Chapter 720
As the Lunar New Year approached, she had been dreaming of playing with her mother these past few days.
As soon as she opened the door, she asked, "Master, is my mom here?"
Just then, she noticed the backpack in her Master’s hands.
The style was like sothing a child would use.
She blinked and asked, "Master, what is this for? Is my mom not coming? Is this a gift from her?"
Master Songya’s eyes showed a look of distress, and his calloused hand gently patted his thirteen-year-old disciple as he softly said, "Your mom is busy, so she asked your brother White to pick you up."
"Big White?"
Chloe revealed a curious look: "But didn’t Big White say he wouldn’t visit until March next year?"
Master replied, "Yes, your brother White couldn’t spare the ti, so he sent soone close to him to pick you up. You should leave with them today, alright?"
"Leave? Where am I going? For the winter break?"
Masterhesitated and said, "You’re going to have so fun for a while, and after so ti, your mom will send soone to pick you up."
Chloe thought for a mont and said, "Are there still people trying to kill ?"
Master Songya was silent.
"I knew it. Last ti they ca once, and if it weren’t for my junior, I would be dead by now."
She still rembered being attacked in the middle of the night last ti, unable to see, and running in a daze to the courtyard of Nineteen, her fellow junior. She spent the night there.
When she woke up the next day, she was still lying on top of him.
Master lowered his head and slowly said to her, "Listen to , and also, listen to your mom. The temple is too dangerous. When your mom resolves the danger, she’ll bring you back, OK?"
Chloe took over the backpack, with many thoughts running through her head, but she obediently said, "I understand, Master."
Master Songya showed a relieved look.
After finishing her breakfast, she carried a pot of hot soup and headed to the courtyard she hadn’t visited in a long ti.
It was snowing, and the red lacquered main gate in front of her was half-buried in snow, tightly closed.
She put down the kettle in her hand and ran up to knock on the door.
She knocked, but there was no response.
Not willing to give up, she climbed over the wall and jumped into the courtyard.
The small courtyard, which had been peaceful and quiet just over two months ago, was now covered with white snow and branches at a glance.
The doors in the courtyard were all tightly closed, indicating that no one was living there.
"Junior!" She shouted once.
"Mr. Ford?" She yelled again.
Sothing fell, and she opened her palm to see a few snowflakes.
A gust of wind rose in the yard, and no one answered her.
All she did was leave for two months of school and her junior was gone.
She took the kettle and went back the sa way, looking back at the wall and courtyard with a hollow feeling in her heart.
She had intended to say goodbye.
Before noon that day, a chubby man suddenly appeared at the temple gate, saying he was there to pick her up.
At that ti, she was sitting on a swing swinging back and forth.
Soon after, a senior disciple ca in and said to her, "Eleven, co out quickly, the person who’s supposed to pick you up is here."
As soon as the senior disciple finished speaking, the snowflakes that had fallen on her hand were carried away by the wind.
"So soon? Weren’t they supposed to co in the afternoon?"
"They’re already here, talking to Master. You’d better go quickly."
She jumped off the swing and walked out.
As soon as she entered the room, she saw a friendly-looking man talking to her Master.
Upon seeing her, he quickly stood up.
"This must be Miss Chloe. I’m the one Young Master White sent, and you can call chubby man."
