Chapter 844
"The reason will be apparent at a glance," he replied.
His statent left everyone perplexed.
He slowly rose from his seat, walked over to the TV cabinet, picked up a remote control, and turned on the television.
In no ti, a grid of nine pictures appeared on the screen, each showing a different scene.
In the largest quadrant, they could see themselves.
Surveillance.
The Leader’s expression changed.
Chloe Collins’s face also changed.
Nobody had anticipated this move.
They hadn’t seen any surveillance caras.
As the footage was paused, Bennett White handed the remote control to the Leader. "Leader, the truth you seek is right here."
The Leader suddenly tightened his grip on the remote control, his gaze fixed on the man who seed to predict the future.
A mont later, he set down the remote control, evidently intending not to watch further.
Chloe Collins breathed a sigh of relief.
Suddenly, soone entered.
"Leader, soone has accused Bennett White and a newcor nad Fu of having a personal relationship. This newcor nad Fu has entered and left Bennett White’s house freely several tis, and Bennett White has told Lunar Montgory to inform others that Fu can co and go freely in the Second Courtyard in the future."
This brought a new wave of hope to the Leader.
He casually switched off the surveillance and said, "Bring in the witness."
Chloe Collins’s heart jumped up into her throat.
As the people entered, she understood.
These people were all under Cold Lizard’s command.
They were the three won who had confronted her.
"Leader, we are mbers of Cold Lizard’s team."
The Leader looked authoritative and said, "Tell everything you know."
"Yes!"
Black Whip Woman stood up, then glanced at her, shock clearly showing in her eyes. Then she smirked and said indignantly, "Leader, this is what happened. This newcor was disrespectful, and after offending the Team Leader, she was punished according to the rules and sent to sweep Desolate Valley for a week to reflect on her actions.
She took this opportunity to deceive the gatekeeper of Desolate Valley, Great-Grandmother, and used her to get closer to Bennett White. Her sche was successful; Bennett White let her into his house that sa day, and even took out many things. He also had his assistant Lunar Montgory warn others not to cause trouble for this newcor. Isn’t such blatant favoritism enough evidence?"
The other woman added, "In addition to this, Bennett White hurt the three of us for her sake. Every word we speak is true. If we lie, may we be struck by lightning!"
The Leader lifted his head, and the three won stopped talking.
The Master glared at Bennett White and said, "There’s eyewitness testimony and physical evidence. Do you have anything to say, Bennett White?"
He slowly replied, "You don’t need to explain anything else. Just clarify what they have just said."
Chloe Collins knelt down on one knee. "Leader, when I was here before, I was running errands for Great-Grandmother. If you don’t believe , you can ask her."
Black Whip Woman protested, "Leader, Great-Grandmother is biased in favor of Bennett White. In order to protect him, she will say anything. We cannot trust her words!"
Chloe Collins spoke with a desperate resolution, "The reason I appeared on Bennett White’s second floor is that I saw one of the Leader’s n putting a glow-in-the-dark pearl into Bennett White’s wardrobe. This is their evidence."
She took out the glow-in-the-dark pearl from her pocket and placed it on the table.
Silence fell over the room.
Chloe Collins hung her head, her face within the mask showing no fear.
She could endure pain, but she couldn’t bear to see others suffer wrongly because of her.
Besides, it was the perfect opportunity to expose the Leader’s malfeasance.
