The Nightmares all turned their heads.
They looked at Ian, who was still pondering which wood would best match the Nightmare tail feathers.
"Screech~"
The Nightmares let out a strange and piercing sound, resembling the cry of a giant bird, very orderly. The sudden noise startled many little wizards.
"Strange, these usually taciturn creatures, what's up with them today..." Hagrid hurriedly soothed the Nightmares as he guided the little wizards onto the carriages.
"Perhaps it's a form of homage."
Ririm had already approached Hagrid, quickly climbing into one of the carriages that passengers had hurriedly fled from, and smiled while waving to Ian and the others.
"How are you more skilled than , your senior!" Ian climbed up into the carriage, complaining while pulling Harry and Hermione onto the Nightmare carriage.
Neville and Ron also tried to climb in.
"For safety reasons, only four people can sit in one carriage, and you have other entrance experiences to undergo." Hagrid stopped the two and pulled Harry and Hermione down.
"..."
Harry and Hermione, who were already seated, looked speechless.
The road ahead was not unfamiliar to Ian.
The Nightmare carriage took them to the path outside Hogwarts Castle, then the first-year freshn crossed the river by boat, while professors were already waiting at the castle gate.
"Why is it you again this year, Professor Snape."
Hagrid saw the figure he had already seen once last year.
"Hmph."
Professor Snape just sneered.
Under the torchlight.
His gaze fell on Ian and the two beside him.
Harry and Hermione, filled with unknown fear and tension about the magical world, imdiately found Ian after getting off the boat, led by Harry.
"Later this professor will take you to the Great Hall, while us older students will first return to the dormitory to freshen up." Ian was explaining the enrollnt process to Harry and Hermione.
He hadn't even started the school tradition of "Sorting" when Snape had already approached him. This professor, with a sullen face, made Harry and Hermione very nervous.
"I heard you didn't stay put during the holidays either."
Snape first glared at Ian fiercely, then his gaze turned to Harry and Hermione, of course, lingering on Harry for the longest ti.
In his restless pupils, a very complex emotion.
"As I said, he will take you through the rest of the journey." Ian didn't want to be interrogated by Snape, so he imdiately dropped a sentence and slipped away.
Snape, in a very heavy mood, did not stop him.
"Co with , you two eleven-year-old giant babies." Snape snorted coldly, his tone filled with sarcasm, as he focused on Hermione, who was a bit uneasy after Ian left.
If he hadn't seen it wrong just now.
This little witch had been leaning close to his damn bully nephew...
"If I were you, I would stay away from that boy, that's a piece of advice." Snape spoke coldly to Hermione, word by word.
"Huh?"
Hermione was a bit bewildered.
At this ti.
Another freshman from a pure-blood family softly reminded her.
"Hogwarts' big sister won't like you getting close to that Ravenclaw." This might be part of the uniform training many pure-blood freshn received at ho this year.
Who knows if the technical advisor was Miss Daphne.
"Shut your mouth, Miss Prewett!" Snape glared at the student who spoke with great displeasure, causing the student to shrink their neck and quickly hide in the crowd.
"I've already said my piece, whether you listen or not is your own matter, I rarely offer such kindly advice." Snape glanced at the thin and timid Harry Potter.
His gaze at Hermione grew sowhat complicated.
There was a certain déjà vu.
That troubled him sowhat.
"All co with !"
Dropping a sentence, Snape swept his robe and walked to the front of the line—adeptly leading the group of freshn to the Great Hall where Hogwarts students' dreams set sail.
Professor McGonagall had long been waiting there.
Seniors from each house were curiously looking towards the entrance of the hall. Harry noticed Ian was currently chatting with a girl at a table marked with a snake emblem.
"Strange... isn't Ravenclaw's emblem an eagle?"
He was sowhat puzzled.
"Is that the Hogwarts' big sister the student ntioned earlier?" Hermione was rather surprised, finding that the girl with Ian was not quite what she imagined a "cheerleading captain" to be like.
She seed rather quiet?
"Now line up, we are about to begin sorting." Professor McGonagall's voice was as stern as ever, moving to the thousand-year-old position to prepare.
The freshn all curiously surveyed their surroundings.
In the splendid hall, professors of various disciplines and the legendary headmaster, wearing a white robe and looking at them with a cheerful smile, sat at the main table.
"Welco, everyone!"
Suddenly.
The Sorting Hat, which annually enjoyed disguising itself as an ordinary hat, abruptly opened its mouth, first savoring the rising surprise of the freshn.
Then.
