Chapter 1440

The docuntary on the television had ended, and it was now ti for comrcials.

She quickly closed the video call, scrambling to search around the room.

The room was a suite, equipped with a cloakroom, where she directed her hopeful search—only to find the window of the cloakroom wide open, the wind fiercely gushing in from outside.

Rembering Wanda Wesley’s ability to scale walls and roofs, she felt a shiver run down her spine, and quickly peered out of the window.

Right then, she saw a figure nimbly jumping from the third floor, quickly making its way across the street.

"Wanda Wesley!"

She cried out, but there was no response.

Chloe Collins, hearing the commotion, opened the door and walked in to query what was happening.

"Wanda Wesley ran away!"

She pointed out the window, but looking out, there was no one to be seen.

Chloe Collins frowned slightly. Just within those fleeting monts, she could hardly sll Wanda Wesley’s scent anymore, and had no idea which direction she might have taken.

"Don’t worry, she must have gone back to the Harmony Complex. Let’s go there and check," she stated.

Both won quickly left the room and headed downstairs.

They were about to fetch their car from the parking lot when they saw Charles Carrington’s car hurriedly pulling up at the entrance.

Layla Lowell, disregarding everything else, unceremoniously pushed him into the car: "To the Harmony Complex!"

Charles Carrington, watching the two anxious won, asked what happened while driving off.

As they drove, Chloe Collins reached out to the security guard at the Harmony Complex, asking a few questions.

Not long after, the security guard told her he had not seen Wanda Wesley’s figure.

"She might not have co here. She usually leaves after finishing work, but usually, the lights at her house are on, and today I noticed they are off, so she definitely has not returned ho."

After hanging up, Chloe Collins mulled it over, then asked Layla Lowell, "Did she exhibit any strange behavior before she left?"

"Not at all. She was calmly watching the TV the whole ti."

She had been keeping an eye on the entrance all along. She could not have imagined she had missed a step.

After thinking for a bit, Chloe Collins asked again, "What was she watching on the TV?"

"A docuntary about the ocean."

"Ocean..."

After contemplating for a few seconds, she turned towards Charles Carrington and commanded, "Charles, head to the Oceanarium."

Looking at the ti, Charles Carrington cautioned, "It is about to close now."

But even while he said that, he turned the car around.

There are three oceanariums in Orlando, all quite far from each other.

They decided to head towards the nearest one, which was right next to the Pearl Tower and near her house, hence the most probable location.

However, when they arrived and asked around, there was no sign of Wanda Wesley, and Chloe could not pick up her scent either.

She had no choice but to say, "You both continue to check the other oceanariums, I’ll head to the Harmony Complex."

She could not risk missing any chance. Perhaps, Wanda Wesley had returned, and the security guard just missed her.

The two agreed.

The three of them split up into two groups, each heading in different directions.

At this hour, the Harmony Complex had settled down, with only a few windows still lit signifying the employees working overti.

The sa security guard was still there. Seeing her, he broke into a warm smile.

"Young Miss Carrington, it was disgraceful of not recognizing you last ti. In hindsight, you are the actual owner of this place."

"Oh, no need for such formalities. Sir, have you been on duty here over the past hour?"

The security guard quickly replied, "I won’t lie, I did go to the restroom once. I have been having a stomach ache these two days. But I was back quickly. I have just now checked all the security caras—there was no sign of Wanda Wesley. I watched tonight’s news and thought she wouldn’t co."
