Chapter 1329

She dialled a number on her phone.

anwhile, she headed out to et Alexander Foster.

The location was within The Great Mountain, about thirty kiloters away. Its harsh terrain kept the mountain roads intertwined, often leading to disorientation for those who dared to venture its depths.

As she sped on, a car suddenly cut across her path, forcing her to halt abruptly!

"Who’s that?!" Jerry River strained to see.

The door of the gray SUV opened to reveal a man with black boots, exuding an aura both wild and righteous.

He walked up to the front of her car, holding up his identification.

Chloe Collins’ eyes tightened: "He’s from the governnt."

Jerry squinted: "From the governnt? Why would they co looking for you?"

Chloe didn’t respond, her calm eyes unblinkingly fixed on the man outside the car. The atmosphere beca tense.

She exited her vehicle and walked towards him.

The man extended his hand: "Young Miss Collins, I’m Jas Cunningham from the National Institute of Mysterious and Supernatural Phenona Research, in charge of the BDR experint subjects’ missing persons’ case. I’ve been keeping an eye on you for quite so ti."

A hint of a smile played on his lips.

"And what, Captain Cunningham, do you want from ?"

He responded: "I just wanted to inform you that your two friends are safe now. They’re back with us. You no longer need to search for them. Our team will soon raid Laura Crawford’s hideout and rescue the victims."

Jerry heard this and quickly exited the vehicle: "Really? Where are they?!"

"They’ll be back soon."

No sooner had he finished speaking, a call ca from Alexander Foster about his encounter with a team from Grearon.

Chloe glanced at Cunningham.

Cunningham smiled, "See? I didn’t lie to you. We’ve been watching this case for so ti. When they captured those people, we followed the trail back to their hideout. We’ve taken them all at once."

His grin broadened, his gaze belying an unspoken threat.

Chloe found it strange, "Captain Cunningham, did you stop just to tell this?"

Cunningham raised an eyebrow: "What else did Young Miss Collins think I could want?"

His gaze seed probing.

Chloe lowered her eyes, unsure whether the polite authorities had already caught all of her actions. Perhaps they were even baiting her now.

Without saying more, she simply responded, "Thank you."

After she finished speaking, she turned to go back to her car.

Cunningham took a step forward and leisurely blocked her path, "Young Miss Collins!"

As their eyes t, it almost felt like both sides were quietly testing each other, ready to unleash their power at any mont.

Finally, Cunningham’s eyes softened. He smiled, "You’re injured. Use this."

In his hand, a Band-Aid suddenly appeared.

Following his gaze, Chloe looked at her hand and noticed a two-centiter long scratch that had started to bleed.

Scarlet blood seeped out, emitting a faint tallic aroma.

She accepted the Band-Aid: "Thank you."

Cunningham: "We’ll et again when the occasion arises."

His smile deepened as he looked at her intensely before turning to get back in his car.

The vehicle sped off into the distance, like a wild beast that couldn’t be tad.

Jerry ca over, "When did you get hurt? The wound couldn’t have been more than five minutes old!"

Chloe watched the retreating vehicle and said, "He scratched to test."

"On purpose?"

"Yes." Chloe turned and walked back to the car, her explanation was brief: "He’s started to suspect that I’m one of the experint subjects. He doesn’t have enough evidence to confirm it, so he wanted to see if my blood is also pale red like the other subjects."
