Chapter 44- The Rise (Part 2)

Rein didn’t even bother to look at Teo anymore. As much as he was extrely pissed at this idiot’s lack of intelligence, he couldn’t really bla him much. In his eyes, Virgo was probably a nice gentleman who saved his life from death, and he probably introduced himself as a colleague or a friend of Violet, so the idiot fell for the trick and told them where they went.

’This is so annoying. What are the chances this idiot cos across Virgo of all people? It’s a bit too cruel, don’t you think?’ Rein asked in his head as he looked at Violet. She was naturally speechless and distraught, but he could tell that she wasn’t going to react strongly to it.

"It’s pointless to talk about it now. What had happened had happened." Rein said. "We need to focus on finding them first."

"... I’m so confused."

"Tell , Teo. Did that man bring you sowhere safe?" Rein asked.

"Mmmm, yeah, actually, he brought with them to this warehouse where he was hiding. I thought I could stay there for the night, but then they suddenly kicked out of it, and I had to walk all the way back here on my feet."

"Can you show where that warehouse is?" Rein asked.

"..."

***

Right on the outskirts of the city, there was an entire district of warehouses and factories, mostly used for massive industrial production of tal and other kinds of goods. This district was rather distant from the main parts of the city and could only be accessed through one road, making it a relatively safe part of the city.

Naturally, it was also the perfect place to hide since there were countless warehouses, buildings, vehicles, and many tools for survival. It also gives a huge advantage to the people who knew that area well, as it had so many roads, alleys, and entrances everywhere.

Rein, Violet and Teo arrived at the district 20 minutes later. Navigating the city at night was very tricky with all the monsters infesting it. Many were already reaching Level 6 and above, making them hard to handle for Violet.

However, she was surprisingly growing fast. Her ability to fight and her intelligence made her capable of killing her enemies swiftly and cleanly, leveling up several tis due to that.

"We need to jump over these gates..." Rein said as he stopped at large tal gates that surrounded the entire district.

"I will go ahead and scan the area, then you two can follow," Rein said.

"Ok..."

Rein nodded and then jumped up, grabbing the door as he climbed and peeked through. Looking left and right, the entire place was very quiet and dark, with many vehicles inside. He could see a few dead corpses here and there, but nothing else that could raise an eyebrow.

So, Rein slowly climbed over and jumped down. ’Hmmm, nothing. They’re very quiet.’ He thought to himself before he spread his senses as far as he could to try to locate any person.

Sadly, nothing ca back. So, he signaled for Violet and Teo to follow him. The trio then started sneaking their way deeper and deeper into the district. Moving through the shadows and behind buildings.

"The warehouse s-should be over there," Teo said as he pointed at a particular building on the other side.

Rein nodded his head and then scanned the area with his eyes. Approaching the building in the open would be suicide. He could already guess that there were snipers and other ard n located in many different buildings around them.

’I need to locate them all.’ Rein thought to himself as he looked at Violet. "I need to climb one of the buildings. Stay here and I want you to alert to anything happening."

"Be careful, Rein."

Rein nodded before he snuck his way back and climbed the ladder on the back of a building nearby. He made sure to stay completely quiet and silent the entire ti. He knew a single noise could truly spill their end. Luckily, the violet storm, the rain and the wind shrouded any noise he could’ve missed which made his job easier.

Eventually, Rein reached the top and peeked at the rooftop. There, as he expected, was a man, laying on his stomach with a sniper aid down at the path leading to the building where Virgo was potentially.

Rein looked left and right and easily located two more on two different buildings. ’They have covered each other’s blind area perfectly. However...’

They were still in blinding darkness, against soone who sees far better than they do and moves way faster than they could ever.

Rein slowly snuck up to the rooftop and moved silently toward the sniper. His entire presence was so silent that nobody could feel him. When he got close enough from him, Rein inhaled silently before he suddenly lunged down and grabbed his neck.

Then, before the man could even react, he snapped his neck swiftly. That thod made it impossible for him to even make a small pained noise, let alone cry for help. It was the best way to silently kill soone.

Then, Rein pushed the sniper aside and took his earpiece before he put it in his other ear as he used the sniper to aim.

Pointing it at several buildings, he located every single sniper.

’10 in total... Hmmm, quite a lot. That bastard had really infiltrated the agency thoroughly. Scouting this many agents is unheard of.’ Rein frowned. ’Even more of a reason to kill him. He will do too much damage if I let him live.’

With that idea in mind, Rein was about to stand up again when his earpiece rang.

"Is everything clear?" A man asked in his ear.

"Nothing on my side."

"Nothing on mine, either."

Rein frowned as he heard that. Then, they went silent for a few seconds.

"Anything on your side, Ken?" They asked. Rein imdiately figured out that they were talking to him.

If he didn’t reply, his presence would be exposed, and they would imdiately try to attack. Rein’s next move had to be precise, or he was completely screwed.

So, instead of replying, Rein grabbed the sniper as he aid it at a particular spot before...

*BANG*

He shot the sniper as the bullet flew through the air and hit the wall of the building.

"What was that?!"

"He’s here!"

"Where did that bullet co from?"

Rein then grabbed his earpiece amidst the chaos of the agents as he spoke. He made sure to change his voice as much as possible.

"I think it ca from near the gate."

Since everyone was panicking, they didn’t really focus on whose voice it was. There were at least a dozen talking over each other.

Rein used that opportunity and retreated quietly and descended.

’Ti for the real show to begin.’

Even if he was completely outnumbered, and even if they were ready for him and knew the place better than he did... They were simply not going to win.

For what reason? Simply because their enemy was Rein Silversoul. That alone tips the scales in his favor completely.

He was the judgnt that was long overdue.
