Chapter 249: Chapter 247: Lovegood
Kael was invited to visit Nicolas Flal’s ho, and it was originally supposed to be a secret. But as Dumbledore once told Harry, secrets always get out...
When Kael returned, he suddenly realized that everyone seed to know about it.
During dinner, Mr. Weasley, just like Chris an hour ago, kept asking Kael about Nicolas Flal and whether he had seen any talking refrigerators there.
"Dad idolizes Nicolas Flal."
Fred whispered, "Ever since Dad accidentally bumped into Headmaster Dumbledore and found out about your trip, he’s been excited."
George shrugged, "I think he imagines Nicolas Flal’s house is filled with talking Muggle electronics."
Finally, under the expectant gaze of Mr. Weasley, Kael had to regrettably inform him... Nicolas’ house didn’t have any talking refrigerators, nor could the lawnmower tap dance while telling jokes.
In fact, Mr. Weasley, there were none of the Muggle electronics you could think of.
This left Mr. Weasley extrely disappointed.
But there was nothing Kael could do because Nicolas’s manor in Paris was where he lived long ago, back when the Muggle world hadn’t even invented light bulbs yet.
Even the beach chair Nicolas sat in while listening to opera was sothing he brought over from Devon.
Although Mr. Weasley wasn’t interested in the beach chair, he decided to buy one to bring himself a bit closer to his idol.
This decision left Mrs. Weasley very displeased, their car problems weren’t even solved yet, and now there’d be an extra chair possibly turning into sothing peculiar... Wasn’t there enough trouble at ho already?
From her wrathful gaze, it was clear that after dinner, Mr. Weasley was going to get into trouble.
...
anwhile, others were just as intrigued by Kael’s month-long adventures.
But upon learning that Kael had spent a month reading there, Fred, George, and Ron’s curiosity dwindled considerably.
In their view, a vacation should be for playing; using it to read was simply an unforgivable waste.
Percy did ask a few questions but it was clear he wasn’t all that interested either.
After all, there wasn’t any Alchemy on the Hogwarts exams, and he didn’t see a need to waste ti on such additional knowledge.
Of course, there were still those who were completely oblivious to the matter... like Harry.
Ever since Mr. Weasley ntioned the topic, Harry’s jaw hadn’t closed.
He only knew that soone invited Kael as a guest, but he never expected it to be the legendary wizard who lived for over six hundred years and created the Philosopher’s Stone, Nicolas Flal.
He was still worried about his howork, while Kael was already able to visit such a legendary wizard’s ho.
It’s undeniable, sotis the gap between wizards is larger than that between wizards and goblins.
After dinner, Mr. Weasley was indeed dragged back to the house.
Having eaten too much, Fred and George felt a bit stuffed and decided to invite Kael and newcor Harry for a fixture of Ottery St Catchpole... Goblin hunting.
"The rules are simple, Harry."
Arriving at the garden, Fred skillfully grabbed a goblin resembling a large potato from the flower bush and said:
"You can either throw it or hit it with a wooden stick, just try to make the goblin fly as far as possible.
Just like this..."
With that, he drew a short bat used by Beaters from behind and, in a very standard pose, sent the goblin flying from his hand.
Seeing Harry’s shocked expression, George explained, "Goblins have tough skin, hitting them with a bat won’t harm them.
At tis, it seems they could replace a Bludger."
Harry hesitated a bit, but after a goblin bit him hard, he transford into an emotionless batting machine...
"Oh... Harry, that last swing definitely went two hundred feet."
"I think it was at least two hundred fifty feet..."
Since it was already late, they didn’t actually hold a competition, they just estimated the distance.
"I feel the angle was a bit off... next ti I’ll hit it farther!" Harry skillfully picked up a goblin enjoying the spectacle from the ground and swung again.
"Nicely done, Harry." George said looking up, "That was a perfect straight shot, you’ve got a knack for being a Beater..."
"Ouch!"
Before he could finish, a groan suddenly rang out from afar.
Did it hit soone?
The group exchanged glances and rushed towards the sound.
From a distance, they saw a person crouching while holding their head.
When they got closer, Harry quickly apologized, "I’m really sorry, sir, I didn’t know there was anyone here..."
"It’s alright, it’s partly my fault for not paying attention..."
The person raised his head and suddenly paused, "Fred, George, Kael... I see, you’re probably goblin hunting again."
It was then that everyone recognized him.
With slightly crossed eyes, fluffy white hair like cotton candy covering his shoulders, dressed in a brightly colored yellow robe, with a golden chain around his neck that had a peculiar symbol resembling a triangular eye.
"Mr. Lovegood?" Kael exclaid in surprise.
The unfortunate soul hit by the goblin was Xenophilius Lovegood, living on the north side of Ottery St Catchpole.
"Did you just return?"
"Yes." Lovegood rubbed his head, "I took Luna looking for Curved-Horned Snoring Beasts and got too caught up and lost track of ti."
As soon as he finished speaking, a young girl ca running over.
She had wild golden hair, carrot-shaped earrings, and a necklace made from Butter Beer corks, holding a half-leaf picked from sowhere.
This odd attire and actions made her look sowhat kooky.
"Dad, I just found on the ground... Oh, Kael, long ti no see."
Luna bounced over to Kael’s side, tilting her head, those slightly protruding silver eyes fixed on him.
"Long ti no see, Luna." Kael smiled and asked, "Are you searching for Biting Gnats?"
"I’ve never seen Biting Gnats on you, not even this ti." Luna replied in a singing voice.
Then she pointed at Harry, "But he’s got loads near his ear."
