Chapter 1412
Such gaze and response reminded Chloe Collins of robots.
Only emotionless intelligent products would possess such an expression.
"Wanda Wesley, don’t you recognize ?" she asked again.
Wanda flung her gun and suddenly leaped towards Chloe, each move aid at capturing her.
Chloe retreated, quickly immobilizing her hands.
Wanda did not compromise and instead fought back more fiercely, unconcerned about Chloe’s strategies, which didn’t affect her attack in the slightest.
Her willpower was akin to a zombie that, even with hands chopped off, would still get up without expression and continue the pursuit.
After so contemplation, Chloe suddenly pretended to surrender, letting her handle the situation.
Since Wanda obviously planned to take her away, Chloe went along with her to figure out what was going on.
Wanda handcuffed her and stuffed her into a car.
From start to finish, Wanda did not utter a word, resembling a ruthless soldier that only executes commands.
Chloe had lots of questions for her. She wanted to ask what had happened in the past two years, why she was being captured, and why Wanda no longer recognized her.
The car sped off.
Chloe turned to look at the girl driving beside her. Wanda’s familiar face showed no emotions, only numbness and indifference. Around her neck, she wore a pendant that seed to be a ring.
It was... a gift from Robert Foster.
With this, Chloe was even more confident that she was indeed Wanda.
Just puzzled, as Wanda didn’t seem to recognize her at all, treating her like a stranger.
Chloe turned to see her reflection in the car window. She still looked the sa, unchanged.
So, did Wanda genuinely not recognize her, or was she purposefully acting under so forced pressure?
Twenty minutes later, a curious thing happened.
Wanda circled around and ended up back at the doorway of the Harmony Complex!
Chloe’s eyebrows knotted, even more puzzled by her behavior.
Wanda ca over, unlocked her handcuffs, and opened the door: "Get out."
The gloomy two words had no life in them.
Chloe saw that she had no intention to follow, so she didn’t move.
Just then, a man in a security guard uniform approached from outside the door. He pulled her out without further ado: "Miss, co out quickly!"
Chloe held onto the car door, preventing Wanda from driving off.
"Sir, what is the aning of this?"
The Security Guard looked frantic: "You get down first, then I’ll tell you!"
Chloe glanced at Wanda and said without any hesitation: "There’s no need, I have errands to run."
"Oh dear, miss, you cannot be with this lunatic."
"Lunatic?" Chloe was confused.
"Yes, her..." The security guard halted, having second thoughts about going on.
Chloe said, "It’s okay, you can say it, I’ll ensure your safety."
The security guard looked at her suspiciously: "Can you... can you defeat her?"
"Yes."
"Then how co you were handcuffed by her?"
"..."
Chloe frowned. She was not in the mood for more prattle and was about to close the car door.
The security guard quickly leant down and in a hushed and rapid tone said, "That girl is crazy. Every night, she’ll capture soone and roam around. If you’re lucky, she’ll bring you back. If you’re unlucky, she drops you in the wilderness. I have no idea what happened to her. Just listen to and leave quickly, or she might take you away again!"
