Chapter 1335

After leaving school, Chloe Collins headed towards the base.

Just this morning, Alexander Foster had already reached a consensus with Laura Crawford, persuading her to join the research team.

She suggested that they all have dinner together this evening to get acquainted. If she left right away, she would arrive just in ti for dinner.

Halfway there, her phone started ringing.

"Mr. Green?"

"Chlo-Chlo, are you on your way?"

"Yes, there’s a bit of traffic."

"What about Mr. Foster?!"

Chloe slowly moved her car forward following the one ahead, before answering him, "He just got back and has a mountain of work to handle at the company. He won’t be coming over tonight."

"Oh no! What do we do? Laura Crawford and Jerry River are arguing over who’s the team captain! No one is backing down! Jesus, they’re acting like children! This is so embarrassing!"

Chloe heard the sounds of quarrelling in the background and calmly responded, "Okay, I understand. Don’t worry, I’m on my way."

Hurrying along, she finally arrived at the base an hour later.

She walked in carrying a small backpack, dressed in straight black pants and a loose casual white shirt, emitting an aura of captivating charm and coolness.

The mont she stepped inside, the clamor automatically quieted down.

She glanced over at the group of people who were divided into two factions centered around Jerry River and Laura Crawford, all trying to diate the situation.

Layla Lowell, an expert at resolving disputes, had ssily tousled hair and was panting heavily. She sent Chloe a pleading look, "Chlo-Chlo, thank god you’re here!"

On another side, Heijii, with his black suit now missing two buttons and his yellow tie flung over his shoulder, had colorful stripes on the corner of his mouth. Seeing her, his face contorted, "Boss... save ..."

The others wore similar desperate expressions.

Chloe’s gaze swept over Jerry River, landing on the woman opposite him. Seen from her face, the woman appeared to be in her late thirties, a good ten years younger than her actual age, tall and slim, with neatly cut short hair, a gaunt face, a high nose, high cheekbones, thin lips, round eyes. She had a sharp gaze that made her seem difficult to get along with.

Upon seeing Chloe, she let go of Jerry’s clothes, dusted off her hands, and approached, "Finally, we et. Let’s sort this out. You tell him who’s the boss of the laboratory."

Jerry walked up with glaring eyes, "In terms of seniority, I am the most experienced! Who else here is more capable than !"

Laura chuckled coldly, her gaze full of contempt, "That was so many years ago. Do you still consider yourself as the second best? You think I’m still at the bottom? Tis have changed, now, I am far more capable than you!"

Chloe nodded, "I understand."

She kept her face calm yet resolute, and said this, raising both their expectations.

Suddenly, her finger pointed towards a certain wall.

Jerry and Laura simultaneously turned to see four huge words pasted on the wall: Unity and Love.

"The two of you are our seniors, I hope you can set a good example of how to get along. Mr. Green has always been the team captain, and I neither plan to or thought about changing that."

Laura frowned, "I need to talk to Mr. Foster! Talking with him is comfortable and makes feel at ho. But with you, it doesn’t work. You’re still too young!"
