Chapter 579: Chapter 166: Banquet! Is It Ti to Don the Royal Robe? (Part 2)

"Huff, huff, huff~"

Lupin stuck his head out of the window to start taking fresh air.

Outside, the morning light filtered through sparse leaves, casting interwoven patterns of light and shadow on the ground. Each leaf seed to be bordered with a thin layer of gold. A gentle breeze carried hints of cool and refreshing air mixed with the earthy fragrance and the faint scent of distant flowers and grass.

"Huh?"

While adjusting his mood, he spotted a figure dragging a small suitcase.

Since the children were still sleeping and hadn’t gotten up, the orphanage courtyard seed a bit quiet, making anyone who ca into the yard from the building particularly conspicuous.

"Where are you headed?"

Lupin grabbed the pants beside him and slipped his legs into them, then grabbed his old coat and climbed out the window. The second-floor height posed no danger to him.

"School’s about to start, so I’m going to Diagon Alley to buy books and supplies for the new sester." Ian shook the list in his hand, which had arrived with Dumbledore’s gift last night.

Besides that, Grindelwald, Snape, and the orphanage director had all sent him birthday presents. Compared to Grindelwald’s Egyptian Crystal Ball and Dumbledore’s Magic Wand maintenance kit, Snape’s brand-new Magic Potion brewing equipnt wasn’t as thoughtful, as it was customized entirely for an adult-sized person.

Ian thought this was the good uncle taking revenge for his previous gift of shampoo.

"Are you going alone?"

Lupin glanced at Ian’s small suitcase.

"And Miss Hermione Granger... the daughter of that gentleman who previously donated to the orphanage. That gentleman asked

to provide them so assistance in Diagon Alley."

"They’re all Muggles, completely unaware of the Wizarding World." Ian was a kind-hearted person, particularly since Mr. Granger promised him Five Hundred Pounds, his kind-heartedness flared up again.

"I haven’t seen that dentist in the past few days?"

Lupin’s expression looked a bit puzzled.

"Uh."

Ian pondered for a mont and felt he should respond more gracefully, "Senior Lupin, don’t you know there’s sothing called a telephone in the world?"

Perhaps the Little Wizard’s way of expressing wasn’t tactful enough.

Hearing that left Lupin feeling extrely awkward.

"Alright... indeed, I forgot Muggles have their own communication thods." Scratching his head, Lupin tried to change the topic when he saw Ian holding a small gift box.

"Is that a present for that little girl with the big front teeth?"

Lupin’s eyes seed sowhat peculiar.

"??????"

Ian felt this guy’s brain was slightly shaped oddly.

"Didn’t I show you the invitation yesterday? Miss Greengrass invited

to her ho as a guest. So, I’m first headed to the Greengrass family then directly to Diagon Alley, to start hosting Miss Hermione Granger and her family tomorrow." Ian pulled out the invitation and explained his ti managent plan.

He’s very enthusiastic about socializing with peers.

It certainly wasn’t because Daphne Greengrass ntioned in her letter that if he visits, her father will reimburse Ian a whopping 200 Galleons for travel expenses. The fact that the Greengrass family would have Dragon at tonight happened to be an appealing place, which was also the main reason he prepared a gift.

"You’re going alone like this?"

Lupin voiced concern, reminding the Little Wizard, "The Greengrass Clan is not exactly well-aning. Their ancestors amassed considerable wealth by selling poor black slaves."

This Desperate Werewolf seed to know quite a lot about the Twenty-Eight Holy Races. Nevertheless, selling black slaves was sothing all the still-affluent families had engaged in.

During the Age of Exploration.

In the United Kingdom, whether Wizard or Muggle, the major families practically had no non-involvent in this trade.

"Selling black slaves? Certainly a deplorable practice, which is exactly why I should attend the banquet." Ian’s reasoning left Lupin sowhat baffled.

"What the hell?"

The tall, thin Lupin pondered long and hard but couldn’t untangle any logic.

"Since the Greengrass family’s gold cos from ill-gotten gains, I certainly need to try to take as many Galleons from them as possible. Do you know they’re reimbursing

200 Galleons for travel expenses?"

Seeing Lupin’s puzzled Werewolf expression, Ian patiently explained, "I can’t save the ancestors of my black friends, but I can liberate the Galleons exchanged for their ancestors!"

Such righteous declaration!

His sharply angled speech was solemnly delivered by the Little Wizard.

"..."

Lupin was completely at loss for words, his rationality told him it was evidently a Hell joke, yet he felt this Hell joke had so twisted reasoning?

Pffft, pfft, pfft!

I must be groggy from sleep!

"Aren’t you afraid they’ll have bad intentions towards you?" Lupin shook his slightly "polluted" mind, once again cautioning the Little Wizard seriously.

"If that’s really the case... it would be fantastic."

Ian’s response once again surprised Lupin, "I wouldn’t dare dream of such a good thing. If indeed any conflict arises, I would be rounding it off to saving all the ancestors of my black friends!"

His slightly expectant words.
