Chapter 869

Chloe Collins, enamored by the delicious food, decided to eat first before thinking further.

The television was playing a variety show.

By coincidence, it was the episode where she and Robert Foster were on!

The footage of Shelby Hamilton was heavily edited due to her bullying of a newcor within the sa company, thus scenes with Raine Nolan, who was in her team, were also cut. Only so parts where she deliberately opposed Chloe remained, like the archery segnt.

While filming, she had no idea. It wasn’t until now when she watched the show, did she realize that they had added a lot of internal reactions for her.

When she was silent, she actually wasn’t thinking about anything.

The show added a subtitle for her though: "The senior just now is so handso."

She was doing archery to tarnish Shelby Hamilton’s reputation, but the post-production staff spun it into her showcasing her skills in front of so handso guys.

Showed her staring blankly in a certain direction. In the fra, it magically turned into her staring at a male star, with an added subtext: "Brother is so handso, I wish I could give him perfu."

She was portrayed as a little fan girl.

After a while, she lost interest in watching further, as it was distasteful to her.

Just as she was about to start eating, she felt the icy aura of the man sitting next to her.

His eyes were glued to the TV unblinkingly, with a piece of shrimp in his hand snapped into two pieces.

Only when the cara moved away from her face, his icy aura began to fade away slowly.

"This is just how the entertainnt industry works. Otherwise, there will be no highlights." said Chloe calmly.

Alexander Foster: "Unscrupulous show."

Chloe: "How do you know that wasn’t what I was actually thinking about?"

Alexander Foster gave her a serious look, as if asking: really?

Chloe returned his peculiar gaze, didn’t say anything, and resud eating her al.

After a while, the man served her a dish and asked, "Would you call Bennett ’brother’?"

Chloe: "I could."

"Try calling his na."

Chloe, unaware of the smile on his face, said, "He’s not here."

Alexander Foster: "How do you know him?"

Chloe: "I t him by chance."

Alexander probably figured out what had happened, but it was hard for him to associate her with the people he used to know.

She said, "When I first started, I was bullied. Then I was punished to sweep the floor, where I first t him. He’s a good person, gave dicine, helped out of the predicant."

Smile on Alexander Foster’s face gradually stiffened, his beautiful eyes were heavy with thoughts.

In his mory, a frail and miserable figure overlie with Chloe’s.

He knew about the tragic experiences of the little girl from others. Seeing the blood on her wrist, he felt pity and took care of her a little.

It was too long ago. He couldn’t quite rember the na of that girl.

But he rembered that she was strong, smart, and even kind.

Not many could tolerate his Great-Grandmother’s bad temper; they often ended up crying due to her scolding. However, she was different; she was unaffected.

His thoughts drifted deep into his mory, and then the words of those people suddenly echoed in his ears:

"Did you hear? She ssed with Cold Lizard. She was suspended on a big screen for an afternoon, and now she’s being punished to clean up the Desolate Valley!"

"Being hung on the big screen is nothing. What happened before that was even worse! Cold Lizard has a boat, and she was imprisoned on that boat for more than a week. It is said that she was hung on the mast, exposed to the weather and even dipped into the sea on a tir. She was pulled up when almost suffocating, then they repeated this process. It’s hellish torture, far worse than death!"

"When she was rescued and brought back, the female doctor who treated her was shocked. She said she had never seen any girl in such a miserable condition. Her whole body was covered in injuries, her face unrecognizable. Both of her eyes were swollen from being punched. Apparently, it might affect her vision and her nose and mouth were also wounded. The most terrifying part was she didn’t eat anything for days, so she could die at any mont!"
