Chapter 540: Chapter 158: A New Story Begins!
Anyone familiar with the Harry Potter world knows that Remus Lupin is a very dangerous werewolf. When he was four years old, his father offended the werewolf Fenrir Greyback.
Out of revenge, the werewolf broke into the bedroom through the window and bit little Lupin. Since then, Lupin beca a werewolf. His parents tried all kinds of thods to save him but to no avail.
He and his parents both thought he couldn’t attend Hogwarts because other parents wouldn’t want their children near a werewolf. But after Albus Dumbledore beca headmaster, he devised so ways to allow Remus to attend Hogwarts, and since then, Lupin beca a loyal follower of Albus Dumbledore.
To enable Remus Lupin to complete his studies at Hogwarts, Dumbledore ordered the planting of a Whomping Willow on the school grounds.
The Whomping Willow hides the passage to the Screaming Shack in Hogsade, and every full moon, Remus Lupin would transform there via this secret path.
The purpose, of course, was to ensure the safety of other students and Remus himself. This is a little-known past, many people might only know the story of Lupin and Potter.
"Well, since you know who I am, I don’t need to introduce myself." Lupin looked a bit surprised, but he still sighed in relief and shoved the cheat sheet hidden in his sleeve into his pocket.
Sharp-eyed Ian saw the tiny words on the paper, detailing a fabricated identity background, like going bankrupt due to investnt failure and ending up on the streets.
To be honest.
Ian felt that just by standing here, Lupin exuded an aura of despair, and such a background seed fitting; however, he suspected Lupin couldn’t speak of experiences during wealth.
"Were you a wealthy businessman before your investnt failed?"
Ian spoke out the information he saw.
"The background setting is indeed like that."
Lupin calmly answered the young wizard’s question.
"In your wealthy days, how many eggs did a businessman eat for breakfast?" Ian, being of a skeptical nature, imdiately began questioning Lupin.
"Uh?"
Lupin instinctively wanted to find the cheat sheet.
"No looking at notes."
Ian’s words left the forlorn werewolf quite helpless.
"I think... at least five, with so sausages and vegetables." He could only ponder briefly and, based on his imagination, provide an answer.
"..."
Ian seed to envision a Western version of wealthy folks eating and wasting bowls of roasted chicken rice; he found it hard to imagine that soone so full of flaws could earn the trust of Lady Yelena.
"You didn’t cast a Confundus Charm on our headmistress, did you?"
Ian examined the sowhat nervous young werewolf with a peculiar expression.
"Of course not, Lady Yelena is a kind-hearted person, and she wouldn’t ask
such odd questions either." Lupin sighed helplessly.
"To infiltrate a place, aren’t you supposed to do relevant preparation first? Catherine said you’ve been at the orphanage for several weeks now, yet you haven’t even morized your fabricated identity!"
Ian seed to witness sothing very incredible.
"What can I do? I’m not a Ravenclaw... Perhaps you don’t know, I co from Gryffindor, so morizing has never been my strong suit." Lupin might indeed be considered an excellent wizard, however, like many outstanding Gryffindors, he seed to share a similar weakness.
"Even if you’re a Gryffindor, when it cos to doing business, you should earn with a good conscience, right?" Ian said, as if rembering sothing else.
"Oh, by the way, there’s sothing you might find interesting, which is that Gryffindor’s scores aren’t much this year, Ravenclaw’s scores are higher." His random comnt left Lupin dumbfounded for quite a while.
"I didn’t take any money..."
It took him a while before he quietly replied.
Alright.
Now it’s clear who the truly heartless capitalist is.
"No worries, I’ll give you so." Ian pulled out a heavy money bag and handed it to Lupin, filled with copper Knuts he was starting to disdain.
A Golden Galleon equals four hundred ninety-three copper Knuts, so even a full bag like this doesn’t amount to one Golden Galleon; Ian felt embarrassed to deposit it at Gringotts.
Of course.
Having grown accustod to poverty, Lupin surely wouldn’t disdain it.
"Are you trying to bribe ?"
Despite his eyes glued to the money bag, he still didn’t lower his dignity to accept the young wizard’s charity, as his adult wizard’s self-respect refused such donations.
"This is your deserved paynt."
Ian stuffed the money bag into Lupin’s clothes. Whether it was because he felt sumr was too cold or for other reasons, Lupin’s instinctive embrace of his clothes appeared quite amusing.
"Dumbledore said you’re wealthy and told
not to be polite with you." Lupin seed to attempt a forced dignity retrieval, glanced around, and then stepped aside from blocking the door.
"Want to co in and chat?"
He seed to be certain that the young wizard might have many questions in his mind.
"Did Dumbledore send you to protect ?" Ian walked into the sowhat shabby room, feeling he had guessed why Lupin appeared at Wu’s Orphanage.
