Chapter 998
He always wore a wristwatch and a red bracelet. The bracelet was slender, and it didn’t quite match the wristwatch. But he had been wearing it like this for a while and would only take it off to fight.
But now, he wasn’t wearing it.
She looked at the back of the man’s head, truly curious about what he had been doing here.
"Aside from the hotel and the exam venue, don’t go anywhere else on your own. If you want to have fun, I’ll take you around once everything is settled," he said slowly.
When he didn’t get a response from the girl, he turned around.
He happened to see her lost in thought.
Her features were not soft and warm, but more of the radiant cold beauty type. But whenever she zoned out, lost in thought, or concentrated on eating, a cute attribute surfaced, making people unable to resist pinching her cheek or planting a kiss on it.
She was a treasure.
Alexander’s slender fingers pinched her cheek, successfully bringing her back from her thoughts.
"What are you thinking about?"
"You," Chloe looked into his eyes and answered, each word carrying a deeper aning.
By ’thinking’ she ant pondering, not missing him.
Yet, pleasure flickered in the man’s eyes. He suppressed it and said, "Think about after I leave, for now, just watch."
Chloe let go of his hand, saying, "What did you an by what you said just now? What happened here?"
From his understanding of her, she should not need an escort to go out and have fun unless this place was unsafe, extrely unsafe.
"There’s been a little conflict at the border and there’s been so fighting. A lot of people have fled here, and the locals basically don’t go out at night."
Chloe seed to rember sothing. It must have been when they arrived, there were people on the street discussing. She had heard it, but it didn’t register in her mind.
Now that Alexander had brought it up, she vaguely rembered.
"The exam is closed, just like a winter camp. I can move freely only after five days."
The two selected a restaurant with food styles similar to those in Grearon and walked in.
Alexander took the nu handed over by the waiter and asked while looking through it, "This is good. I will co pick you up after your exam, what do you want to eat?"
Chloe cast her eyes down on her own nu, "Spicy food, I want to eat extrely spicy food."
Last night at the Foster’s, Aunt Evelyn specially advised her not to eat spicy food since she had an exam coming up. She could only eat food that was slightly spicy. During the dinner with the dical staff, there wasn’t any spicy food at all, which made her crave it even more.
Alexander looked down and chose so numbing spicy dishes, and picked a few light dishes to neutralize the greasiness.
The dishes in foreign countries are quite monotonous and lack variety compared to back ho. Their version of spicy is not actually that spicy.
So, Chloe specifically asked for a bowl of chili powder, using it as a dip.
Upon seeing a table full of spicy dishes, Chloe’s eyes lit up. The yearning in her heart was finally satisfied.
Alexander wasn’t good with spicy food and mostly ate the mild dishes.
Chloe dipped the pork belly in chili powder and put it in his bowl, "Give it a try."
Alexander looked at the at covered in chili powder, feeling like he was stripped naked and thrown into a mud pit.
He frowned unconsciously and then hesitantly picked up the piece of at and put it in his mouth.
"How is it?"
The man tasted it slowly and quietly drained his water.
His lips instantly turned rosy and seed a bit swollen.
"It’s delicious," he said.
Chloe chuckled.
"You’re better suited for mild and light flavors."
Like her, Alexander took a piece of at, dipped it in chili powder and ate it, "I like spicy."
During the al, Alexander drank five glasses of water, finishing each glass.
Chloe only drank half a cup, with no trace of being affected by the spiciness on her face.
