Chapter 1653
She collected herself and said, "I’m just a minor underling under our leader, targeting is useless. Why don’t you let go, and I’ll plead on your behalf, escorting you out of here?"
"Do you think we’re three-year-old children?" the female police officer laughed.
The woman had nothing to say and could only fret anxiously.
Chloe Collins turned around and simply stated, "Whether it’s with an iron chain or handcuffs, tie her up and send her to the military."
Jas Cunningham agreed and quickly fetched a pair of handcuffs and leg shackles, putting them on her.
She was a mutated person with abilities stronger than a normal human; this was the only way.
The woman’s face tightened as she said, "What’s the use of doing this? I’m not an important figure; even if you want to use as a bargaining chip, it won’t work! It definitely won’t!"
Chloe Collins shot her a cold glance, her voice chilly, "Won’t we know whether it’s useless or not after we try?"
"Take her away."
The woman struggled fiercely and yelled out, extrely unwilling.
Before long, she was escorted away by two of Jas Cunningham’s male teammates.
In the room, only Chloe Collins, Jas Cunningham, and three others remained.
"Miss Collins, what about him?" the female police officer asked, looking at the robot that had powered down on the floor.
Chloe Collins’s expression softened slightly as she said indifferently, "Wait for my husband to return, and I’ll discuss with him how to modify the robot’s programming so it can be utilized by us."
Jas Cunningham rembered that both she and Alexander Foster had ho robot research and developnt companies and managed them well, but did not know they also had the ability to modify robots. At that mont, he couldn’t help but admire.
"Then we’ll leave it to you, Miss Collins."
Chloe Collins leaned against the wall, glancing outside the door, where no one else was present.
"When my husband cos back, you just tell him that it was mostly you who dealt with them and that I didn’t do much."
Jas Cunningham laughed, "Are you afraid he’ll worry about you?"
"Miss Collins, with the skills you possess, I think Mr. Foster is worrying too much," the female police officer said with a smile.
Jas Cunningham replied, "You don’t understand; this is what we call love’s confusion. No matter how strong Miss Collins is, in her husband’s eyes, she’s just a young miss. If it were , I would be heartbroken too; otherwise, why would Miss Collins need to send him away?"
The female police officer nodded, then rembering sothing, she asked, "By the way, Miss Collins, how did you figure out there was sothing wrong with this mother and son?"
Chloe Collins said casually, "They behaved too perfectly, too calmly; it didn’t make sense."
Jas Cunningham nodded, "Exactly, this woman explained her reasons and intentions for being here quite clearly from the mont she appeared, as if she feared soone might doubt her. And this child, too calm, not crying or fussing, and not even showing a single facial expression."
"That’s exactly why," Chloe Collins concurred.
Jas Cunningham changed the subject, asking, "What about Milton White? Actually, the woman made a point, Milton White is the root cause."
Chloe Collins fell silent.
She said, "No worries, I’ll handle it. You all go get so rest."
Jas Cunningham knew she had things she preferred not to say, so he didn’t press further: "Alright then, we’ll head out."
After the three of them left, only Chloe Collins and the robot remained in the room.
Chloe Collins twirled a pen, contemplating the situation.
She had not associated this assassination attempt with Milton White, but thought it was the other person residing in his body who wanted it.
A long ti ago, Milton White had ntioned that the other person wanted to kill her.
It had been the sa during the incident at Autumn Cetery; that person had taken advantage of her unguarded state, always trying to put her to death.
Even knowing this, her heart was not quite calm at this mont.
It wasn’t long before Alexander Foster returned with so acidic food and quite a few other items.
