very big, with shelves lined with various cauldrons and jars of different sizes.

Apart from him and Harry, Dumbledore was also there, along with a witch he was quite familiar with... Professor Cecily from St Mungo’s Hospital.

At this mont, the famous pharmacist was looking at Kael with a surprised expression, and at the Phoenix on his shoulder.

"It’s the first ti I’ve seen Fawkes be close to anyone other than you, Albus," she said.

"Fawkes indeed trusts Kael very much." Dumbledore waved his wand, and the overturned table imdiately returned to its original state.

"Ti is of the essence, Cecily," he said, "The people from the Ministry of Magic will be here soon, and there are things that must be finished before they arrive."

"Understood." Cecily paused for a mont, frowned, and said, "But are you sure he can delay the Dark Magic on Stodgy?"

"Only he can," Dumbledore said.

"Alright, follow ." Cecily did not ask further, setting down the silver tray in her hand and walking out.

"Follow along, Kael," Dumbledore said, "Harry, you stay here first."

"But Sirius..."

"You will see him, but not now."

After saying this, Dumbledore led Kael out of the room.

Outside was a dim corridor, the oil lamps on the ceiling flickering like sothing from the last century, barely illuminating the path at their feet.

Soon, they reached the end of the corridor.

Cecily pushed open a heavy black door. It was even darker inside, without even a light, resembling a deep cave.

"So wounds caused by Dark Magic shouldn’t be exposed to much light, otherwise it gets worse," Cecily said, "Fortunately, the Dark Magic used on him doesn’t have this characteristic, or it would be even more troubleso... Lumos."

Cecily lit up her wand.

In the room, there was only one bed. Lying on it was a wizard whose body was covered with deep purple patterns, which seed to be alive, constantly spreading.

"So, what are you going to do?" Cecily asked, "To brew the corresponding antidote, it would take at least six hours."

Kael also looked at Dumbledore.

"We need to maintain his current state, both physically and spiritually," Dumbledore said calmly, "And as far as known, most Dark Magic cannot spread on stone.

"I sent Fawkes to Dorset before, but it told

the thing that could do that is no longer there."

Stone, Dorset?

Kael suddenly realized why Dumbledore had asked him earlier if he had brought the box.

"Alright, I understand." Kael said as he took out his box, placed it on the ground, opened it, and jumped right in.

Professor Cecily looked at Kael’s actions sowhat puzzled.

Dumbledore’s words were easy to understand, turning Stodgy into stone was indeed a good way, but the latter words she couldn’t comprehend.

A regular Petrification Spell only works on the body, she had tried it before without success, and she had never heard of any spell that could petrify a soul as well.

Moreover, Kael’s response was also very strange.

It sounded as if there was indeed a way to complete a kind of magic even Dumbledore couldn’t, and what was with that box, an Undetectable Extension Charm?

Cecily found it increasingly strange. She looked at Dumbledore, but he was just staring at the box on the ground, with no intention of explaining.

She could only temporarily suppress the doubts in her heart.

A few minutes later, the originally calm box suddenly jumped twice, bulging as if sothing was stuck inside.

Then, Cecily saw... a giant snake, fifty feet long, crawled out of that small box, its enormous body nearly filling the entire room.

"It’s a Basilisk," she exclaid with a trembling voice, "Don’t look it in the eyes."

Dumbledore, as if he had anticipated this, took out sothing resembling a silver lighter and pressed it.

A new ball of light floated out, and the wand that had fallen on the ground returned to Cecily’s hand.

"Don’t worry, its eyes are shut."

Dumbledore’s voice slightly cald Cecily.

She recalled the scene of the Basilisk crawling out of the box, and it did seem to have its eyes closed... If it wasn’t, she probably wouldn’t still be standing here.

...

Realizing this, Cecily opened her eyes and asked Dumbledore with a peculiar look: "So, the legends are true... does Hogwarts really have a Basilisk?"

She had heard patients at St Mungo’s ntion it before, saying there was a Basilisk at Hogwarts, and everyone who saw it was cursed.

But Cecily hadn’t taken it seriously at the ti because she knew well that the Basilisk’s gaze was lethal, not a curse, and there hadn’t been any news of students being killed at Hogwarts at that ti.

So Cecily had just thought it was a rumor. After all, things like this were not uncommon, students exaggerate in their descriptions, parents believe them and then embellish it further to tell others, making what was initially a normal situation sound more and more outrageous. She had heard rumors more exaggerated than Basilisks.
