Chapter 1578
Tristan Collins hadn’t slept all night, his eyes were red-tinged from exhaustion, as he kept vigil over Milton White who lay next to him.
He stiffened as Milton White slowly opened his eyes.
"Awake!" His voice was deep and resonant.
Milton White blinked slowly, staring at the ceiling in confusion, only to then show an air of disdain and arrogance.
He tried to sit up, instinctively wanting to rub his temples to ease the tension, only to realize his hands were bound in handcuffs.
"Damn it, this fool!" A shadow of irritation flickered in his eyes.
While Tristan was wondering who this man was, the little girl tugging at his clothes said, "Uncle, he’s not Milty, he’s soone else."
Tristan saw it too.
"You may go order breakfast to be brought to the doorway," he instructed the little girl.
She paused for a mont and then left.
She wanted Milty to eat and regain strength.
Only the two of them were left in the room.
"Mr. Collins, don’t tell you did all this," Milton White’s voice was laced with a dangerous edge.
Tristan didn’t flinch, his gaze burned as he replied, "Tell , is Joy Taylor really dead?"
Milton White paused briefly, then scoffed, "Are you not the one who buried her? Shouldn’t you know better whether she’s dead or not?"
Tristan squinted, then abruptly rose, "That doesn’t matter now. I can wait for him to wake up and ask."
Milton White’s face changed.
He had important things to deal with. He must!
It had always been like this, each ti he had a significant task to undertake; he would wake up staring at a ceiling, hands shackled with handcuffs!
The key was always with Milton White, thus forever restricting his freedom.
Ti after ti, Milton White hindered his work and stole his body.
Now, though, the difference was that there was soone else.
With that thought, he gave a slow smile and said to Tristan, "You’re right, your wife is not dead. Release , and I’ll take you to her."
Tristan, suppressing his wild joy, stood up sharply, "Are you telling the truth?"
"Of course, it’s true, why would I lie to you?" He returned the smile.
Almost dizzy with happiness, Tristan stretched out his hand towards the handcuffs but stopped. He slowly pulled back his hand.
"Forget it, to get out, you’d probably blurt out a couple of lies. I’ll wait for him to wake before deciding!"
He walked out of the room briskly, a smile unlike any seen in the past twenty years traced his face.
No matter what, he believed that Joy Taylor was still alive!
Otherwise, the coffin would not be empty.
Not long after he left, Ethel Collins walked in carrying breakfast.
She didn’t have a pleasant expression towards "Milton White".
"I brought this food for Milty to eat, not you."
The man’s gaze turned dark, "Yujian, find the key."
"No, I don’t know where the key is! Only Milty knows!"
She picked up a stead bun and said, "Would you like breakfast?"
Milton White cursed under his breath, his eyes glaring at her, "Think about what will happen to you when I am free. Sweetheart, go find the key."
The little girl didn’t retaliate, staring at him as if considering his words.
She then shook her head,"I truly don’t know, if you’re not eating, I’ll eat."
Milton White closed his eyes, a palpable sense of nace radiating from him.
As before, he searched around within reach of his cuffed hands, but failed to find the key.
A stead bun was held at his mouth.
The little girl suggested, "I will feed you."
