Chapter 1455
Who would deliberately write in a diary during work hours?
Besides, she had deleted everything after writing it.
Was it just to defa her character?
Layla Lowell’s mind cleared in an instant, but she didn’t rush out. She wanted to see what else this woman had up her sleeve.
The female assistant was still going on: "Miss Lowell surely didn’t do this on purpose. Her character should be fine. I think she is just too tired and is doing other things because of it. I am also at fault. I shouldn’t have been so engrossed in my work. I should’ve stopped her."
At this mont, the only word appeared in Layla Lowell’s mind -
What the hell!
And she thought this female assistant was cute just monts ago.
She looks towards Charles Carrington.
After a mont of silence, he asked, "What do you want to say?"
The female assistant was clearly taken aback.
"Mr. Charles, I...."
"There’s a cara in the office, you do know that, right?"
The female assistant turned pale, "I...I...Mr. Charles, I don’t know why you’re bringing this up."
"Neither do I know why you’re narrating these things to ." The man chuckles.
The laughter was as cold as frost.
"Cynthia, you’ve been working here for three years, right?"
"Yes..."
"Then go to accounting, settle three tis the wages, and don’t co to work from tomorrow onwards."
The female assistant panicked. "Mr. Charles, I don’t know what I did wrong. It’s my privacy that got violated..."
"I clearly know what she did all day. You tried to distort facts, fra her, and slander her – do you think I’m easy to fool, or do you think your plot was flawless?"
The assistant’s glasses fell onto the ground. "I’m sorry Mr. Charles, I was wrong, I won’t dare again, please give another chance, next ti I swear I won’t..."
"Do you want to call security?" The man said in a low and serious voice.
The cold terrifying air quickly scared the female assistant. She scrambled up, sobbed, and ran off.
As she passed by Layla Lowell, she glared at her harshly before rushing out of the room.
Layla felt her anger dissipate significantly.
To be honest, she didn’t expect this outco.
This man, he has this side too?
With this in mind, she looked up at him, eting his gaze.
Rembering his words from a mont ago -
[There’s a cara in the office]
[I know clearly what she did all day]
A sentence flashed through her mind. "You haven’t been monitoring all day, have you?"
He chuckled, one-third arrogant, one-third disdainful, and one-third fondness.
He stretched out his hand to her.
"Co here, I’ll teach you sothing."
Layla walked over suspiciously.
As soon as she reached him, her head was held.
Annoyed, she stepped back, "What are you doing?"
The man’s hand was still on her head, he forcefully tousled her hair and asked, "Are you really the boss of the Lowells?"
Layla furrowed her brows, "What’s the matter? You’re doubting my abilities now?"
"Well, your working abilities are fine, but you’re too naive and easily tricked. This isn’t good. You’re going to lose out in the future."
She was about to retort but then rembering the recent events, her words didn’t seem powerful anymore.
"If you’re this capable, it seems like you don’t need my help anymore. That’s good. I won’t co tomorrow."
She forced a smile, her grin was strained and insincere.
"You’re not happy to hear so words of advice?" He stepped forward, his arm wrapped around her waist, restraining her.
Layla turned her head to look at him, "Yes, I’m not happy."
His gaze was quiet, then suddenly, he laughed, "If you’re unhappy already, adding fuel to the fire wouldn’t matter."
He lowered his head and kissed her.
