As the man began to take off his coat, he spoke, "I’ve seen callousness, but never like this with you. Is it really your wish for to father a child with another woman?"
The warmly lined coat was draped over her, covering her slender form.

The look on Charles’s face was unutterably lonely, his eyes hazy as he stared at her. After a few long seconds, he finally spoke, "Chloe Collins has already acknowledged her lineage, aren’t you planning on letting Dawn return?"

Layla Lowell’s brow furrowed, "No way! She’s a Lowell not a Carrington. Wherever I am, she’ll be too!"
He was silent for a mont, then said, "Alright, I won’t pressure you. But there’s sothing I’d like to ask of you."

"I will be temporarily taking over as president of Carrington Enterprise for the next three months. You have experience in this area, so I’d like your help."

Upon hearing this, a flicker of anger rose in Layla Lowell’s heart. She turned her back to him, saying indignantly, "No deal! I don’t have the ti. I’m graduating after this term ends, I need to work on my thesis. I won’t have the ti!"
"Dawn told that your thesis is already in its final draft."
She was stunned; she never expected him to know about that.
"Well... I still have to do my postgraduate re-examination."

Charles Carrington saw a trap waiting for him to leap into.
He chuckled lightly, his gaze gentle, "I promise."
"You said it, I’ve recorded it. So if you deny it..."
"If I deny it, I’ll leave it up to you to handle ." After saying this, he took her hand and headed for his car.
"Hey, where are we going now!"
"To arrange your accommodation, it’s a company benefit."
"I’m not going!"
"There’s a surprise." He murmured into her ear, sending a jolt of surprise through her.
His gentle voice stunned her for a brief second.
Just like that, she was ushered into the car.
The largest advertisent on a sixty-story building showcased the latest campaign of a top-tier male star.
Damien Hart, a superstar who had been popular since his debut, due to a number of successful projects and frequent accolades. He was also personable, garnering a large fanbase across all age segnts.
As one of his dedicated fans, Layla Lowell still adored him.
