Chapter 64- The Child Of Gold (Part 3)

"Violet!" He yelled as he turned around. "We need to get out of here, now!!"

Violet, who reacted a bit slower, looked down and saw the sight as the eyes started moving in unison. Her heart dropped to her stomach. ’That wasn’t darkness... They were spiders!!’ She yelled in her head as she grabbed her father’s shoulder.

"Pick Emily up, we need to run!"

"What’s happening?"

"No ti to explain, move, move!" Violet said as the group started running quickly. At the sa ti, the ground beneath their feet started shaking violently as the horde of spiders rose from the pit and chased them. An incomprehensible number of them invaded the entire area in seconds as they started closing the distance down.

"We won’t be able to run far!" Teo yelled as he saw the monsters behind them and screeched. The sight alone made his legs give out from fear. How could you even escape this overwhelming wave of spiders?

"Move, move!!" Violet said as she turned around and threw a large ice spike at the monsters. The spike exploded amongst them, spreading the ice layer on the targets, slowing them down. At the sa ti, Alex used his arrows to create several hurdles in the spiders’ path. Rocks, debris, webs, and everything he could see.

The monsters, however, weren’t easily stopped as they could easily climb over debris and cut through their own webs. It only bought them a few seconds of ti they could use to run.

"We need to make it back to the car! That’s our only way out!" Alex yelled as he shot a few more arrows, trying to stop the monsters from flanking them. At this point, he could see that they were being actively surrounded and trapped inside this maze of webs.

They only had one path to move through, so they couldn’t even maneuver their way out of this big trap.

’This is bad. This is really bad!’ Violet gulped as she looked behind her. Her family can’t really run fast, and she knew they wouldn’t be able to reach the car in ti. So, her mind was already trying to think of another way. There had to be a way.

Her eyes wandered left and right, but there was truly nothing to be used. The reality slowly dawned on her. She was completely powerless, and the monsters were closing down on them.

"Alex!" Clenching her teeth, she looked at Alex. "Take my parents and Teo ahead. I will try to stop them for a bit."

"Huh?"

Before Alex could react, Violet stopped and turned around. "Ti to try that ability... I haven’t gotten the opportunity to since I got it."

Sucking a deep breath, Violet looked at the waves of spiders as she channeled her Essence. At the sa ti, light ford in her hands as she aid them down. Crouching to the ground, she tapped her hands on it as she spoke.

"Rise." She muttered. At the sa ti, the light was channeled from her hands to the ground, quickly separating into four different large spots. Then, the light started growing and rising from the ground, forming shapes that nobody could understand. They twisted and turned, molding into sothing more distinct... A human shape.

Each light turned into a humanoid with a blue, translucent skin. These were Undead, the sa ones Violet killed, and then she used her ability to summon them. These monsters were naturally weaker than the Undead she fought, but they were at least useful as decoys and as fodder.

Imdiately, Violet felt a connection with the Undead, so she instinctively ordered them to attack. The Undead quickly sprang into motion as they ran forward. At the sa ti, Violet summoned her cycle again and started raining down every single ability one after the other.

She didn’t care what was happening around her, ice, rocks, fire, all blended together to form an endless barrage of projectiles hitting the front line of the spiders, and for a few seconds, Violet was able to slow them down a bit.

The Undead clashed with the spiders, and for a few monts, they brawled and bit them violently. Since the mutated spiders weren’t humans, the bites didn’t really turn them into Undead. That was sothing that seed to only work on humans.

"Violet!" Cain yelled when he saw his daughter stop and face the danger head-on. "We can’t let her do that! She will get herself killed!"

Alex, on the other hand, was in the biggest dilemma of his life. Even as he pushed her family back, he wanted to run back to help her. His fear and worry overwheld his mind. But, at the sa ti, if he left her family alone, they would be in imnse danger.

’Fuck! Fuck this!’ He cursed. "I need to get you to safety first. I will hurry back to help her!"

"Big sis..." Emily muttered with tears in her eyes.

The situation is disastrous. The few seconds Violet bought were naturally far from enough. The monsters quickly recovered and the Undead were instantly swept away, getting torn apart and then dissipating into thin air.

Violet clicked her tongue as she started retreating while raining down her abilities with all her power. The monsters closed the distance down rapidly and she found herself getting overwheld from every side.

She panicked, accelerating her speed. The spiders seed to anticipate that as they lunged at her.

"VIOLET!!!!" Alex yelled from a distance, his eyes widening to the extre as his heart stopped beating. Everything slowed to a halt, and the world felt like it had just lost all its color. The feeling he experienced at that mont was unlike anything he had experienced before.

The fear... The anxiety... The sense of loss. He felt it... He was going to lose Violet at that mont, and he couldn’t do anything about it.

He tried to move his body, but it refused to move. It was paralyzed. His eyes were the only thing that moved as they saw the spiders land on Violet.

At the sa ti, as their fangs were about to sink into her flesh... Sothing happened.

*Swish*

A flash of golden light appeared in their vision out of nowhere.
