Chapter 31- Evolution Master (Part 4)
The entire place felt like it was subrged in a horrifying darkness as the pressure and strong aura of the Grizzly bear pressed everyone down. Rein had never felt such a thing before in his life. It was like his body was refusing to move and begging him to turn around and run as fast as he could, leaving everyone behind him.
He didn’t want to admit it, but at that mont, Rein felt afraid... Really afraid. He could tell the bear was leagues above him in strength and even speed. There wasn’t even a need for him to fight it head-on to know that.
On top of that, it seed to have sothing no other mutated monster he had encountered had.
’Skills... It can fucking use skills.’ Rein cursed inwardly as he looked at its pointy fur that was aid straight at him. ’It seems it has the ability to throw its fur hair like sharp darts.’ Touching his bleeding shoulder, he felt how deep that spike went, and he knew that another one, possibly to a vital organ or his neck, could be fatal.
"GRRRRR..."
"A-Ah... AAAAAAH!!" Teo was the first to break that horrifying spell as he stepped back, falling to the ground before he stood up and started running.
"Teo!" Violet yelled. At the sa ti, as if the man’s yell was a sign, the monster lunged forward at Rein.
"Violet, run!!" Rein said as he quickly dashed to the side.
*BOOOOOM*
Slamming its paw into the ground, it dug a hole into the hard concrete as debris flew everywhere. Then, before Rein could even react, it launched its spikes everywhere around it.
’Fuck!’ Rein swung his sword left and right, deflecting the two before he dashed toward the monster and leapt in the air.
’Fortified Fist!’ He clenched his teeth as he charged his punch to the full degree. The monster looked up as it swung its paw.
*BANG*
Rein’s fist clashed with the monster’s paw, sending him flying back in the air. He felt his arm numb from the impact, as if he had hit a wall made out of fortified steel. However, Rein quickly balanced himself as he flipped around, landing on the wall.
Then, before he could fall, he launched himself forward with all the strength in the world.
’Gravity Manipulation!’
He increased his sword’s weight to the limit of his ability, making it feel akin to a heavy bounder. That montum made his launch even more brutal.
The bear seed to notice that as it tried to run out of range and launch its spikes. However, Rein didn’t allow it as he threw his sword with all the power he could muster.
The weapon flew like a spear, cutting through the air with imnse speed.
’I won’t let you!!’
Stabbing the monster in the back, it dug into its side, drawing blood out.
"RAWR!!!" The monster cried in pain as it fell to the side. Rein quickly rushed toward it and grabbed the sword as he tried to plunge it deep into its abdon. However, that was when he realised the second horrifying fact about this creature...
’My sword... It didn’t dig beyond its thick skin...’ His eyes widened as he felt the looming danger.
The monster recovered from the impact as it threw its paw at him.
’Shit!!’
Before Rein could react, the paw slamd into his body, launching him back.
"Ugh..." Rein felt all the breath get knocked out of his lungs as he slamd into the wall at full force. His entire body rumbled as if his bones were about to turn into dust. He couldn’t see for a second while slowly falling to the ground.
"Hah..." He inhaled a sharp, pained breath before he quickly grabbed his sword as he saw the large monster charging at him. ’I won’t... move in ti!’ He cursed.
At that mont, out of nowhere, a fireball appeared in sight as it hit the monster in the side. The creature stopped and looked to the side.
There, it saw Violet, with a fireball floating in her hand.
"No... Violet..." Rein said as he tried to stand up.
"I won’t... I won’t let you harm Rein!" She said with a scared yet determined look. The creature stared at it sharply before it growled and turned to look at Rein. It seed that the fireball didn’t harm it whatsoever. Its important target was this strong human.
Then, it tried to slam its paw down on him. Rein quickly used his sword as he protected himself.
*CLING*
All the weight of that large arm fell on him, and his knees instantly bent down, and his arms almost gave out.
"HNNNG!! So... heavy!!!" He used all the power he could muster. However, the monster was still way stronger than him, naturally. Slowly, it pressed him down, not bothered by the fireballs being thrown at it from the side. They didn’t even burn its fur, let alone harm it.
’Think, Rein... Think!’ Rein clenched his teeth as he looked up. ’I’m going to get crushed to death.’
That was when he suddenly thought of sothing. Without waiting another second, he tried to do it.
[You have assigned 4 points to strength.]
Suddenly, he felt a strong rush of power take over his body as his muscles pumped with newfound energy. Enough energy for him to push against the monster for a split second, taking it by surprise.
That was when Rein quickly jumped to the side as the paw slamd into the ground, turning it into dust.
Rolling twice, he landed on his feet before he dashed back. The monster howled loudly from sheer rage at its prey escaping it before it charged at him, cutting the distance down to half almost instantly.
"Rein!!"
"Don’t chase , Violet! Just move with Alex! I will find a way to take care of it!" He yelled as he took a sharp turn around the corner, running into the open street.
"Ugh, I hate you!" Violet yelled before she turned to Alex. "We will try to assist him! That thing will kill him instantly if it catches him!"
"That bastard... He does it every single ti." Alex grumbled as he chased after Violet. ’I swear I will kill you myself.’
***
"RAWR!!!"
Rein rushed to the other side of the street with the large bear in tow. ’How do I even kill this thing? My sword can’t pierce its hide. It’s possibly higher than Level 10.’
That was after all the limit of his sword. It cannot deal much damage to anything beyond Level 10, which was already way more than he could’ve asked for.
’I need to find another thod to kill it. Just like that bald eagle. Except this thing is way smarter. It knows what to do exactly.’
*SLAM*
The monster launched itself into the air as it slamd down with its paw. Rein quickly rolled on the ground, barely dodging the hit as he rushed to a random building and jumped inside.
The monster slamd its body into the wall, shaking the entire building as if it were made out of wood.
"Haha... Not that fast, are you?" Rein said with a nervous laugh.
However, before he could even celebrate his escape for a good second, the monster stopped hitting the building before it turned around and aid its fur.
’Fuck... ...’
